Wanyama is in londen with southampton to sighn personal terms don't know why it is in londen but that's what it said on sky sports tv
Believable4
Unbelievable1
It's because of the airports in London and some weird issue with getting him to land at Southampton airport. Perhaps was an objection by the club to having him fly straight here. Either way it appears to be finalised.
Agree3
Disagree0
There's been a few computer issues causing delays at Southampton airport. Maybe that's why he's in London. It could be unrelated. The thing is though. who care where he signs, as long as he signs.
Agree2

The computers are fine at southampton airport

More likely to be that certain Saints staff may be wanting to link to a flight OUT of London!

Sorry I know this is not a rumour but does anyone know when the away kit goes on sale please?
I have just read that the Kenyan FA have have announced the deal for wanyamma to southampton is done!

I think the release date for the away kit was announced with the home kit. Although the precise date I couldn't tell you it probably will be before the end of this month. Perhaps once we play our first pre-season game?
Agree0

Didn't away kit go on sale before one of our last home friendlies last season? Possibly a similar tactic this year to boost interest and sales.

as I said yesterday Wanyama will be confirmed in the morning. happy days!
Believable9
Unbelievable7
Why is that happy days? Is he better than cork or Morgan?
Agree5
Disagree6
Yes he is better. In my opinion and at very least just as good. You need a squad of quality not quantity to progress and that is what they are building. Plus VW can play across the back line as well. Don't see to many others in our squad with league titles cup medals and CL exp under there belts. Think the lad in time with his build and power and pace could be our answer to yaya at city. let's hope
Agree9
Disagree2
Agree with you on the champions league experience and versatility of Wanyama will be a good addition, but I don't think he's much of an attacking threat apart from set pieces.
Agree3
Disagree7
No I agree maybe not now but I was thinking more towards the future really with that part of my post. You never know and boy we would be lucky if it turned out that way and what a snip 12m would look then. Start of the season can't come quick enough
Agree0
Disagree2
I think the way he is better than cork or spider is that he brings more to the table going forward. He reminds me of Lampard in the run that he makes, and is something I've thought we should have for a while. Quite often I've seen the players on the edge of the box passing around to try to find someone to shoot and no one can except our strikers, granted Steven Davis changed this recently but the point still stands. I see Wanyama as Davis' replacement.
Agree1
Disagree2
Why are some people afraid Wanyama will replace a current first team player? The competition for places is important not only to keep Morgan/Cork on their toes, but also to be able to rotate the team when MP feels he needs to. Signing new players is done to improve the team/squad and to have options when someone is injured/suspended.
Agree5
Disagree0
I see it as 3 great midfielders, so yeah, happy days! -OP
Agree5
Disagree0
To the person who put "he`s not much of an attacking threat". 1. He is a very good distance shooter.
2. How is Jack Cork any more of an attacking threat than Wanyama?
I`m delighted with this signing and as he`s of a tender age, he can only get better imo!
Agree2
Disagree0
You are getting a bargain, wanyama will do realy well down south
Agree6
Disagree1
He has a lot of what we've been missing about him. He's dangerous from set pieces, not afraid to hit it (we've been guilty of trying to pass the ball into the net way to many times) and will allow spider to go forward whilst giving us some extra legs in midfield at the end of the season. He's a cracking buy
Agree3
Disagree0
Are morgan or cork much of an attacking threat?
Agree1
Disagree1
Having watched him for two years I think you will be pleasantly surprised in big vic when going forward. he can hit a 30 yard shot as good and sweet as anyone I have ever seen. He is a man mountain who will never be bossed of a ball. this allows him to surge forward when the opportunity arises. Most of you will have seen him against barca where he had a specific role to sit back and stop xavi and iniesta which he did easily but he can power forward to you have exciting times ahead hope he is a great success and he will be missed
Agree5
Disagree0
Thank you for the advice from the Celtic fans. I am very pleased if the rumours are true and he has signed. Everything I have seen of him shows some excellent class both in defence and going forward with some great room for improvement.
Agree4

He doesn't need to be as good as Morgan to be worth 12m
But by all accounts he is :)

one simple word on the wanyama deal, and that word is BUTTNER
we all know what happened there, so let's not get ahead of ourselves.
in other rumor news, saints have enquiried to chelsea about victor moses. will cost saints a reported 8million for the winger
Believable9
Unbelievable6
£8 million would be a steal for Moses. He's top banana. Fancy he'll become a striker eventually.

Not true! But Everton have made enquires

It's true. Southampton want Moses

Moses is injured lol

Hes over come his injury that kept him out of the confederations cup

When moses played against us he looked the most dangerous out of the whole Chelsea team and was the only player in the PL that gave shaw a run for his money quite literally.

Moses would be amazing, I highly rqte him, great player and a pain in the backside to defend against

Why do Saints drag out these transfers. Have we got to wait another 3 weeks or so for our next signing because I don't think Cortese can broker more than one deal at a time.
Believable6
Unbelievable4
To be fair, without the problematic agent with Wanyama the deal would have been completed weeks ago. I think it was supposed to be completed the week after Lovren but because of the complications took a couple more weeks.
Presumably future transfers won't take as long because fees would have been discussed and just a matter of medicals and signing.
I'd take Lovren, Wanyama for now. Then in the next two weeks a striker and an AM.
Agree7

Totally agree with the post above. And a winger! Moses would be a great assit but don't think we'd match his wages?
Agree2
Disagree0
For the fans, that is good. Obviously it is not a great thing for the player in terms of bedding in and getting used to our style of play but for me, I don't want long periods with nothing going on.

If you check on a web search though, it seems as though the Kenyan FA have released a statement a bit early, expressing their delight that a he will be playing in the worlds top league.

Having a medical in london. Really close to signing now!

Actually you've got it spot on lol. The deal has been finalised with photos taking place tonight & an official announcement taking place either tonight or tomorrow (more likely) prior to travelling with the team on Friday.

In London with Spurs. Where did you hear this from? Making stories up are we? Is the Kenyan FA, most of Scotland or the media get it wrong!

From a Liverpool fan. I heard you lot may be in Eriksen now that he seems to be stuck for options. He would be a quality signing for you lot. I'm not 100% but I have a suspicion that this is true.

Highly doubt it. He's a very very very good player.

{Ed052's Note - They are totally different players}
If this is real then it would UNDOUBTEDLY be the signing of the summer for us.
I doubt it is though, not because we couldn't afford him or anything else like that, just because he will go somewhere with champions league football.
Quality player

Sometimes I wonder what some Saints fans are thinking. What on earth has signing Wanyama, who is a midfielder got to do with signing Eriksson. Please engage brain before posting or better still if you're not sure about something, research it first or don't bother posting at all. UNBELIEVABLE

Hi edd are you a Liverpool fan?

According to the Kenyan FA, Wanyama has already signed. Nothing on the OS website yet though.

As much as I like lallana, but if eriksen signs he won't get much of a look in. And sadly this rumour seems unlikely
Agree3

Eriksen would be awesome. Quality player, with potential to be world class. Oh PLEASE GOD, let this one be true!
Agree3

Thank you Ed they are very different players and if he were to sign for saints it would be incredible, if Liverpool are unable to get their main man from shaktar I suspect they may renew interest with the player in question.

Never rated Ericsson. Crap manager and far too old to be playing for us! Never going to happen. Hope this helps

as wanyama was at staplewood with cortese last nights its believed the signing ill be anounced today COYR next onto damaio
Believable2
Unbelievable3
Don't be surprised if we don't get damaio as much as I would live to see it I don't think we will get him Napoli have had a bid of 18 million euros rejected so probably come back in for him although thy will be signing Jose calllejon from Madrid
Agree2

He wasn't at staplewood at all last night. not saying he won't sign, but once again someone else making stuff up to make it seem more reputable.

Cortese was at Sholing game last night, and Wanyama was in Germany. Any more lies you want to post?

"Napoli have had a bid of 18 million euros rejected" - That's because we already put in a bid of £19M, as far as I know.

Heard a rumour from a friend that Saints are ready to make a push to sign Leandro Damiao. £25m Euros should be enough to seal the deal. Not sure if it's true, but last week he was insistent that Saints were going back in for Wanyama.
Whatever happens it's exciting times to be a Saints fan!
Believable6
Unbelievable2
I'm guessing you meant Euro's but didn't have a euro's sign on your keyboard.
This equates to roughly £21.5m.
He would be a massive coup for us, but I think he's overpriced.
He sticks a lot of goals in the back of the net but I worry about his overall contribution-that I think you need in the prem. Also last season he only played in 19 of 38 league games and 0 games this season.
Agree2
Disagree2
His club have already said they have rejected 20million for an unnamed club. don't know who the club is. but this announcement is from damaios club
Agree2
Disagree0
Napoli has a bid refused and it was for Bout 18 million
Agree0
Disagree0
Why do we always get confused between Euros and Sterling? There is a considerable difference and it does mean that the reported valuation in Brazil, Saints reported offer and Napoli's reported offer then make a lot more sense regarding where any serious negotiations may be happening.
Good job NC understands these things!
