not a rumour - more banter but Luke Shaw, has pulled out of Stuart Pearce's squad for Israel due to injury and is replaced by Liverpool's Jack Robinson, 19.

Pochettino wants new signings to happen relatively quickly, hence Cortese's 'business trip' to Italy (Rome). Since Cortese received the trusts' backing to push the Saints on to a top half finish, there is to be at least 1 big money signing, with other signings improving our squads strength in depth to make sure the players fight for their places in the XI.
If reports are right that Cortese is in Rome, negotiating transfers, these could be possible candidates:
Pablo Osvaldo: Played under Pochettino at Espanyol, a ready-made replacement for an aging Lambert. However at 27, is not a youngster and maybe does not fit the Cortese blueprint. Despite this, he is an incredible finisher and his form has improved since 2010. He is not a one club man and may be looking for a new challenge
Miralem Pjanic: Once a very talented teen, his stock appears on the rise once again. Would probably be a no go as he would prefer Champions League football. Bigger and better clubs chasing his signature.
Erik Lamela: A winger who can score plenty of goals, would be an exciting investment for the Saints. Will only become better with age and could cost a pretty penny.
Lorenzo Insigne: Can play just behind the main striker (competition for Gaston?) and has been impressive in his loan spells with Foggia and more recently, Pescara. May not have the build for the Premier League and has been arguably less impressive this season than Lamela, who can play a similar role.
