Dear all Southampton Rumours posters,
Can we please stop with the whole '' you're not real saints fan'' business. If a person supports the mighty saints, great, if not, their loss. Also how do you know if a perosn is a ''plastic fan'' unless you know them personally.

Looking at things from an even keel and considering we have signed 4 players already. We are only likely to sign 2/3 more players tops. We all know that means 1 winger and 1 CB. Personaly i think a keeper can wait until january so that we can see how gazzaniga grows as a player, you never know he could push on and breakthrough within the year, look at the ox... There is a reason why he was picked by villareal and us.

So my quation is who would ou like us to sign, state 1 CB and 1 Winger.

I reckon you are right to a degree, we should make these 2 signings a priority. We need a centre back and a winger. But I see no reason we can't make extra signings afterwards. Once we've made these signings we don't have to wait till January we can try to get another centre back and a keeper but it won't be as desperate.

Agreed, the two are top priority and wil be desperatley needed whereas i think we would be ok without another cb or gk unless injries come into play.

Our team ATM destroyed Ajax, the dutch champions, who beat Chelsea 4-0. We played brilliant football and they scored through a mistake- they didnt tear us apart and score a wonderful. We deserved to win that game and all those who have been with the team through the administration crisis will have no doubt Saints will stay up, we should be wondering if we will get European football not if we will survive relegation!

We did not "destroy Ajax".... we failed to score and conceded a soft goal. Ajax did what they needed to do to beat us, we had few shots on target, our finishing was terrible and we may have passed the ball around nicely but to survive in the prem you need a stronger back bone and you need to be clinical and not throw games away.

I am happy with our performance against Ajax, but don't be naive and say we 'destroyed' them, when realistically we weren't particularly threatening going forward and we were weak at the back. We lost because of weakness in our team, not because of Ajax brilliance.

I'm sorry but that attitude is pathetic. We lost the game. 'Deserving to win' counts for nothing and we will get relegated if you settle for just passing the ball around nicely but doing little with it and being terrible at the back.
