A story from Spain says due to poch's connection with martino, the barca manager. We might be signing Christian tello on loan untill the season with a view to permanent if we get Europe

Believable9 Unbelievable8

This season Europe is not going to happen, we will not loan unless a permanent deal is with all the cards in our hand and we can guarantee it if we want it.

If we start playing a strong side in the fa cup then Europe could happen! With our current league position why not go for a cup run?! Tello would be awesome but I'll believe it when I see it!

Do you think that Cortese is the kind to hinge the signing of a great player on a cup run which can end very suddenly? He wants more security in his signings I'm pretty sure of that.

Agree3 Disagree3

I wasn't suggesting sign him on the idea of a cup run. I was suggesting we go for it since we won't make Europe through the league. why not go for silverware and a back door in to Europa cup. Wheter that means making signings or not. I merely stated that tello would be a great signing on loan, with or without winning thd the fa cup. In my opinion we need to strengthen at centre bqck, anything else is a bonus. Who wouldn't want a trip to Wembley and a trophy in the cabinet??

Agree4 Disagree0

Connection with martino in that case we will take pique and messi as we'll!!

Agree2 Disagree3

I do not want saints to qualify for europe this season, we just don't have the depth or numbers to cope. May sound stupid but i'd rather we try settle into the top 10 this year and maybe even next aswell then see where we are.

Agree1 Disagree5

Qualification to Europe could be a double edged sword, but if we added another 3 quality players in the summer I'd argue that we could probably cope with it reasonably well. Added to that the players coming through our academy, it would be a great learning experience for the Saints players.

Yes it may affect our league performances, but overall it would be a benefit for Saints overall stature.

a story from spain this morning. southampton are after celta vigo winger augusto fernndez.
he is currently half way through a 4 year deal, so a fee of £12.5mill has been predicted

Believable3 Unbelievable8

I had heard this before, I have to say he doesn't sound like our type. He's getting on in his career, not necessarily one of the best around and he's in a position we don't exactly need more options in.

Agree5 Disagree2

Everybody is £12m these days?
Funny that.

Agree4 Disagree1

We should be getting so much better tbh and he's 28 i'd rather get a 21 year old whos good with potential at that price aswell?

Agree2 Disagree1

I'd prefer Vigos 18 year old CB David Costas seen him play against Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Real Madrid and he's been quality, ciuld probably get him cheap aswell

Agree5 Disagree1

Apparently Saints scouts are at the Benfica v Porto game. I wonder who they are watching? Rodrigo Moreno Machado perhaps?
