If saints fans can see danny fox
is not good enough
why cant nigel adkins see it

Believable9 Unbelievable3

Gamble on shaw, he has the ability going forward, more pace, more desire to learn and it int too hard to match fox defensivley...

Now the transfer window has shut hopefully we will be able to bring in some experienced players who are free agents or on loan to fill the gaps.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Can't loan now were in Prem - can loan out only. Free agents though are a different story

Ramirez will not be legible to play against united because we signed him after midday. Stupid rule

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Ramirez won`t save you, LOL

Agree5 Disagree4

Jealous skate posting here methinks

''Ramirez won't save you, LOL''

Youre right, he wont, our team spirit will and Ramirez will just add to our attacking flair.

so. anyone got any ideas of what to talk about between now and December 31st?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

How well the Skates are doing :)

Does anyone else think the Harry to Saints rumours have any truth to them? I really hope not as I think he is just a mercenary out for himself. A greedy ex skate who managed to avoid paying taxes by having expensive solicitors. {Ed003's Note - he was proven not guilty}

Lets talk about how we can get promotion after we get relegated this season

I'm a Forest fan that comes in peace.

As you know we have signed Billy Sharp.

What are we getting?

Do you rate him?

Honest opinions please.

Thanks and good luck, hope you stay up and we meet in the PL next year.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Personally, I think he is underrated! Put it this way bud, In pre-season he was on fire! You are getting a very good natural finisher that can hold the ball up well. If he is played next to a good holding striker that can move the ball onto him - he will get 20+ for you this season easy. GL

Natural "Fox in the box" ...
Instinctive goal scorer ...
Will get Forest 12-15 goals this season.

Lacks pace. But makes up for it with heart and commitment. A lovely guy who will become a fan's favourite wherever he goes.

Good luck at Forest, Billy !

Billy Sharp - lovely guy and will score you goals. Not the quickest but a predator and a good engine. Should score for fun this season! Good luck Billy!

THE VERDICT:

Whilst some might say that we didn't strengthen enough in defence in the transfer window, I have to say that it would be completely wrong to be complaining, and that there surely must be a lot of very grateful Saints fans out there today. Here are three reasons why:

1. We have been the 4TH HIGHEST SPENDERS in this transfer window, when looking at NET SPEND. Only Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United have achieved a higher net spend than us. THANK YOU TO THE LIEBHERR FAMILY, AND TO NICOLA CORTESE.

2. We have "in effect" got NINE new QUALITY outfield players in for the first half of this Premiership Campaign... We signed 6 (Ramirez, Rodriguez, Miyuka, Yoshida, Clyne, Davis)... PLUS our excellent Academy has also given us Shaw and Ward-Prowse, PLUS we have Tanandari Lee back from a long term injury, which will feel like yet another new signing.

3. I still don't think for a second that it will be an easy season ahead by any means, but in over thirty years of loyally following Saints, I have never looked at a Premiership season with so much optimism... Our nickname of "Struggling Southampton" and our image as being a "small club" is fast disappearing.

It's time to BELIEVE everyone ! This is JUST THE BEGINNING of our exciting new journey in the Premier League !

++ SOUTHAMPTON FC IS A BUYING CLUB ++

++ SOUTHAMPTON FC IS AN AMBITIOUS CLUB ++

++ SOUTHAMPTON FC WILL BE A CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CLUB WITHIN THE NEXT FOUR SEASONS ++

Enjoy the season ahead fellow Saints fans !

Great post from whoever you are but I still find it laughable that people honestly think we'll be in the champions league in years time! You'd have to put teams like Newcastle, Spurs, Liverpool, Everton and even Swansea above us in terms of being able to reach the top 4! Realistically the most I can hope for at this stage is 2 seasons of survival and entertainment followed by a few mid-table seasons and winning the FA cup and inevitably getting knocked out of the Europa Cup in the first round again

Agree0 Disagree6

One word...DELUDED!

A famous leader once said:
“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win”

Saints are currently at the second stage above... We can expect plenty of people to laugh at our ambitions... Even our own people.

I think you will find you are already being called struggling soton, lol
