Apparently after the Udinese game the owners of Southampton increased the available money for transfers by a 'considerable' amount. Southampton are poised to bring in 5 new signings in the next fortnight. This is due to fears that Southampton are not strong enough. Few names have been put forward but one that has come up is Wilfred Zaha. Southampton look set to sign the lad for 8 million pounds. (6 million up front, 1 million guaranteed add ons and 1 million un-gaurunteed add ons).

I hope the first bit is true (highly doubt it is)
the second bit i wouldnt mind but would prefer lens (psv)

There is no way you would know this, you have just made it up because we got beaten by a team in Europe.

We will be fine stop worrying and get behind your team.

Cortese giving adkins more money for players good news pay big 2 play big just dnt end up like r stupid wages dnt get forced into paying to much wages

Agree2 Disagree0

This isnt true there is no way adkins would bring players in that quickly he always goes on about bringing only the right players in and it would be so out of character for adkins to do this ..

Agree3 Disagree0

Sorry, but I don't believe a word of it. Cortese has not been limited (I believe) on the amount he can spend.
For you to claim exactly what the deal for Zaha would be makes a nonsense of your whole statement. Even AFTER a deal was done (if) we would not find out what it was.
I certainly believe there will be more signings over the next couple of weeks, but I believe you are guessing as many of the press reporters are doing.

We do need to improve alot though 4-0 at home poor performence really :l

Agree4 Disagree2

True that

Agree3 Disagree2

Two outstanding goals from udinese and a shambles in defence from fox and fonte, stop complaining, we have to lose and move on

Agree4 Disagree0

Maybe 2-3 players coming in. We won't panic buy 5 players though and bring them in!

Just highlighted the need for a stronger defence (CB + LB) and a little pace up front wouldn't be a bad thing (RM)

No need to panic buy 5 players!

The business model that the liebher family use is not short term, they will not be selling the club at any point soon. They will build , build , build and then maybe sell who knows.

it was clear last season that we needed to improve the squad . we will do that i am sure but only the right players at the right price , build , build , build.

we are in for hard season , panic will not help . long term strategy will.

If you speak to the staff at the club including the management and ask where Nick Crtese is they will only tell you he is out of the country. He is no longer on holiday as his wife and kids were seen in John Lewis's on Friday. They will also tell you that we still have 6-7 "irons in the fire" but that money is always the biggest stumbling block. So I ask is the boss out in Europe negotiating. This is what he is good at.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

I heard from good source at club that meeting have been made at the ground at stupid oclock and nc whilst on holiday had 2 meeting with players but walcott is a possibilty but i think wages a problem.....maybe take walcott on loan as part of chambo deal ??? thoughts please!!

Agree1 Disagree4

I'm sure the staff willingly said about perspective transfers and a Chairman most have probably seen only once or twice. Seriously, put some thought into your drivel.

Agree1 Disagree1

My thoughts: absolute rubbish!

Agree1 Disagree0

We wont get Walcott on loan unless he signs a new contract with arsenal first...they won't want to end up losing him for nothing

Agree1 Disagree1

Why would we take walcott on loan as part of the chambo deal ? that deal was finalised last aug. - chris

Agree5 Disagree0

Why Walcott? He wouldn't leave would he, as much as I would want him back, can't see tht happening like you say wages! Where's the Walcott rumer cum from? BRING THEM BOTH BACK! We wish a!! Roll on next Sunday can't wait!! COYR

Southampton aren't panicking over Chelsea's interest for Luke Shaw.

The Sun says Saints are confident they will keep defender Shaw, 17, in spite of Chelsea’s £4million bid.

Arsenal and Manchester United are also keen.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

They have all been told Shaw is not for sale.
Additionally, why would a young player of 17 want to sit around as understudy to Cole? He needs to be at a club where he will get a good chance of playing some 1st team games.

Saint Martin

Agree6 Disagree0

Shaw won't budge unless a much bigger offer comes anyway. I imagine Adkins would hold him out until a bigger offer than Chamberlain came.

Agree4 Disagree0

A P.S. to my post above-I would suggest Jack Corks experience at Chelsea would be enough to prevent any move by Shaw!

I think the daily mail are saying we are thinking about putting a 6-7mill bid for Wilfred Zaha from palace I hope so I saw him against Swindon in there friendly he was all over them and is just what we need ,pace ,skilful and the next big thing

Believable3 Unbelievable4

It would be nice but I'm not sure Palace would let us have him. I mean he was brilliant linking up with Clyne at Palace but they really won't want to let him go.

Agree4 Disagree2

Was at the same friendly and agree with you although thought that any bid would have been made at the same time as Clyne. Zaha against Saints did nothing last season and got quite frustrated - didn't seem that 'street-wise' on the pitch and was letting Saints wind him up - he's young though and think he would be a good signing but hardly a priority one now. CB at least please NA.

Agree3 Disagree0

He's overrated and has an attitude problem. My nan could be all over Swindon, not an achievement. He didn't do anything against us, in both the games I watched him in, just got stroppy when he didn't get the ball.

NOT the sort of player we need. We want quality, not someone who thinks the sun shines out his arse to make up the numbers.

What do u mean "I think the daily mail are saying"?? They've either reported it or haven't?

Rumour going round that Buttner was at last nights match? Not sure how true, but i was sat just in front of the Directors seats, Roy Hodgson was there but also sat at the back left as you look at the benches on there own where two people which looked like a player and agent not sure who, i did ask and was told no comment??
didn't look like Buttner

did hear last night that signings where due in the next 48 hours, rumour on the inside last night say's we will spend over 15m in the next week?

COYR

Chalkie

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Having seen the game last night a player would be deterred from moving to Southampton.

Agree5 Disagree1

I hope so chalkie we need some new faces

Agree3 Disagree0

Thats all we've heard for the last 3 weeks, signings to be made in the next 48 hours and nothing, i hope last nights performance will give NA a kick up the arse

Agree3 Disagree3

I'm pretty sure Woy Hodgson was there to watch Udinese as England play Italy this week in Switzerland. Wasn't there last night, but the result has knocked my confidence for the prem season. Centre back much needed, Fonte was awesome in League one, a few frailties in the Championship last season so defo not premiership class !!

Agree2 Disagree0

Hang on whilst I share the frustrations that we need another couple of players to stand any kind of chance of staying up next year, we cannot and must not blame NA or NC.
Wages, agent fees and total spend all have to be taken into account seems we are too quick to remember the days of 'he who should not be named'
Boom and bust has rightfully gone. Financial stability and common sense has to count for more.

I was also sat by the directors box yesterday, and hodgson wasnt there. also neither was buttner, that deal is dead

Agree1 Disagree1

Roy was there to watch the italians and believe it or not Lallana. Was told this by my Uncles friend who spoke to him in person. And everyone saying we were shocking on saturday cant have been at the game, was never a 4-0 and there were plenty of positives to be taken. Think Davis should hang up the gloves though!

Agree2 Disagree0

Hodgson was there was sat right behind me i have a photo to prove it, i didnt see buttner, i was sat in disabled upper by the clock and two saints logos and hidgson was sat just above and of to the sude if the clock, he was there to watch dinatalie before the italy friendly next week

Agree1 Disagree0

Chalkie is correct Roy H was at the match
