saints are still looking at every player from every club because that's just who we are. or we've finished this window unless something pops up which won't be till deadline day

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We don't need anyone else really. We have made 3 very good signings and the team looks great. If the right things come up, we could make another signing, but I don't think much is likely to go on this window or in January unless circumstances change.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets face it - us fans don't have a clue what's going on right now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Banega still possible he was always top of Poch's list.

Brilliant response ed 1 (current favourite ed haha)

Was wandering whether Chelsea are close to signing Willian. If so will others become available such as Moses or with luck kdb haha.

thanks again

{Ed001's Note - De Bruyne, no, Moses is injured but is available, Mikel is also potentially available.}

It's now been announced that Scott Sinclair has signed for west brom on a season long loan. Not too disappointed by this

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good I would rather have Nani. I cannot believe we have not signed him. He is class

Agree0 Disagree0

I can believe we haven't signed Nani, he has a very high wage and is at United.

Scott Sinclair has joined West Brom on a Season Long Loan

Radio interview: Pochettino confirmed Puncheon joined Palace on loan for "personal reasons" but also that the arrival of Osvaldo could see him alter their formation.

"With the arrival of Dani Osvaldo, Puncheon realised his chances of getting in the team were greatly reduced, " he added.

"Ward Prowse played very well at West Brom. He has the technique and the ability to play anywhere in midfield, so we are very happy and pleased with him and hope he continues the trajectory he is on. "

Meanwhile, Pochettino has confirmed that the club's record signing Osvaldo is fit to play after his arrival on Monday and also says he could be involved at the weekend against Sunderland.

The Argentinian hinted the club would not be adding any more players before the end of the transfer window after a summer of heavy investment.

"Dani is fit, he played an international match last week but he needs to integrate himself into our structure and learn how we play.

"We always keeping an eye out on the market but it clear we've achieved our goals, which was to reinforce every single position in the starting 11, so we are very pleased. "

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Makes sense. Short of Banega asking, I didn't think we would. It's a shame that we won't have the AM we so desperately need but I think we should be proud of who we have. We have players who are worth more than we have spent in total since we were created!
Really impressed with NC getting who he has and really hopeful that these players are going to do well.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the OP, don't see that comment as a hint at all (smokescreen, yes. ) Last two weeks of the window are difficult with prices likely to become silly so I believe that MP is now being very careful not to indicate that Saints may be after anyone else. Still think there is one (maybe two) more to be completed.

Saint Martin

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah we won't sign anyone else this window at least. I think he will now leave it until jan and see if anyone becomes available that will only enhance the sqaud (honda on a free maybe) but unless something goes wrong before the window shuts don't get your hopes up

Mopo has said on sky sports there will be no more planed tranfers in this window! But will still keep his eye out for anything that arises!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think it's hint we will sign someone if an opportunity arises like with Sinclair possibly

mackem fan here are you all bricking it at the thought of altidore turning ya defence over

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed030's Note - Osvaldo and Lambert will pose more of a threat to the Sunderland defense then Altidore will to the Southampton defense in my opinion. }

Only one player to turn our defence we got a lot more than one threat lol p. s your name ain't Rodney by any chance is it?

Agree0 Disagree0

Got to agree with ed there mate I don't think you will find any saints fans bricking it over this fixture get ready for the southampton show my friend

Agree0 Disagree0

This is one of the funniest things I've ever read. The only thing Altidore could turn over is the all you can eat buffet.

Agree0 Disagree0

You must be referring to the way that Man. City/Liverpool/Chelsea turned our defence over at the end of last season-and then of course we have weakened it since with the signing of Lovren and Wanyama!LOL

Saint Martin

Agree0 Disagree0

The short awnser is no. If you get a point you've done very well. Beware the lambo, he's coming for you!

Agree0 Disagree0

Suprised the sunderlasnd fan wasnt too embarrassed by how good he thinks altidore is and how ed knew sunderland weren't much of a threat

Agree0 Disagree0

Altidore is a good signing, he may have scored a lot in the erdivive but we have signed Pablo Osvaldo, the 3rd top scorer in Italy, we have Ricky Lambert who was joint 6th top scorer in the prem, who do you reckon will do better, hmmm

Agree0 Disagree0

Am a geordie and I hope southampton destroy sunderland coz they think there going to win the league with di nazio

Agree0 Disagree0

Like Anelka, one game against Saints and he will have to retire!

Agree0 Disagree0

Altidore is a pile of sh*t sunderlands only decent player is giacherinni and he can't win a game on his own. you really tore fulham a new one lol

I would rather see us pursue banega. Poch said in early july he is one of our main targets. despite reports saying he wants to stay put I reckon we're still on the case. Look at what osvaldo and wanyana deals. they dragged on. I think Banega would be the icing on the cake.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed030's Note - If Southampton sign Banega I think you can challenge for the Europa league,Southampton,Fullham and Swansea have very good squads and should do well,Plaudits must go to Pochetino and the owners. }

Thankyou Ed. I think if we sign Banega and both he and Osvaldo slot in comfortably then we can do well.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think we will as Poch said there'd be no more planned signings and we planned to sign Banega

Agree0 Disagree0

Still would love to see Banega come on board. To me he would scare most of the holding midfielders in the Premier League with his pace and close skills. Just one piece missing come on NC finish the jigsaw.

Agree0 Disagree0

Right now I would swap Gaston for Banega, because if Gaston doesn't up his game he will struggle to even get in the team this year. I thought Punch played better than him last season and he's gone.
But maybe we are in for a surprise and our three South American forwards will all gell together this year and it will work out tickety-bo.

Scott Sinclair having a medical at West Brom this morning. If we're still looking for players, we won't be getting Sinclair.

I have seen on SW that we are after a defender.

Hello ed. Was wondering if you could give your opinion on our transfer business so far? How do you feel about the players? Would you be happy with this at the start of the window?

Also, do you feel as though we'll be signing either a defender to let go of fox? Or an attacking player as we let puncheon go on loan? Or anyone else for that matter?

thanks in advance

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - my personal opinion, as a neutral, is that you have done excellent business. You have strengthened the weak areas, but not brought in so many players the team is likely to struggle to gel together. Ok, you could probably do with a back up to Shaw at left back, but how many players of the level you need will join to cover a teenager? You are really forced to go with what you have there for now, Shaw is far too good to drop unless his form dips. In which case you can go get a left back in the following window. I also like that there are still chances for more of your youth to break in to the team, there has been no policy of buying a ready made player for every first team place and then buying a back up for everyone of them in case of injuries. The club have just targeted a few players who are better than the player that was already in the first 11. I really don't see there being anyone else joining, except maybe a player to replace Puncheon, though I think Isgrove will just move onto a permanent place on the bench, more than likely.}

Very good analysis from ed001 there. Impressive insight into the club for a neutral and I agree 100%.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, well done Ed001. Articulate and a better understanding of the club's policy than some of our own fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - thank you.}

Totally agree Gazza. Thanks Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with what has been said about Isgrove stepping up. From what I have seen so far of him I really think he will be a truly exciting prospect this season.
