Lots of running no end product and an utter failure by long.

Agree with you saint jonah

Stop knocking you lot and constantly looking for a boo boy!

We won 3-1 and you still find something to complain about unbelievable

Agree0 Disagree0

Believe we were 1-1 till long when't off. But let's face it lee Bernard used to run like mad but get nothing from it but. If he puts goals to his hunger he has the potential to be real good addition

Agree0 Disagree0

True, but it's good to have a player so committed, this window has been about rebuilding the core of our team and we need players like Long to do that and as you say if he adds a few more goals to his game he could be quality

Oh well, next week it will be Long is great and Pelle is rubbish, again!

My memory must be going, but wasn't there a lot of supporters wanting Long signed last season?

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont think it's that mate as ill admit I thought he'd b good addition its I guess down to the price tag, but then u see mccormack at 11m and david mcgoldrick at 8m and realise unfortunately that's the sign of times

roko. and the boys done us proud boys.
now let's hope the board do the rest in the next days. come on you reds.

Another terrific second half performance (perhaps Koeman should use his half-time team talk before the game), totally dominant. Wet Sham didn't get a shot away for 45 minutes.

Very encouraging. Squad still needs more depth - Les Reed can point to a club in the top six tonight to help persuade a few through the doors, perhaps?

It's always nice seeing Allardyce lose. Won't be his fault, though. Wonder if he'll blame his players or the officials this week? Thought the were supposed to be playing a new brand of passing football - they were lumping it into the box from 70 yards at every opportunity.

We absolutely played them off the park. Excellent play and nice to see Tadic and Pelle linking well. Thought Pelle has started to show why we got him.

Really pleased.

Come on board. let's have that pacy winger we need

all you doom and gloomers buck up. we got a team here, couple more players in and we will be a match for anyone, get behind your team and stop all this negative crap and support your team!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Squad is looking okay at the moment, should easily be able to achieve a survival season as it is, if we hold players and maybe bring in the right one or two additions we could be in for another exciting season (but without much chance of Europe coming from it unless we get a cup run).

I am pleased with the way we are shaping up. It's been a difficult summer but Morgan now looks focussed on saints again after a great display and we have seen some good work from the whole team. Perhaps the board's gamble will pay off, make us profitable, then build and fight the hard way for our place in Europa in the next few years. We have to have faith in our owners, particularly as their supposedly 'torn apart' team just played that well at West Ham.

I still have some worries about the prolificness of our strikers, but that was a worry last season too with many spurned chances. We look to be in good shape. The next few days will clearly be spent watching tv and on the internet eagerly awaiting our final few new faces to boost us going into the break.

Please reserve judgement for the squad come midnight on Monday though, we have still time to make signings and this squad already looks fairly capable.

Agree0 Disagree0

Morgan will show The French national side why he should be an automatic choice for their first 11! He will only do that playing for SFC.

Go on Les give him and Jacko new contracts bring in a couple of players, a CB and winger then well have a great squad. Roko is No 1manager and should be congratulated for all that he has done.

Allowing for the fact that one swallow doesn't make a mistress, can we now have a bit more support for the club?

That performance today shows we already have a very decent squad. Add a couple of players (a good, young, CB and a pacey wide man with an end product) and trusting that RoKo can work some magic on Ramirez to get him to concentrate, and then JayRod returns to full fitness and I see us finishing above last seasons position. (NB. Adam, Rickie, Dejan, Luke-just glance upwards, you could have been there!)

And congratulations to Morgan! You have the makings of one of the best players in Europe and you have showed that you have the maturity to accept responsibility and get over a set back. Stick with Saints a little longer because your development could be damaged if you follow the money too early.

If Allardyce survives that mauling then his bosses have no interest in owning a FOOTBALL club.

I wish everyone would just chill out, stop moaning and just get behind the team.

If the word in the press is right Micah Richards, Scott Sinclair and Matija Nastasic have all been told they will be allowed to leave City if offers come in. We should jump at this opportunity, unrealistic to say, but we could do with all 3 players, and wouldn't necessarily have to break the bank to get them, just haggling with wages.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Will be amazed if we go for any of them, we don't seem to be interesting any big names. Richards would be great signing. We have solid team just seriously lacking depth. We have great manager in Koeman, have to trust his judgement.

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon we'd need Sinclair and the one out of Richards and Nastasic, they would be good for us and then job done for this window anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't touch Sinclair with a barge pole. Richards, "last into training, first to leave", is your classic English big shot who "made it" at 18 and hasn't developed one iota since.

Nastasic is a prospect, though. Sadly, he's on higher wages than anyone at Saints, so it seems unlikely that - even if they could entice him to the club - they're going to push the boat out and make a young CB who might not even be first choice the top earner by a distance.

Not happening unless he takes a big wage cut.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sinclair would not be a good buy. lazy and no ambition, waste of space.
