Decent signing but must say butland looked excellent tonight

I think that if we get butland as well then we will be sorted for the next 10 years.

It would good if Nigel brings at least 1 maybe 2 centre backs, a winger and possibly an experienced gk before the city game. I think a good move for us would be to make a big money signing (cb or winger) to break our transfer record again which would 1. Show we really mean business and 2. Ease the pressure off Jay Rod being our record signing

And put pressure on the new record signing? Would we then break that again to ease the pressure on him? And so on...

No because the new record signing wouldn't be a striker and would experienced at top level whereas jay rod is not

I reckon we have about 20-30 million to spend this transfer window, so far i would say weve spent about 10m thats adding a rough fee for clyne, leaving a possible 20m to spend on maybe another GK, im not sure. but definately 2x CB, RW, LWB and a creative midfielder, i dont think will be spending our money on british based players and decide to have a look abroad

I personally would've prefered Butland but I'm sure Gazz would be fantastic for us!

I'm sure he was a fraction of the cost which (hopefully) means that the money saved can be re-invested in outfield players (and hopefully at least one decent centre half)

I wouldn't be surprised to see Butland arrive as well. In fact didn't Nigel mention 1 or 2 new GKs recently?

Butland was superb for Team GB tonight. I hope we still go for him despite todays arrival. In my view he is worth an eye popping fee as Mr Clarke would say

Buttner deal looks to have fallen through due to some stupid reason, will saints go for a player like buttner again or just have fox and shaw for left back

I'm excited by Shaw but talk about throwing a kid in the deep end. Fox is s***.

No its not fallen through NC/NA need to decide if they still want him that's why Buttner is in a waiting game atm. i expect if we dont get him in the next week then the deal will be off and i expect us to go for another LB as well as a RW and a CB.
So expect to see three more signings atleast which will mean we have signed 7 players this summer :)
