Lallana can leave, Shaw can leave. £60M is £60M. Koeman can add that to the £50M war chest he's been promised. People seem to think that because we lost a chairman who is now out of work and a manager who has taken the cash option and shown he was using us as a stepping stone, that we are falling apart. That remains to be seen, but I can't see it. Let's see what happens. Koeman will be a step up in terms of manager, not a step back.

Lol to think the board will hand out 110m to spend, get real, u will find, as krueger said in 1st interview about living within means we may get 50m to spend but they will take that from player sales

Liverpool fan in peace.

I think it would only be right to comment on how Southampton are dealing with this summer so far.

All this talk of you guys "refusing to negotiate" or "holding us to ransom" is total BS, and I apologise on behalf of my fellow cretins for that.

The club have acted incredibly admirably throughout in my opinion.

You have said you are waiting for a manager to come in before getting to business with transfers, you have set a price for their players and you have stuck to it, no messing around just "pay it or don't. "

Then just to top it all, you make an exception for an immensely hard working player who has given his all for you guys, to live out his childhood dream and move home. You didn't have to do that.

Fair play to Southampton, truly impressed with the way you are conducting themselves.

I really hope we do get Lallana, I think he will be one of England's best players for 6/7 years, but either way I wish Soton all the best.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If you lot get Lallana our club will be in trouble and wishing us all the best won't matter. Lallana is a really key figure especially due to the high profile departures we've already been through.

Liverpool have gotten away with one with Lambert, very good deal for you and will probably do your club proud next season. I wish him all the best having been a very strong and faithful servant to our club for 5 great years.

Thank you for your sentiment RedDawn, best of luck to Liverpool for next season also, but we'd rather you left us with Lallana.

A L has asked to leave saints after world cup according too bbc sport, real shame if any truth in this.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If true, we should give him wish but at our asking price. Everyone, yes everyone is replaceable. Hopefully, a new manager will be appointed soon and we can get the in's and out's sorted quickly. I would like to see De Boer, but from the odds he looks unlikely. Laudrup is the best alternative to De Boer in my opinion. I hope the appointment shows ambition either way, i. e. not Dyche, Lennon or Maclaren, and that we all get behind the new manager and the changed squad of players that we will have.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is not exactly true, the beeb has been dumbing down somewhat in recent times and have succumb to lazy journalism, so they are now reporting the same old 'big club' favouring articles that the majority want to hear. So things like player is going to force move to 'big club' is the sort of nonsense they go for now.

I think the board have listened to the fans and given this statement today to try & reassure us of their intentions, I say thank you & bring us a manager worthy of this glorious club.

See spurs could be in for Lallana again with Townsend coming this way?and the intresting idea idea of shaw going it'd with Hernandez plus cash do you think we would be interested in either of them ed?cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If it was me I would accept an offer with Hernandez and shaw, but lallana and Townsend. Hmmm I think not

Agree0 Disagree0

The Lallana approach is fiction. Tottenham are not pursuing him as they are aware of Southampton's attitude to his potential sale. Lallana is happy to stay and Southampton will only accept a very large fee, far above the valuation other clubs have of Lallana.

As for Shaw, there is a chance of a player + cash deal, but only at the right price and with a player Southampton have a genuine interest in. It is more likely Shaw will leave without a player coming in the opposite direction if he goes to United but for a larger fee than United currently appear willing to offer.

Shaw and Lallana however both will not be moving until after the world cup anyway now as agents are banned from the England camps to set focus on the world cup.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Townsend has great potential and with cash as well as the player I wouldn't be to upset

So Sir Rickie has left. I have very mixed feelings on this, on the one hand it is absolutely wonderful for the guy, on the other hand I'm mortified, depressed and a little angry.

But, moving swiftly on, in other news today the board is said to be not budging from their valuation of Lallana and Liverpool are not willing to match it and that if Lallana is to leave this window he'd have to request a transfer, which I highly doubt he'd do. So things are looking up a bit on that front.

But the question I have for you people today is who would you want as a realistic replacement for SRL? For me Gallagher is too young and needs more time to develop before he's given that chance. For me I'd go for Lasogga of Hertha Berlin. I've already mentioned before that he wants a move to the EPL and that he wouldn't be too costly. Southampton, I've been told, have an interest in him but it is yet to develop further from that, with Spurs and Newcastle also wanting his signature. Who would you guys want?

Transfer Targets I would like to see linked:

Kovacic - Inter Milan
Kondogbia - Wolfsburg
Carlos Vela - Sociadad
Leandro Damiao
Mattia Destro - Roma
Steven Caulker - Cardiff
Davide Astori
Alexander Pato
Havier Hanandez

All Relatively cheap players and willouch saints on

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good list although I believe Kondogbia plays for AS Monaco and Kovačić is meant to lead the new Inter revolution set up by their new owner Thohir.

Also I believe that central midfield is the team's strongest position and therefore would make there two signings a little less beneficial than the others you mentioned. But once again, good list of players :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Astori and Caulker are the two stand outs in your list. If we can get those I would be a happy fan. I'm expecting JWP and Chambers to push on this year. Wouldn't surprise me if both are regular starters with Clyne on the left if Shaw goes. Cork can play back up RB and Targett play back up LB in his first season. Onwards and upwards even if we do lose a couple of players. I also unfortunately expect the same sort of attention to JWP and Chambers from other clubs in 12 months as we are getting for AL and Shaw.

Think we all need to gather some perspective here its not a meltdown like the media have portrayed so everybody should take a chill pill and look at are situation in a glass half full kinda way.

SIR Ricky Lambert has left. This is sad news yes but a brilliant end to his career at southampton he would of featured a lot less this season of that i'm sure and now he gets so end his fantastic career at his boyhood club the key is replacing the famous number 7 shirt with someone of his calibre.

I expect lallana and shaw to go. Yes I don't want them to but the board is sticking to there guns. Lallana clearly wants a move to CL football can you blame him he's been a very loyal servant and is ambitious he's taken us to 8th and he's got another 5 years left. How long could it take to get to CL if ever. Atleast the board are not crumbling and demanding his valuation be met taking into context his sell on fee.

Luke shaw if someone comes and meets the 30milliion can I blame the club selling? 60 millionish for 3 players isn't bad busniess we can sort out any financial issues quickly plus have a substantial transfer kitty for hopefully a new ambitioud manager to push us on.

Doesnt look doom and gloom to me yes we will lose a couple of fantastic players one being near impossible to replace due to his rare set of traits - lallana but even arsenal and chelsea have to sell there top players sometimes that's football.

Im really looking forward to seeing who the new manager will be and who he will bring in with the rumoured budget. Exciting times either way

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I am a bit surprised by the fact you expect both Shaw and Lallana to go and don't seem to phased by this. I expect that Lallana will be made to stay as he is an important influence on the team, a very good captain and a role model for the youth at the club. Keeping Lallana therefore is obvious and unless a ludicrous offer comes in, all indications are the board are very unwilling to sell him.

As for Shaw, it seems we are resigned to losing him still despite the fact that it is clear he can't move now until post world cup and no offer is at an acceptable level. There is a reasonable chance Shaw will leave us this summer but only if clubs decide he is worth a fair chunk more than they currently seem willing to pay or if the new manager somehow doesn't see him as that important.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lallana is the only irreplaceable player. shaw though fantastic he is 30million is silly money for a left back plus we have other good left backs in our academy.

The problem is lallana is unique and that's why you can't just replace him. That is also why CL teams want him. I can't see us keeping hold of him to push on just like suarez will eventually leave liverpool for real madrid or somewhere he's ambitious. So what can u do? Sell for as much as you can and get on with it look for a decent replacement to push us on

Agree0 Disagree0

Clubs cannot make players stay, a contract is not worth the paper its written on, if player wants to go he will go. and if a player doesn't want to wear the shirt. bugger off and find players that do. think koeman will be a good choice for us. sooner the better

Agree0 Disagree0

Whilst I agree we can't make anyone stay, no one will be sold now until we have a new manager in place and then we'll see if we can convince them to stay, it won't be a mass exodus, it's Lallana who I'm most worried about as he's the only player who keeps saying we'll see what happens whilst everyone else have said their happy at the club

Agree0 Disagree0

Llanna has asked to leave after the world cup

Koeman set to sign in next few days - in order to help him he has been offered 50million minimum to rebuild the squad and push for European place - no transfer targets are known yet and southampton will not be giving any names until manager is installed - even then it most likely our targets won't be divulged

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The transfer targets are known, the scouts have been keeping tabs on several players. The press doesn't know who they are but the club has several players they are interested in and the manager when in place will decide which ones to go for.

Also the budget is not for rebuilding, it's for building on what is already there. The only replacement that will definitely be needed is for Lambert, other players are not 'planning' on being sold.

Thank you Sir Rickie for everything you've done for us; without you we'd never be where we are now. It's shame you had to go but you deserve this chance at your boyhood team so no hard feelings. This further stresses our need to sign a top class striker. We struggled to score goals last year anyway, let alone with one of our top goal scorers now gone. I can't see Osvaldo coming back now unless the new manager can channel his anger into more goals like the one against City but I'm not sure that's really possible as I've heard he's even been causing problems in Juve so a top class striker is certainly needed. I think Lukaku would be perfect but he'd also be very expensive, Bony could also be decent but he's only had one good season so it could be a bit of a risk.

There are many among us that are so unhappy with what has been going on. but the reality is, the ONLY person that has let the fans, the club and the players down is MP! he tricked all of us into believing he cared, he loved it here. and for the likes of Shaw, Chambers, Gallagher. this is a harsh and cruel first lesson in football and greed! Someone they believed it, in reality didn't give a sh*t!
Give the Chairwoman and the board a chance. I have supported this club for over 45 years. and I have loved the last season. but MP used us to further his own career. the Liebherr family has spent millions of the their OWN money to get us where we are. Give them a chance. COYR Onwards and Upwards

As for players like Lovren etc who are supposedly unhappy. why? ONLY MP has let you down, not the club. show your loyalty. not join the disloyal MP!
