I heard The Family reason link on SportTalk and was in Sunday times at he time. as follows:
WINGER JASON Puncheon is expected to join Crystal Palace on a season-long loan from Southampton.
The deal for the 27-year-old is due to be completed today.
Puncheon, born in Croydon, is reported to want the move because of family reasons.

Mauricio Pochettino
Get your backside out of bed and get lukaku?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Did you think we would pay millions to loan him for the season then?

Agree0 Disagree0

No but Everton have - our loss!

Well if that's all our signings done then I'm a very happy man. We've spent good money on some great players. Sure they won't all click instantly but they will. No doubt we've made some enquirys and been knocked back quite a few times but I think we've got to remember we've got a great subs bench. Well done MP and NC, and a special mention for Luke Shaw who had all the big guns after him but finally saints got some loyalty.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm with you. There was definitely some panic buying going on yesterday and we didn't need to get involved. We don't need a pacey winger as we don't play with wingers. Shaw and Clyne give us pace up the flanks. Osvaldo will get us goals for sure once he has a chance to get used to the team and them to him. We have great youth available to be given and opportunity. One other thing that makes me proud to be a Saint is that our Academy produced the World's most expensive footballer. I am sure there are many more greats coming through.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Guys, Couldn't agree more. It seams that Silly-Season is starting to deteriorate, and I'm so glad it's over.

All in all, I feel many of our fans are failing to look at how Saints, and Nicola Cortese operate. Nicola is a man with a plan. He doesn't make snap decisions, and everything that he does do is to improve the team, and the club. Primarily, Nicola is trying to protect the team spirit within the club, while at the same time bring in great quality. Bring in too many, and you'll ruin that. Secondly, Nicola is trying to manage the club on a sound financial footing, by utilizing products of our youth academy. He has gone on record stating that he wants 50% of our team having come from our academy. Again, this limits the amount of signings.

Will we sign anyone in January? We might sign one, or possibly two, but don't hold your breath.

People should remember that we're trying to promote 2 players from our academy each year, so with the 3 signings we make, we have 5 new players.

Lukaku to Everton
I guess are special one is not as freindly with the special one
If that one happens I for one will be gutted
Would have choose lukaku over Osvaldo and would have saved a shed load of money for other positions!!

If there was no body going to be coming in it would of been nice jester if the club had let the surpporters know though the website save us checking all day and then only to find out by the sky reporters nothing was happening (CHEERS)!

Let's hope we don't get any long term injurys
Say shaw! Or lovern if so its back to bussiness as usual
Stuggleing?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If we take injuries to our best players we are in serious trouble. Everyone else has improved a lot as well, if we lose a few of our best players we're back to where we were last season and need to pull something big out the bag.

That's that then how predicable!
Same old saints anti climax!
Loads of players out and three in?
No depth!No pace!no width!no creativeity!
And to top it off no goals???
Hope they know what there doing because it would be nice if they let the surpporters in on what's going on or is it a secret!

Sorry guys. No more business for Saints this window. Shame. We need some one pacey.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Maybe they feel Omar Rowe is up to the challenge, scoring lots of goals for development squad. Why buy someone who will block another youngster from getting in the team!

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you think he's ready then? You'll never win anything with kids right? :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with this, I do think we will see Rowe and some of the other Academy players adding the depth and pace to the side. We are all happy to rave about how good our academy is but then we want to buy players to block progression to the first team. I think we have a Good balance

Great, apparently the media have all gone home because our window is finished. Leaving us with 2 wingers, guly and adam, we also need more pace and lack creativity. I hope this isn't going to be a long season

SSN's stating we are closed for business
MP has weakened the side getting rid of punch and mayuka!
We will struggle with no width

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Sep 2013 18:53:20
That's that then. let's hope there confidence isn't miss placed. Not enough depth or width in my opinion. But then it's not my money.

I think we seriously need an injection of pace, with mayuka going on loan our fastest players are Clyne and shaw, our full backs. A fast striker would be great!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree Mauricio Pochettino
Is got me worried starting to wonder if he knows what he's doing? seems to be a bit one dimensional and unable to adapt to the English game!
We've got no pace now and have no creative midfield?
And let's face it gaston is a flop can't even get in to his national starting 11
And when he has he's looked very ordanery?
An uncreative midfielder if you like!

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think Pochettino understands how important pace is in England. I don't see Saints' slow, ponderous build up play, culminating in a hopeful lump into the box bearing too much fruit. A player with the ability to beat a man or two in the final third is imperative. All decent sides have at least one. Except Saints. Going to be a long season.

Agree0 Disagree0

May be pocettino is not as good
as some fans think he is
a couple of injuries and saints
could get caught out
dont understand why billy sharp
and lee forte are still saints
players if he is not going to
play them

I thought the idea was to have depth of squad
So why are we loaning players out like punch, Mayuka
And god knows how many we've just let go for free! Now
Sharp tandari Barnard how it's this depth about 15 players out and just three in?
Yes better class of player but at the cost of depth!!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

And we've now lost the only pace we had!!
Trying to understand MoPo's thinking
But can't get my head around it!
Very strange?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Poch is losing his mind. We scored more goals under Adkins. If we played wide against Norwich we would have destroyed them. Come On Poch. GET IT TOGETHER SON.

Lukaku would be great bussiness
If only!!
Juan Mata?

Interesting read; BBCs The anatomy of a transfer: online
A Snippet: One club signed a player who broke their transfer record this summer but simply refused to pander to the agent. When the player checked in at his hotel ahead of the medical, no room was booked for the agent. No flight had been booked. Their deal was with the player.

NC? Wanayama? I reckon!

I'm a Sheffield fan. Any roumers about billy sharpe coming to Sheffield. And how come he has never got a chance in the side.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Billy could definitely do a job in the 1st/Champ divs. Never given a chance in the Prem therefore we have no real idea what he's capable of. In saying that I'm sure staff at Saints saw enough of him in training to gauge whether he was capable of making the step up. I hope he finds a club and Sheffield Utd would be a great place for him with good fans and a good stadium. He could well give you the firepower you need to get out of div 1. All the best.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oops just noticed you didn't state which Sheffield club! In that case, if you're a Wednesday fan then please accept my apologies. I wish you all the best, great club, great fans!
