Adam Lallana's a complete Knob head ,great signing my arse, just another saints player to keep him company on the bench , money grabbing ex England players

So I can see the progression for Clyne from Palace to Saints to Liverpool, plus the £90k a week. What I can't see is him saying that Brenda will do defensive one to ones with him and he will learn more and progress. Did he not google 'R. Koeman'?

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - more to the point, did he not hear Rodgers' comments last season about how defence is uncoachable which is why he would not appoint a defensive coach? Has he not seen how awful Liverpool's defence has been seen Brendan Rodgers took charge of Liverpool? I know footballers tend to be dense, but he is really living up to the stereotype there!}

Totally agree Ed001, plus Lallana putting his oar in.

Haha good to see he's putting media training to good use. His advisors must have said say whatever you like, just not that you will be earning a mint whilst playing here.

Brenda's one to one coaching of his last RB did wonders for his career at Liverpool and for England! And a big shame Saints had such a rubbish defensive record last season! RoKo what were you doing?LOL

Apart from Rickie, why is it that every Saints player going to Liverpool seems to feel it essential to make themselves look absolute Dicks in the process?

Must be that 'character' Bodgers is always talking about.

Never a team player and should free up a bit on the wage bill

Frustrating to see we couldn't even get a single penny back from him. But that's over 50k a week gone, now the jury's on Gaston.

Agree Vick, in an ideal world it would have been good to recoup a little, but he has so much baggage I think other clubs are wary of his volatile nature
Gaston, like you said, another costly buy will need to prove himself, personally I'd like to see him go and us recoup monies and reinvest.

What I find frustrating is the major transfers that were done were under the leadership of Nicola Cortese which has cost the club a fortune . Markus Leibherr must be turning in his grave at the total shambles he caused with the signings he insisted on, it has cost the club a fortune . I would however give Gaston another go because there is no doubt he has a great deal more to give than he's shown so far , to me keep hold of him and if he doesn't cut it move him on in January . He has a lot of skill and though a bit one footed he could be a great asset in the Europa league.

John guidetti is going to sign for us this week after being released by man city he scored 15 goalso in 31 gmes for cel tic last season and 20 goals in 23 games for koeman in a previous loan spell at feyenoord looks a bargain on a free he's still only 23 with a total goal scoring record of 39 goals in 80 games celtic feyenoord Sunderland and west Brom amongst teams also interested

He'd be a good squad player, although you've got to wonder why he was unable to break into the first team at Stoke or get the odd game at City. Could be he has a bad attitude, or isn't a hard grafter. Either way Koeman will know whether or not he'd be a worthy signing.

Koemans managed him before, knows what the players like and would suit the football we play. supposedly we wanted him last summer but went for Pelle instead. Decent signing if we get him

He looked 'up for it' attitude wise in last night's U21 Final. When we bought Juanmi, I thought that was our Guidetti signing but with more potential.

Koeman's comments on Toby are optimistic, although it appears we no nearer to securing a deal. Koeman sounds confident about it still so that at least tells us we're not being priced out, and we already know at least Toby would like to return here.

Interesting thing to note is that if Spurs did try to sign Toby that would be their seventh centre back, with Kevin Wimmer having already signed during this transfer window. So even if they managed to shift Kaboul and Chiriches which is doubtful, Toby would then be blocking the pathway of Eric Dier, Fazio and new signing Wimmer. From that perspective it makes no sense why they'd be after another centre back.

That's because he's a fullback really.

Which player are you classing as a full back Jof33? If its Eric Dier then his natural position is centre back, although he played at right back a few times last season. Tottenham now have Kyle Walker, Kieran Tripper and DeAndre Yedlin to compete for that role already!

Anyway the arc of my point was that I cannot see Tottenham signing any more defenders before shifting the deadwood first.

If Coleman signs for utd then Everton would look to Sam Byram who was one of our targets the last few transfer windows. Really rate Byram and seeing that we only have one natural RB in Cedric I would love RK to go for him.

How about trying Jordan Rhodes from Blackburn
he knows how to score goals worth a punt surely

Wouldn't Rhodes be not far off Charlie Austin money?

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Jul 2015 15:24:01
Blackburn signed Rhodes for 8 mil so they would not want to sell him for less than that. Add to that Gestede is rumoured to leave as well so I imagine they would be desperate to keep at least one talisman.

Byram would've been good had we not got Cedric, two young players fighting for the same position would hinder them imo. Be good to get someone with some experience there now Clyne's gone though.

@forest Rhodes wouldn't be bad but Blackburn want stupid money for him which has put a lot of clubs off in the past

i also agree that a more experienced right back would be a smart move. Someone who could care-take if cedric takes time to find his feet. plus we need depth there anyway

Hi Ed, Sky Sports have stated that a Manchester United bid of less than £25m was turned down 10 days ago and since then there has been no contact between the clubs. Even Koeman recently said there was no agreement. What do you know of this? Is it only about the transfer fee, or there is a chance Morgan can be convinced to stay?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There is no acceptable bid from the interested clubs at this time.}

01 Jul 2015 20:39:48
Thanks ed Is either team expected to come back with an acceptable bid? Or has the quoted price put them both off?

{Ed002's Note - I could only guess.}
