I am giving Adkins one last chance to stop playing Guly and taking off our best players. its a joke, he has lost us the game again against a Manchester team where we should have got points. I dont know what he sees in Guly or Fox (i guess we have no other LB's ready). Hoping Ramirez will shut out Guly completely and Yoshida gets Fonte out. Both are awful
So you're giving him one last chance, then what, you gonna sack him, oh no you cant because you don't count, lol
I may not sack him, but Cortese might. this is about my vote of confidence. not power. great comment though, everyone is applauding
Tell you what mate why don't you stop slagging off guly etc, there are SAINTS players you know
Totally agree, taking Lambert off left us with know physical presence up front, i.e hoof the ball up and watch it come straight back. Take off Lallana and remove any creativity. Take off Puncheon and we lost our hardest working midielder. Taking off our best players to try and preserve a lead may have worked against championship and league one teams but you can't do that against teams with as much attacking threat as Man United and City.
I dont blame adkins for gambling, but we should have picked up points, though i still stick to what i have been saying to all my friends, saints season doesnt start until after the arsenal game. Also, i despratley want to see what shaw has to offer a LB and Yoshida is a good signing to replace fonte, ramirez and lallana out wide lambert down the middle, that will cause any defence problems all season. i dont know what to do with puncheon, he has been brilliant so far this season, he should always get the nod ahead of guly and possibly be a bench replcement for ramirez/ lallana.
Tbf he put on guly for the right reasons, it made sense to put on him more than mayuka I thought, he plays back to goal better than any one we have and is more athletic (which is what we needed trying to close the game out, and he keeps possesion) , I personally think we should of bought a guly + in the transfer window because a player with his strengths is need in a squad it's just that he is championship level at what he does, kinda like the difference between jordan rhodes and rickie lambert, most squads need a player with the same strengths as him but obviously one is different class at the same role
No i wont stop. i dont care if they are saints players or not, they wont always be. all that means is that i will give them a chance in the team i love. i dont hear anyone singing Ali Dia's praises? he was a saints player. Guly has had enough chances. not a premiership player. there are many better players in the championship. im realistic, your are wrong just becuase he plays for your team. this is the premiership, not sunday league love.
I do blame Adkins. why gamble in an amazing winning position? famous saying : 'Why change winning tactics?'. Lambert is excellent in scoring, but mostly holding the ball up in the opposition half. (countless occassions against vidic). and can defend, rather like a drogba for chelsea. puncheon was playing out of his skin. completely dominating evra and making further chances. Lallana is our genius. they were our 3 best players that day. crazy decisions. just like at city. so yes i do blame him. Guly is lazy and all he does is lose the ball. we needed to keep the bloody ball.
