Koeman just tweeted from Turkey, could that mean he's there discussing the Galatasaray job?

Often browse this site, only just registered, eds information normally spot on. if it is Steve Bruce not the worse manager we could have

I googled koeman a few hours ago, there was an article saying how 'koeman would get over his disappointment on losing out on the saints job to steve Bruce, by holding talks with galatasaray. Although he isn't the only candidate. '
I personally can't see Bruce leaving, he has built a good team and I was a big admirer of hull city last year. I think we could do worse than Bruce. But I still feel koeman is in the running

Ok I am completely lost if we are going to go with Bruce, nothing against him or hull but we'll he jumps ship whenever he can and doesn't play a style of footy that suits "the southampton way" plus hasn't won as manger what reed says are import at for new manager. But does reed (reading between the line means player /manager has won?) I think Koeman still leads the from the little info I can get out of people, other name mentioned is Lennon though again I'm not sure I'm with that one. Oh well let's wait and see and who knows they might well pull a top manager out of the bag yet.

Doubt he would leave feyenoord for Galatasary unless he didn't get the saints job. Well known he wants to manage in the premier league

I would be shocked if Galatasaray haven't spoke to him. That doesn't mean he is going there though. Pros and cons. Galatasaray have europe but are in a poor league. We haven't got europe but are in one of the best leagues in the world. Hopefully he will join us. if he doesn't then there are other good candidates out there. Poch was a relatively unknown before he joined us. Wouldn't be surprised if we appointed someone similar.

So Ed Steve Bruce will be our new manager?

Surely he wouldn't want to give up European football to come for us? But whoever the new manager is, they will have their own targets, I think we were interested in him due to Cortese's Italian links

If steve bruce gets the job I will give up on saints after 37yrs of going thru the mill!

{Ed002's Note - I am not so sure he will take it but the feeling is that he will - they should go for Dan Petrescu.}
So ED has Bruce been offered it? I hope not. have talks stalled with koeman?

{Ed002's Note - Koeman is no longer an option. He is talking with Galatasaray.}

Lol, Edd come on mate! He is having you all on guys! There is no way on earth that Bruce will be named manager.
Reed has stated top managers that have won leagues, cup, even European titles! So there is no way on earth it will be Bruce.
Shame in you edd

Im sorry but I am filled with gloom, I can't help thinking that all the upheaval, disappointment and departures, and delay, soundbites from Reed have to do with KL refusal to invest adequately to get us within reach of the Champions League, we have come so far only to possibly fall short.I think Kl owed it to the club and its fans to be transparent, f she didn't believe in her father s project, surely the thing to do was quit sell the club to someone who is prepared to go on with it. If we get Steve Bruce our best players will all leave he is not the caliber of manager this club now needs.

Guys - if it's Bruce, remortgage your house, bet it on him and then you'll have enough money to buy the club yourself! Mischievous Ed, but good on you. One back at the team ;)

Saint IQ. If he is on holiday there it would be odd timing considering we have been/are/will be talking to him and seems slightly at odds with the ideas mentioned by others that there were still concerns to sort out with budgets. I wouldn't want to go on holiday with things up in the air.
Having said that. If he is talking to them, it doesn't mean he would go to them. Keeping his options open would make sense and if necessary act as a bargaining chip.

With the technology we have at our fingertips, does he really need to be in Southampton to negotiate with the board. It isn't 1914.
