Pablo Osvaldo is expected to sign for Southampton before the West Brom game. The Italian international has recently pulled out of international duty with 'injury'.

Believable9 Unbelievable10

What a load of old tosh, he's injured and not important to Argentina's national side anyway so they aren't going to make a fuss.

Agree5 Disagree18

I've heard that he was getting called in since Balotelli was injured during a training session.

Agree4 Disagree7

He plays for Italy.

Agree11 Disagree4

But how much for? His price seems to have dropped from £20m £18m £15m now at £8m! Maybe if we wait long enough, we'll get him for the same as Sir Rickie £1m and he'll play for £10k per week. Still not convinced he's the striker for us

Agree6 Disagree1

Osvaldo is Argentine. Not Italian.

Agree8 Disagree7

He is Italian. Born in Argentina.

Agree9 Disagree1

He was born in Argentina but plays for Italy.

Agree8 Disagree1

I'm probably not the first to point this out, but he qualifies for Italy because of a grandfather or great-grandfather or some such, and he already has 8 caps for Italy.

Agree7 Disagree1

He must just enjoy wearing an Italy shirt for photos then!

Agree6 Disagree0

He is Argentinian but plays for Italy.

Agree6 Disagree1

He plays for Italy you 'so called footy statos'

Agree5 Disagree1

Press have continued to link us with osvaldo, and he by far would be our most proven and ambitious signing, regardless of his personality. But it's just not going to happen. He has already expressed his desire to stay so enough is enough!!! In other news we are still in for damiao and is expected to sign Friday.

Agree1 Disagree8

Oh please stop these silly rumors that has absolutely no foundation in reality. Damiao declined cuz he didn't think Saints were ambitious enough!

Agree3 Disagree5

Damiao signing on Friday would be such a p*ss take. Just out of time to play against West Brom who we will struggle against. They were great last season and despite losing Lukaku they have improved with signings like Vydra and that Uruguayan centre back I can't remember the name of.

Agree3 Disagree3

Diego Lugano

Agree3 Disagree1

I don't think he actually wants to come to us end of. Personally I'd rather see Damiao in a saints shirt but he's declared we are not ambitious enough. I imagine he means big enough.

Agree1 Disagree1

Who gives a toss what bleeding country he plays for!

Agree3 Disagree1

Born in Argentenia with Italian father. moved to Italy and therefore qualified to play for both but chose Italy

Agree3 Disagree2

The people who know what to believe are normally the bookies. Just to let you know that Osvaldo is now 2/1 favourite to join Saints from 3/1, however, still seems too good odds for bookies. Obviously something is happening and I think it is really down to the player now because I am sure that the clubs have agreed terms.

Agree0 Disagree2

Lots of silly rumours about Osvaldo at the moment. So what's the truth?

Like many here have said Osvaldo is Argentinian, but qualifies to play for Italy.

For those people saying that he has landed in Southampton, what a load of rubbish. He is currently with the Italian squad, and is rumoured to be starting for Italy tonight.

Saints offer to Roma is rumoured to be for a total of 20M Euros including bonuses and add on's. According to reports from SlySports Italia Saints have improved their offer to Osvaldo to approximately 3m Euros a year, compared to the 2. 4 offered by Wolfsburg.

Like many of Saints signings, it seems Nicola Cortese is prepared to be patient to get his man. There has been a lot of negative talk regarding Osvaldo, but if we sign him, I for one would be over the moon.

A private plane from Italy is expected in Southampton airport at 20:00 tonight?
Could this be osvaldo?

Believable5 Unbelievable12

Prefer Destro, Lamela, Belfodil, Muriel, Livaja, Gabbiadini, Paloschi, Ibarbo, Sau, Dybala, Hernandez. Just to name a few. Basically can be loads of people.

Agree8 Disagree4

Mmmmm sounds like the Pope coming to give a few blessings!1

Agree7 Disagree0

And how do you know this private plane is coming in at 8?

Agree3 Disagree0

No coz he was with Roma in america

Agree4 Disagree2

Bet some gullible fan is up in viewing gallery right niw waiting for this make believe flight to arrive lol

Agree6 Disagree1

Osvaldo is expected to be playing for Italy in place of Ballotelli so very much dought he will be signging anytime soon.

Agree2 Disagree5

Because I work at the airport.
Just finished work now.
A private plane did land but it was not osvaldo lol.
But was someone and met by security and huge black range rover.

Agree5 Disagree2

Anyone else imagining a certain persons boat being seen in southampton a few years ago.

What a steaming pile of poo

Agree4 Disagree0

It's not uncommon for a private plane to arrive at an airport. Doesn't mean a player necessarily.

Agree1 Disagree0

The private plane seemed to have Flybe written on the side of it.

Agree3 Disagree0

Hes a bit of a bad boy though isn't he
