Apparantly Liverpool won't overpay for Lallana sounds like the move could be off as they won't match our evaluation apparantly and I doubt Adam will force a move, any truth in this Eds? Or is this just paper talk?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - It is what I said it is.}

What I can't understand is mata moved to united for 35 million. Why is Adam being valued at around 25? And Liverpool think that's too much? Adams at least as good if not better and younger. I'll be shocked if he goes anywhere for less than 35. Especially after the World Cup. Will certainly show how much the board know about what they are doing. Hey ed002 you getting fed up yet lol

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Mata did not move for that amount and what can it possibly have to do with Liverpool, Lallana or Southampton. This is getting very embarrassing.}

It's about fair player valuations, if we have to loose lallana the fans will want the best deal as should the club. And 25 is not the best deal. My point didn't suggest the mata deal had any input from Liverpool or saints. Just that surely Adam is worth as much if not more. I'm sorry your embarrassed. Perhaps your overtired, you know from repeating yourself all week.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is embarrassing for you not me. I am not the one making up numbers and discussing other players.}

And sorry mata was 37 million www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/. /25849959

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Actually that figure is incorrect as well.}

And Mata is better than lallana

Agree0 Disagree0

No way should they sell Lallana. not when 25 per cent of transfer fee goes to bournemouth, would just be stupid. Even if he went for 30 mill we'd only get 22. 5. That's not much more then we spent on Osvaldo, Ramirez, Wanyama, etc, and Lallana's miles better. Selling him is just a bad move, the board should do what Liverpool did with Suarez last year (and what the cast of Grange Hill did) just say no.

Link sais different. My numbers are backed up. I'm not embarrassed. I am however confused as to why you even edit this site, your clearly unhappy.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The link is incorrect. I was editing this site to help out the Southampton supporters, but clearly they are not interested in information about the offers being made, so I won't bother anymore.}

This is getting out of hand quickly, everyone relax! Many of us appreciate your insight Ed, so please don't give up on this sight. I know some of the users won't be happy with your answers but at least they are truthful, for me that makes your input worth it. So don't give up Ed :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is clearly not appreciated, I won't be providing anything further.}

I'm saying I appreciate it!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well in all fairness I was only trying initially to have a bit of banter with you ed, and put in my personnel opinion on saints. Perhaps we could let this one be and move on. We all appreciate the work editors do. Even if we don't always agree.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed005's Note - Ed002 won't be helping out on this page any longer.}

*Slow clap* well done guys, that wasn't completely ridiculous or anything. Oh and banter hamble? Banter isn't just outright insulting someone.

Oh and to your point about player worth, football economics works on a idea known as the subjective theory of value. Players are worth only what the seller is willing to sell for and what the buyer is willing to buy for. There is no intrinsic value and other transfers do not set a precedent or have a direct knock on towards another transfers value.

And finally Ed002 we do appreciate your commentary on here, even if its not always what everyone wants to hear. So I hope your leave is not a permanent one.

Don't bite the hand that feeds you guys, it's petty, petulant and foolish.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well that went well ^^^ top work boys

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure where the insults are tj. It wasn't my intention to upset him either. I seem to have bared the brunt of some frustration. It's a banter page. And for the last time I wasn't suggesting there was a price plan based on other transfes, just that from an on lookers point of view there values should be similar. Quite frankly I express one opinion and everybody starts throwing Dolly's. He didn't get my joke, took it the wrong way. Iv apologised. And now I'm moving on and will resist posting again until such time as the managers and players stay and everyone chills out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002. is he a Man United fan? because he seem pissed. Luke Shaw is staying or opting for Chelsea. The dominoe effect has started. Luiz gone £40-50m, Evra 1 year new deal, Shaw is in Chelseas sights.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Chelsea is his team.}

Hope you've all seen that Lallana's best mate (and best man at his wedding) has stated on his twitter that there is no chance Adz is going to liverpool anytime soon, stating that he's 'Saints through and through'. Not exactly a absolute guarantee but great to see people close to Lallana are saying he isn't leaving

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Honestly, I think family will keep him here, his and his wife's family are all local and with a couple of young kids I can't see them wanting to move all that way. London probably, manchester/liverpool I doubt

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope it's true. But he's not from Southampton or a childhood Saints fan. Dangler millions of pounds in front of his eyes and his mrs eyes etc, then heads can turn. Having said that, if I had to choose which of our players I expect to be loyal it would be him and Rickie at the top. But I do believe it's down to the board to show ambition. Let's hope.

Maybe just maybe Van Gaal will give his fellow countryman Buttner a chance to prove himself this season. Ok I'm clutching at straws here
