Nathaniel Clyne is the next player to move to Southampton after Crystal Palace accepted a 'mutual fee' this evening.
My source says that Aaron Martin going the other way is part of the agreement.
More to follow.

Palace said last week they are not selling at any price, this deal will not happen
Agree5
Disagree6
How is this possible ? clyne has been released by crystal palce so is available on a free.. so your sorce is wrong, 1) why would we agree a fee with palce when hes no longer there? 2) no need to send arron martin there as part of a deal, as clyne is a free agent {Ed001's Note - he is not released by Palace, they offered him a new deal, he rejected it, so he is now a free agent. But, because he is under the age of 24, Palace will be due a fee when he signs for someone else.}
Agree5
Disagree4
No palace didnt say that
Agree5
Disagree2
Clyne will go, if not to Saints then somewhere else.
Agree6
Disagree0
Which is why I said a 'mutual fee' has been agreed.
He will go for peanuts if it goes to a tribunal so Saints made an offer in the hope to avoid all the tribunal etc
Wednesday will be the day that something will happen.
Agree3
Disagree2
Clyne is one of the hottest properties outside of the premier league. Why would Palace release him. {Ed001's Note - they didn't have a choice, he was out of contract and refused to sign a new one.}
Agree2
Disagree2
Would love Clyne, fits the mould of what NC wants, top young football stars that are hard working and passionate with no ego. But big rumours that MAN U have been wanting this lad will mean we will loose out!
Agree2
Disagree2
You can say what you want but there's no way Clyne will be joining Southampton on Wednesday or any other day - The Fact that Palace have Aaron Martin on loan has no relevance whatsoever.
Agree2
Disagree3
^ Considering he hasn't signed a new deal, Crystal Palace are most probably making the most of the offer by getting the loan signing maybe discounted (Aaron Martin) and as much money from Southampton.
Agree0
Disagree0
Clyne is a free agent, so it is now a matter of who he will sign for.
Will he opt for someone like Man. Utd. and sit on the bench for a year or two, or will he opt to join a Premiership club where he will be given a real chance on the pitch?
He is free to make that choice. If he is the sort of character to go for the quick bucks and risk his future, you are right he will not sign for Saints, but then if that is in his make up, we wouldn't want him.
Agree2
Disagree0
And you can say what you like, but you cant 100% rule out the move.
Agree1
Disagree0
Clyne is not a free transfer
Agree0
Disagree0
Free agent-not free transfer. A fee will be required, but it will be nominal if it has to be fixed at a tribunial. Otherwise, it can be agreed between clubs, but will still be modest compared to a player being under contract.

The guy on the right looks nothing like Akinbiyi who is nigerian. This guy is not a nigerian for starters. The other is either tunisian algerian or morrocan and has the skin tone of someone who ir north african. I should know I live in southern Portugal.

Raidi Jahdi will help Saints try to land Aymen Abdennour who is a talented Tunisian Intl centre back currently with Toulouse. If we get him this will be a real capture as he is a rising star in the French league.

We're the third team to do any meaningful business:
Hazard -> Chelsea
Kagawi (or whatever his name is) -> Man Utd
But yeah, we're the first REAL team with REAL supporters who actually live within a county of the clubs stadium to do any real business!!
COYR!

Rodriguez is a fantastic signing make no mistake. We do need to strengthen other areas already highlighted and the fact we spent such a large sum on one player would suggest there is more transfer money available. Fingers crossed.

My understading that the Jay Rod deal was completed on Friday (medical and pay etc all done) just a couple of minor details that needed completed on Saturday regarding the Burnley end - Eddie howe wanted Chaplow as part of the deal not sure if he got him or not but i think we have offered Barnard
Also like palace, Burnley are looking to forge a partnership with saints regarding loan players Not sure Everton have the funds to offer Burnley straight away, which i'm sure will be tossed away by the Burnley camp

Reading only interested in cut price deals-they won't find any of those at St. Marys.
Why do other clubs idiots spend their time examining a Saints site? Could it be their own club is really uninteresting?
Agree7

How would reading and least of all, you, know if Fonte and Lallana had fallen out with Adkins.

£7m + Players? Jog on Eddie Howe! Your a middle of the road championship club not Real Madrid

Get real, they accepted 7mill, not 7mill + players.. chaplow is going nowhere as he has said himself a few times in the last 2 weeks..
Agree5

I would say around 25 to 30 million for the pair. hmm not sure it would be Reading who were interested if indeed there was anyone in the first place!

Aaron martins departure, coupled with Radhi Jaidi’s retirement, leaves us with just three senior centre backs in their squad – Jose Fonte, Jos Hooiveld and Dan Seaborne.
Reinforcement is needed, and it is clear that allowing Martin to go means the club soon plan to boost numbers in that department.
We have already been linked with a host of centre backs this summer.
Blackburn’s Scott Dann is a notable name, with Rovers’ relegation from the Premier League likely to mean his departure from Ewood Park.
Zat Knight, who is out of contract at Bolton this summer and is yet to sign a new deal, is another who has been linked, as has Zak Whitbread, who was released by Norwich.
Birmingham’s Curtis Davies, Stoke’s Matthew Upson and even USA international Geoff Cameron, of Houston Dynamo, have all been rumoured to be on the club’s radar too.

Yes, I have read the papers too!
But, as with most of their "informed" information I believe they are not too accurate and I suspect additions into the CBs will come from overseas.
Adkins wants the team to be able to play out of defence and I am not too convinced UK centre backs are the best at that.
