How do we know its definitely Astori that is signing it could be someone else Victor Ruiz, Radja Nainggolan etc

We don't. Astori has said he wants his future sorted in the next 11 days three days ago, so that to me seems a little too quick. Reports seem to indicate that Saints are Astori's preferred choice of club, but it will be a close run thing. Personally I'd love it to be Nainggolan.

The Rossoblu midfielder has revealed that he has agreed on personal terms with the Bianconeri, but insists that interest from other clubs and price could hamper the transfer. Radja Nainggolan has claimed that he has settled on private matters with Juventus, but maintains that Cagliari can always receive a better offer from other clubs. Respect, templar st, but, in English, does that mean Ruiz and Nainggolan are highly unlikely?

St gazza. I copied this from "blogs. bettor. com". I thought I'd included that info but seems to have gotten lost in the ether! Other sights have picked up on it now. It only applies to nainggolan. I've heard nothing about ruiz. Hope this clears it up

Southampton still interested in Lens, who has said he would favour a move to the prem but not to a team that would stop his chances of playing for the international team. Would be an brillaint signing for saints if we can get him.

Plus he is a very fast player which would guve us much needed pace on the wings

Lens has apparently turned down a move to us in jan wants to move to a so called big club with that attitude we are better off without him.

I saw him comment on an interview that we made a bid for him last season but we are not illustrious enough for him.

He also intimated that he is not intersted in saints and would welcome other teams interest. He thinks he is too good for us!

Good point lads didn't see that bit just read a little but, according to what I have heard we are still interested in him, but if he thinks he's to big then let the big clubs turn him away and laugh when he signs for a club that are in the same position as us.

Lets be honest about this. We'd just been promoted to the premier league, and newly promoted clubs are always seen as a big risk for players who wouldn't contemplate playing in the championship. We were also one of the favorites to be relegated.

I guess now he'd think differently about Southampton

Why? just because we managed to just avoid being relegated, get real we will be lucky to sign any body of note, unless we throw silly money at them.

Can't see that you have been taking too much notice during the season. Saints form post Christmas showed quite clearly they were adjusting to the Premiership and the results against top half clubs showed they were on an upward trend. Yes, we finished 14th but much of that was down to pre Christmas form and also a number of results in the second half of the season where players seemed to get mentally jaded. (This is quite understandable for young players new to the Premiership. ) MP has noted those problems and I'm sure that is where he will focus his attention.
I think professional players will be able to identify that a lot better than you seem able to, and expect the quality of the squad to be improved during the summer without any silly money being thrown anywhere.

Also in the papers today, we are apparently close to signing 8m rated Gonzalo Bueno, who sounds class and have joined the race to sign Evian striker Saber Khelifer, I don't know much about either but Bueno sound quality

Hope this is true he is quility. But his crossing is a bit poor

Gonzalo Bueno, anyone know anything about him? I know he's a winger/striker with pace and he's 20, but a lot of people saying £8m is a gamble
