Players saints could sighn

Davide Astori (cb) £12million
Eric lamela (rm) £16million
Hernandez (st) £15million
Hope they are true

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They're obviously not true.

Regards,
A sensible Saints fan

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see lamela and astori being a genuine likeable attempt but never hernandez

Agree0 Disagree0

Astori seems pretty likely. All the newspaper coverage seems to imply something's happening there.

I haven't seen Lamela confirmed by any paper, just on rumour sites like this. The rumours could have come from somewhere though, and Cortese was allegedly in Rome.

No idea where Hernandez comes from. Can't see him leaving Utd, especially if Rooney goes. Even if he did leave, there'd be a pretty long line of clubs better placed than us to get him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think some reality needs to kick in, half the players mention'd on here have proberbly never heard of southampton let alone know where it is.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hernandez won't sign, and I really hope he doesn't

Angelo Ogbonna from Torino would be a great buy in my opinion but Davide Astori would be even better. But both and we would be awsome next season!

What about Bojan as another striker? He's unwanted at Barca, hasn't played in ages, he's a top player and could be a great signing, thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Do you mean bojan who left barca for Roma?
You have to question some people's knowledge about the world of football with posts like that.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he's free and willing to take a very large wage reduction then he's worth considering.

Agree0 Disagree0

You mean the one who plays for Roma and hasn't been at Barca since 2011?

The one who has been playing regularly for Milan/Roma for the past 2 seasons?

Good one.

Agree0 Disagree0

He doesn't get much game time at barca. as he now plays for roma

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought about him when people started saying Cortese was in Rome. (He plays for Roma, but was on loan at AC Milan last season)

He was a promising player, who's not quite fulfilled his potential yet. He's still easily good enough for us though.
He might be a marquee signing, but I think someone like Lamela is more likely.

Agree0 Disagree0

He hasn't been a regular at roma or ac milan lol

good one

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually OP is right, bojan had an initial one year deal with roma then moved again on loan to AC Milan who had a 15 million euro clause in him but decided not to buy, so he should be back at barcelona by end of the month

Agree0 Disagree0

No. OP is wrong. He was purchased by Roma with a buy back clause for Barca.

Roma then loaned him to AC with a purchase option and AC chose not to buy.

He's signed by Roma, having previously been signed by Barca and having previously had a loan spell at Milan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry, thouht he went on loan to Roma, then on loan to AC from Barca didn't realise it was made permanent. He's clearly not wanted at Roma hence why he was loaned out but I thik we could get him scroing again would be a class signing IMO

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

1st July for cash purchases

Agree0 Disagree0

Think its 1st July mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

What does everybody think of our goalkeepers for the future, I can see cody cropper becoming a great keeper when he's older, but i'm unsure about gazzaniga

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think Gazzaniga has shown he has a lot more potential than most. People seem blinded by his mistake against Norwich when actually he played a key part in some of our best results under Adkins such as beating Villa in the 4-1 at St Mary's and our clean sheet VS Newcastle in the 2-0 win. If you think back De Gea has made some very costly mistakes at United and now he's being considered one of the best keepers in the league. Gazzaniga can be that good given a chance to improve his game as De Gea has.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally disagree the diffrence with de gea and gazzaniga de gea had a very good season in spain before coming to united gazzaniga was league 2 and still is leafue 2 standard in my opinion cropper thought I am excited about looks a better prospect to me

Agree0 Disagree0

He looks scared everytime I've seen him actually looks like he dosnt want to be there sell him concentrate on cropper he does look good

Agree0 Disagree0

For such a young age codys commanding of his area is exceptional gazzaniga has not shown enuff for me to be impressed I think cropper will be number 1
2-3-season down the line

Agree0 Disagree0

Gazzaniga was clearly too good for league 2, hence why we signed him up in the first place. Gazzaniga also showed his reflexes with some of his saves to be possibly the best in the league. He has been a bit shaky but with Kelvin and Artur there he will gain confidence and technique quickly. He was often in the right place and what I've seen of him convinces me he has got the potential to be one of the best keepers in the world.

Agree0 Disagree0

Watch saints u21s regularly and gazzaniga is going to be the one as cropper really isn't that and will britt is better than them both but gazzaniga will be our no1 as he is a top keeper!

Agree0 Disagree0

Clearly our fans are divided by this, I think he'll come good as he was thrown into a defence lost of confidence, after conceding a lot of poor goals, I think he did well under the circumstances, yes he made 2 costly errors against Norwich (let's just remember it was never a free kick in the first place) and in Swansea's equaliser against us but has also made some class saves, when his confidence is restored he'll become a class player

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree that Gazziniga has looked pretty good for the under-21s this season, he's still young so I think he has a chance in the future.

Can any of you informative Banters tell me, Did Saints put a 'Sell on Clause' in Bale's transfer to Spurs? Hoping you say Yes!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes there was a sell out clause but this was sold when we were in financial trouble in return for a million (might have been 2 million) and Tommy Forecast.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah but our last owner did something wiyh it so we don't have it anymore or something like that I can't remember tbh with you, but the answer is yes we did, but now we don't :)

LudacrusS

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair we did get Tommy Forecast out of it. Saints 1 - 0 Spurs.

Agree0 Disagree0

What a great peice of businness that was

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks, Not the answer I was hoping for, but Atleast now I know. I had forgotten about the Forecast deal, Doh!

This isn't a rumour but I just thinks it's funny. I'm not sure if its just coincidence or what but a lot of the players we are being linked to are the same players you get linked to in the second season of football manager if you stay up the first year. I'm not saying that none of the signings will happen I just thought It was funny. Either the game is incredibly accurate or there are some very bored football manager players out there (myself included). Anyway if we pick up only a couple of the guys we are being linked with it could be a very good season for us next year!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

To be fair on FM when I got into the prem (before we actually did) we where linked to Clyne who I signed and Jay Rod! So it must be a bit accurate mostly luck I gues though haha
