As one of the 28,000 there on Saturday evening I can honestly say we displayed a performance worthy of a European place, even if match of the day still struggle to applaude us in their limp highlight coverage, in the manner we deserve! Exciting times ahead? January transfers will be interesting? If at all needed? The greatest satisfaction watching the saints comes from our team work, respect for each other and effort. At the other end of the spectrum, witnessed against Fulham, we don't have any Prima Dona's, lazy, selfish "individuals" such as Bent or Berbatov in our team. Credit to MP! Proud to be a Saint! I also note the second club in hampshire are top of their league, well done Eastleigh! They will be playing poopey next season.
Osvaldo didn't play yesterday or your statement about lazy prima dona's wouldn't be true
Say what you will about Osvaldo but since he has been with us his attitude has changed a lot. I was sat just in front of the players box last night and out of the guys there he was the only one that really showed any support. Applauded everything that we done and really got behind his team mates. Maybe it's time for a few people to let his reputation go and judge him on what he does here.
Alan.
Isn't it funny how some fans slate our players. Sure Osvaldo hasn't set the world alight. Indeed, he's looked detached from the rest of the team when he plays, his link up play has been shoddy, and he should have had a few more goals. But let's face it, the guy is a quality player. His record in Spanish and Italian football is superb and he's banging goals in for fun for the Italian side.
Why not be a little patient and judge him in a few months time. This is a guy that comes across to me as being hugely passionate. He doesn't particularly strike me as someone that's lazy, or just here for the cash.
For goodness sake - give the guy a break.
Osvaldo's link up play has been shoddy and he looks detached from the rest of the team. You said it! But he cheated from the stand, Lambo put the ball in the back of the net as did Jrod who always runs his socks off
Agreed St Christopher and isn't it also funny how those same 'fans' never put a name to their posts. I recall defending JRod a few weeks back and Adam's also had his critics.
Lol, agree. Why don't these people register? It only takes a couple of minutes!
As for Jay Rod, I saw something different from him on Saturday. This kid is getting better and better. He scared the hell out of the Fulham defense. I hope he shouted "Megs" as he went past Senderos.
Just to say Wanyama has had some stick about his passing. Well against Fulham his passing was excellent and to show that much improvement I such a short time is fantastic news, even if Fulham didn't put that much pressure on him.
"even if Fulham didn't put that much pressure on him" says a lot!
Be patient! Not all our signings will settle in as easily as Lovren, Wanyama and Osvaldo will take time, but they both will be quality when their used to our style of play, remember that Lovren has had the most time to settle in too, I think give it another couple of weaks and they'll both be fine.
"even if Fulham didn't put that much pressure on him" says a lot!
For goodness sake! we can only beat the team that is in front of us each week.
It's about time people started saying "Saints played well" rather than the "other team were bad". Isn't it amazing how many teams play so badly against Saints? Either we are the luckiest team in the Premier league, or it's down to the work Saints put in stopping those teams from playing, and that is hard work from 'every' Saints player on the pitch, even the so called dodgy new signings.
I read an article today (not written by a saints fan!) that said Lovren was probably the BPL signing of the season taking into account just how much he has improved the team since his arrival - just ahead of Ozil.
I see the nameless sneering trolls are still present!
What is the point about these stupid comments re which players should feature? Whilst Saints are getting the results MP is hardly likely to make many changes-he can only play 14 in any one match and there are few injuries and no suspension limitations. I have confidence that players who are not currently featuring will be brought up to speed for when they may get their chance. None of us know whether during that process MP will be deciding if some will not make the grade.
