I know it's not the Southampton way, but as the Southampton way isn't working that well at the moment. I would like to see a couple of loan signings that could help us short term. It's looking more and more likely that David Villa may be up for grabs!!
Bentley can also still cross a decent ball, so could offer something for Lambert up front.

No thank you, I'd rather stick to the Southampton way, bring in good and reasonably priced talent. Really we don't want wages above 30,000 a week I think so maybe look to more young players.

Bentley wouldn't be that much per weak and Villa would be a loan so we may not have to pay 100% of his wages, I think Bentley would be good as we need someone with a good ball into the box, although maybe someone like Marc Albrighton would be better as he's younger but still a similar sort of player?

We don't need loanee's, Southampton can bring in a few players in January to fit the bill. NC and NA know what they are doing and won't go for ridiculous wages but will bring good players.

just out of interest what would most southamption fans want from the jan transfer window. Young foreign buys who are gambles or a couple of proven prem players to see you safely into mid-table

Some of each. Think we should take one experienced player to hold us up at the back and then maybe one or two flare's from abroad to liven up the attack.
Maybe we should get some attacking midfield cover for Lallana, Puncheon and Ramirez, A new Goalkeeper may be needed and someone like Dawson to hold in at Centre back. Although perhaps not Dawson himself.

"Just out of interest"-then you ask a question which is totally biased to the answer you want! Training to be a politician, are you?
No, I do not want Premiership players who are not good enough to get into their current clubs team, or have an attitude problem that means they need to be got out the door. If we wanted that sort of approach we would have 'arry in charge.
I suppose you mean the young foreign buys who are gambles like Lionel Messi?
Maybe you are not a budding politician but could be some has beens agent.

Why will a couple of proven prem players necessarily see us safely into mid-table? Do you mean like Reading did with Guthrie, Pogrebnyak and Shorey? Personally, i simply trust in NA and NC to buy us long term quality wherever they come from.

I don't need to chill, but I think you will find this is the "banter" site. This same "person" keeps coming on the Saints sites trying to make a case for the club to sign players who have failed to make the grade elsewhere. Well, I recall a certain Mr. Lowe who also believed that was a good policy and we ended up signing no hopers and seeing our bright stars of the future go out of the door.
This is quite evidently NOT the policy of the current owners (thank heavens) so why keep wishing for the past?
Nice to see SaintGazza showing the club have some supporters who appreciate what they are trying to do, and understand why.

Because not having any prem experience lead us to breaking a record for poor defending and had us well down the bottam of the table at the start of the year, now we have adjusted and got used to it, Reading will always be a good championship team and that's it, which is why it hasn't helped them much, we have the potential to go far with our great youth academy, management and available funds, so we should use it bring in experience players like Dawson who we know would have an instant big impact and could set an example to our young player, I think we'll survive anyway with our current team but would really like another winger, CB and striker

The third poster was desperate to get the 'over reaction of the year' award so waited until just before new years before making his move. Cunning.

Can someone please explain to me if Dawson is so great why can he not get a regular place in Spurs team? If Dann is so great, why is he not already playing in the Premiership?
Only my opinion, but I would much rather see the club bring in young players, either from other countries or the Championship, who would jump at the chance of testing themselves in the Premiership. Not convinced we want players who have been tested and found wanting.
