I would like to see him in a saints shirt.
He isn't the finished article but there are loads of clubs linked with him and I trust their scouting systems more than the Fifa 15 managers that sometimes appear here.
RK will get the best out of him (and caulker), and it also gives us another option as CDM
Tie him down to a 5 year deal and potentially renegotiate every 2 years to extend it if he comes good.

Watching this Celtic game if Koeman thinks that VVD is the answer I am surprised . He looks less of a CB than Ward Prowse . God I hope he's watching could be another 10 million plus down the drain .

He certainly looks a work in progress, not someone who can slot straight into the starting XI and improve the team.
I do think he's got plenty of talent to work with and could prove a sound investment over time. I'm not sure he's the answer to Saints' defensive problems right now, though.
I guess we'll all find out how serious their interest in him is in a few days - I notice Monaco got knocked out tonight as well. Perhaps Saints were waiting on Abdennour instead this whole time.

Hope you're right about Abdennour Querty , we need a solid proper CB and he is . We don't really need an expensive " Work in progress " like VVD in our current situation . Spend some real money on top quality and not take risks on a player that can be improved by RK we don't have the time for this . Buy them both and bring Virgil on gradually if possible .

I suppose the down side of signing a player of Abdennour's ability is two fold . Firstly he would as stated cost a load of dough and also would he come here? Even more important though is if it did happen and he was a great success come January the PL vultures would be circling to get him as seems to be the norm when it comes to SFC . Not sure this wouldn't also happen with VVD should he actually improve on what I've seen so far .

We've played 6 competitive games so far & lost once without fielding our full strength side! Calm down, get behind the club & remember how far we've come in a relatively short space of time from the dark days of league 1 & minus 10 points. Be very thankful we've still got a club to support never mind 1 competing in the top tier of English football & in Europe. I didn't pick my club to support, it picked me & although I want the best for us I will support no matter what standard we are playing. Long live the Saints!

People need to remember this is the first year in a new 5 year plan. This board know exactly why they're doing. Patience. We are still consolidating both our finances and our status as a PL team for another 26+ year stint.
This season will not be as good as lasts but I firmly believe the season in 5 years time will be better than last.
