So the left back playing for the best defence in the whole Premier League is only, at best, 5th choice for England.

As I said the other day, Hodgson's always been a joke.

Unfortunatly we will NEVER win anything with Hodgson, clueless, tactically poor, safe option who will remarkably get a new contract extension to nxt world cup, will only stick to his prefered choice instead of opting for un fashionable form players, walker/townsend/smalling all crap, jagielka very poor form at moment, walcott not yet match fit, baines been out injured a while and got torn apart in kiev, Hodgson really is a mug as is the f.a for giving him the job and letting him keep it after world cup shambles

Just throwing it out there, German international keeper Timo Hildebrand is currently a free agent, should the club need a short term fix to get them to the end of the season.

h/t 1-0. Saints looking all right going forward, as long as they keep it away from Pelle who is stinking the place out.

Defensively, it's a shambles and Burnley should've had two or three, but for Kelvin Davis - and Fonte should've conceded a penalty.

Forster's injury is bad luck, but aside from that Saints have had all the luck.

Seriously unconvincing. Need at least another goal - I can't see Burnley not scoring.

2-0. We'll take that. Looked nothing like a side challenging for a European place, but Saints have been muddling along like that for a while now.

Bertrand, Mane, Kelvin and Steven Davis all pretty good. Fonte clumsy and reckless, Pelle poor, Tadic anonymous. Koeman got the tactics badly wrong in the first half. Midfield was totally overrun - you can't play Tadic in any position that requires some defensive responsibility - and the side were disjointed and all over the place.

Hopefully Forster's knee injury isn't too serious. If it's another Rodriguez, not only is that his season done but Saints will have to buy a keeper in the summer. Seriously rough luck on the big lunk. Super Kelv did well, but doesn't fill anyone with confidence as a long-term or even short-term option.

A strange game. I think Burnley will feel hard done by. But who cares? Onwards.

Wtf mush!
I think you should keep all delusional opinions to yourself, especially the half time posts unless you want to apply for the managers job yourself!!

1x1, I'm not sure this would be much of a discussion board if people didn't air their opinions.

Burnley should've scored three and had a penalty before half time. If that's not an accurate description of how things played out, feel free to dazzle us with your overview.

Agree with you qwertyell that you should be free to give all your opinions on the game as this is essentially what the page is for. However I think you missed something in your overview. We were the better team and deserved the win.

On the second half's performance, Frenchie, yes. Once Saints went two-up it was pretty comfortable.

It's a results business and I'd argue anyone who wins deserves to win, but I thought Saints were very much second best during the first 45 and I think Koeman did too judging from the changes to personnel and tactics he made during the break.

So, we have a team not playing as well as it could/can, but we win 2-0. We complete March with 7 points out of 9, and only one goal against (by Chelsea).
If we can do this with a gear, or two, yet to come then I am a happy bunny. Can RoKo get that extra performance? I suspect he can, and see no reason why we should be negative about his abilities.

Yreah, that's a good idea, keep the ball away from the striker. That will help him find his form again!
