Hi guys
Celtic fan come in peace. Keep reading about you slagging off scottish league and standard. Makes me laugh lol. I see you are top of the league which makes you the best team so far (well done). But look at the facts how many Southampton players are proven International players? How many titles or medals have they won? We know the Scottish Premier league is not the best but that is down to money and a recession. You pick a talented player from anywhere in the world and he will know Celtic/Rangers will he have heard of Southampton. Have a bit of reality guys you are sponsored from s*y, that money will run out at some point then where will you all be with the amount of debt much bigger clubs than yours are in.
Hi - I for one accept the gesture of peace. The only reason that there's been any slagging off of the SPL is because we tabled a bid for Gary Hooper and some of your fans were (understandably) upset at the prospect of losing him. They then came on here and started slagging off our club and things have snowballed from there (some of its been quite funny and entertaining though!). I don't think anybody here denies that Celtic are a big club with a passionate following and your feat in overhauling Rangers this season has been amazing (well done to you). I agree with you about the money - its sheer lunacy. Something needs to be done but I doubt that it will be - there's too much greed about. We suffer from some of the same problems you do - its difficult to hold on to players when other clubs come in with ludicrous transfer fees and ridiculous wage offers (and that includes our bid for Gary Hooper as being reported at a doubling or trebling of his wages). Anyhow, good luck for the rest of the season - hopefully you can come back and congratulate us on our promotion in May!
I have enjoyed watching Southampton this season, good team, good fans, hope you get to the EPL wish it was Celtic. I like your Ricky Lambert, do you think you will be able to keep him if he keeps scoring the goals?
Who knows maybe a pre season game can be arranged and you can visit Celtic Park and see for yourslves our ground and fans (60,000) hail hail Timalloy
Thanks for that. I'm not sure I enjoyed the Doncaster away game or the match tonight against Leicester but we have done a lot better than most of us could have dreamed at the start of the season. Having Celtic (and Rangers? They'd have to have a points deduction for being in trouble with HMRC) in the EPL would make things much more interesting and probably benefit all concerned - do you think it will ever happen? Ricky Lambert has been loyal to Southampton, much like Gary Hooper to Celtic but no, I don't think we would be able to keep him if we don't make it to the EPL - we've struggled to keep hold of players like Theo Walcott, Gareth Bale and Oxlade-Chamberlain. Pre-season sounds great - make it happen!
Lambert is in the last years of his career. He has a long contract to see him out. He's happy, well loved and going nowhere. Saints are ambitious and well run now, not like we were under Rupert Lowe. He wouldn't be sold unless it was stupid money. £15m for Oxo was acceptable for a player only proven in a handful of games in League 1. I wonder would we be where we are now if he was starting every week? - I doubt it, he's fast and tricky but greedy and naive. Typical youngster, but I'm sure he'll be great in a few years.
I'd like to see Rangers and Celtic in the EPL make it a 22 team league. Might make the SPL more interesting and the rivalry in the EPL would be brilliant. The current squads of Gers and Celtic would see them in trouble but the fan-base would see them become one of the biggest clubs in the world on par with the likes of Man Utd.... So maybe we'll keep them where they are ;)
Agreed but the chance to play in the EPL before his career ends would be a big pull and nobody could blame him if the chance came along.
He's got a chance, with us
Yeh - you're right!
