Blimey, according to his Twitter and Insta pages, Virgil is finally ‘ready for the weekend’. It also seems according to the same social media outlets, Wesley ain’t that chuffed about his upcoming weekend.

2nd Prem club have enquired about Bruno Martins Indi - could it be us?

jof33

1.) 14 Jul 2017 12:04:18
It's Palace.

17 Jun 2017 16:57:21
Jaap Stam is the mystery candidate.

jof33

1.) 18 Jun 2017 08:47:18
Roberto Martinez will be the candidate who's the secret one.

Apparently the Lander deal has gone through today.

1.) 09 Jun 2017 09:51:30
I believe this is correct, the position on the market has been closed out pending confirmation. I am not sure how much they value the club at but if it is the rumoured £350m they will have an 75-80% ownership. I always saw them as an asset stripping business but looking at them briefly, its not as bad as I first thought as the profits aren't taken until there business model is in place - 3-5 years (previous businesses reviewed)! But football is a different beast so it will be interesting to see their business plan!

2.) 09 Jun 2017 12:23:10
I think it was being reported as done solely on the Premier League okaying the fit and proper persons test on Lander. The actual deal is still to go through.

Long has fractured his foot in training and so misses the Stoke game. Anyone else think this could be the same as Calum Chambers stomach bug?

jof33

1.) 19 May 2017 12:36:55
Hmm possibly but its international games too.

2.) 19 May 2017 20:21:36
doubtful since he's missing international games too but would he be a big miss? I know fans like him but apart from run a lot he doesn't do all that much - if he wasn't a popular player everyone would be begging to sell him tbh.

3.) 19 May 2017 21:36:09
Fair comment that . I also feel clubs need certain differnet types of players. Simon Davis is the head down quietly going about his work, boufal is the skill flair . shane long is more than legs. he is strong and smart. Plays for fouls in and around the opposing half and in the last 20 minutes when you are struggling to break out and maintain possesion he will chase and win a foul or possession at the right end of the pitch. I am neither here or there if he goes but I like him as a player and what he brings.

4.) 20 May 2017 07:07:59
Steven Davis *.

So can we finally get Sammy Lee back now?

jof33

26 Aug 2017 16:31:20
And there I was thinking Purl was clueless with his subs.

jof33

1.) 26 Aug 2017 18:43:13
Subs weren't the issue, we still created chances at the end of the match which we should've finished. It doesn't come down to not having a goal scorer as the chances are falling to a number of different players, as a team we need to be a lot more clinical.

2.) 26 Aug 2017 19:22:02
Now how long have we been saying that Sam? Personally nothing much seems to have changed from the previous manager, if anything we seem to be less creative. I know he has a job to do to change things but scoring a few goals from the chances created must happen soon, hopefully.

3.) 26 Aug 2017 23:53:58
Right so Huddersfield are blowing out there ar*e after 70min so we take our main striker off for jwp, Tadic and Redmond were awful, but we left boufal on the bench, probably the only player who offers pace and something different oh and then bought on McQueen what's that going to acheive, when teams high press like they did you need a shane long type player to get round the back, no coincidence we were much better when he came on, just too late like the subs Wednesday night.

4.) 27 Aug 2017 01:17:05
A long time St duke! I think the new manager will come good, it's been a steady start (ish) it will take time for the players to adapt to what he wants from the team and for new signings to settle.

5.) 27 Aug 2017 03:10:14
we created more chances after the subs! McQueen being the one who created most of them

A couple were unlucky, bar a couple of fantastic challenges from Huddersfield's left back Howe (or the ball falling to a better finisher than Davis) we'd have scored a couple in the first half.
McQueen put a fantastic ball in and Yoshida took it out of Long's path (Yoshida touching it caused a dodgy offside call anyway but still)

Huddersfield are a surprise this season, they'll upset a lot of teams. For some reason y'all seem to think they'll be relegation fodder and everyone's going to put 5 past them each week

Plus, IIRC we've equalled our best ever prem start and somehow that's still not good enough?

6.) 28 Aug 2017 11:31:36
SSS. The start has been poor. We have a really easy first 4 - 6 weeks no if we aren't top 5/ 6 at the end of September I think we'll struggle. There's no doubt in my mind that the 3 sides we've played are within the weakest 5 or so in the league.

What's more worrying is the identical style and outcomes. If anything we look worse than last season. I said we'd regret sacking Puel, I'm not quite there yet but pretty close.

Let's hope Danny Rose got the spelling of Paulo Gazzaniga right for his Google search.

The new takeover means that double VD won't be going to Liverpool. Les is adamantly against him going there, KL was apparently less so and now that her day to day involvement is practically Over, I think Les is the biggest voice.

So MoPe says that Virgil isn't fully fit for full contact training and won't feature today in the friendly, and Virgil subsequently posts that he is pleased to be fully fit and back in full training, plus he plucked a Wayne Gretsky quote out too.

jof33

1.) 15 Jul 2017 19:34:01
Being match fit is completely different to being injury free though.

Cedric, Tadic, Bertrand and VVD were all grumpy under Puel and wanting away but all, except Virgil have changed their minds under MoPe and want to stay.

Surely you accept that Ross Wilson is pretty short for a grown-up?

Milky, you're right. It's the really short chap who tells Les who then tells the manager!

We wanted Fonte to stay and bring on Stephens, but he didn't hang around to do that, maybe they have asked Double VD to do that for our latest two signings? Although personally, I really can't see how Double VD can stay plus WH left Lazio as he didn't have enough game time (45 in 2 years?! ) .

Lets keep him. what's he going to do? We paid him for 9 months for doing nothing, so what is he really going to do if we refuse to sell him? Holland are very unlikely to make the World Cup, so unless he comes back what is his next move from here until the next window in Jan - go to Sprinkles and get fat?
