Just been looking at the ticket sales for Sunday against City and there are still loads of seats left for sale. On the other hand in the areas where our home support is usually strongest ( Northam End) the United game is just about sold out. So, was it a choice for some choosing which match to go to due to cost etc. or do we have many United supporters living down here that will be supporting them next week. I have a friend that was born here in Southampton and lived here all his life and never been to Manchester but is a nuts supporter of them, unbelievable I know. So if my theory is right I think the police and the stewards should be on their toes for potential trouble. As I say this is only a theory but I wouldn't be surprised would you ?
Too pricy for Grade A match tickets, so I suppose most supporters are selective. I'd already decided I'd rather go to the Spurs and Liverpool games because of everything which has happened between us. Plus the Manchester games were both picked up by sky.
I would have though people assume we have more chance of a win against United, so don't want to shell out a small fortune on a ticket to watch a loss.
Weird that my original theory was about it being in tv, but that doesn't matxh with the United game being on tv too.
Chrisdownj is right for me and i think it boils down to all them years were we we're relegation battlers most people or friends in southampton are utd, arsenal or Liverpool or chelsea fan's we're they have for the best part of the last 20 years they have been the top team's and man c have recently become a top team so naturally the glory hunters would have had no glory to attract them fans until now
