We'll have to wrap up a deal for a CB as soon as possible if Fonte is out injured, hope it's not too serious, hopefully we can get Astori deal done soon, and maybe (I know there hasn't been any rumours about this) someone like James Tompkins who has potential and is out of favour, then we need a left winger, I have no idea who but someone like Surman could be back to act as cover for Lallana, or maybe that Wellington Nem who would be better but more costly, I'd love to get a DM maybe Jake Livermore or Tom Huddlestone who are out of favour with Tottenham and could be cheap, comon saints lets push forwards from here and forget about that 5-1 loss

Fonte out 3 weeks.

Lallana should be back in 1 week (aiming to be on the bench vs Villa). Ramirez and Clyne are fine, were both ready today but not worth risking.

With that in mind I think it's urgent that we need another CB (if one isn't signed in the next couple days, hooiveld will have to start vs Villa and we'll have no real cover on the bench).

Really hope Fonte is not out for too long as that would expose yoshida and hooiveld would have to come in. Think Fonte has grown into the premier league well. Need at least two quality defenders this window.

As much as I would love to see Surman back i don't think he could be cover for Lallana because I do believe he plays more central midfield for Norwich.

Don't think Huddleston or Surman would improve the squad

They'd add depth though, which is something we need, as we may have a lot of players but not all are prem standard

Just returned from the game today, and i must say apart from the opening 20 mins we were very poor.
Please, NA and NC bring in two centre backs a GK and cover at Right Back for Clyne as Jack Cork is sorely missed in midfield.

Goals hit us at a bad time. The talent was obviously there - as we saw in the first 30 mins of the game (and for much of the 90 against Arsenal), it's just a matter of consistency. Shipping in additional players won't help add consistency. We could do with a couple of squad additions for cover, but I hope we don't change our first XI. I believe in the current crop of players and think they are just finding their feet. A little more concentration and consistency and we will stay up.

We need a good Centre back especially seeing as Fonte is hurt.

Agree about consistency and adding can disrupt. I personally think we must stick with 1 keeper and we need at least 1 class CB. A class midfielder/attacker would be useful especially as Lallana is out.

Is Davide Astori the only player we're in for at the moment? Only person I've really heard anything solid about. I know we operate behind closed doors but normally we get a few more believable leaks. I mean papers coming up with nonsense about Dann, Hooper and Butland is expected but no real interesting or likely stories have emerged other than Astori yet.

Yossi Benayoun

Astori, Butland and Matty Phillips all have strong sources at the moment.

Ter Stegen would be a much better option than Butland
