There are reports in the Italian press that Southampton are lining up a move for Eljero Elia. A 25 year old Dutch international winger. But that's all I know about him

Believable14 Unbelievable4

Would be good, is on the transfer list. but will cost in region of about £8-10 million.

Agree9 Disagree2

8-10 maybe with a bit of talking we could get that figure down a little bit. But we've shown with the Jay Rod deal we're not afraid to spend that sort of money.

Agree11 Disagree3

He has dipped in form of late hence Juve getting rid.

Should not pay more than £6m and in my view would be a gamble.

Agree9 Disagree3

Don't see the fee as being a problem, if the player is really worth it. However, the salary could well be and I don't see Cortese breaking his current rules-even for Messi!

Agree5 Disagree2

Poor scoring record, lack of first team football and now 25.
Massive gamble and probably better as a loan with option to buy

Brek Shea has agreed terms over the phone and will undergo Southampton medical within week IF he passes work permit - team expect no problems with permit appeal but the deal depends on this + medical

Believable9 Unbelievable4

I had a look at his statistics and he has 89 appearances 19 goals and 12 assists sound ***t

Agree1 Disagree4

We would be better trying to get Clint Dempsey if we want an American.

Agree2 Disagree4

Hope not looks like he may have a Jedward fixation, plus as our domestic football is generally considered to be a winter game if we have a bad winter snow n ice and all that he could literally "go missing". Oh and his stats if true aren't premiership standard.

Agree2 Disagree6

Looks like someone can wiki... hes only 22 and in the last 2 seasons has shown real promise. Hope this happens

Agree5 Disagree0

As I understand it, Shea is an attacking midfielder, not a forward. So, there could be some logic to it.

Agree3 Disagree0

19 goals and 12 assists FOR A WINGER. Those are incredible stats. And he's only 22.
That would be an awesome signing.
Dallas also snows in the winter, if that's such a big issue.
Look at those idiots Man City. Buying David Silva and Aguero. Players from hot countries who don't score many goals....

you telling me he's rubbish! watch him play and **** before you judge

Agree3 Disagree1

That video proves he's crap! he's scored a couple of good goals yeah, but then the rest of the "highlights" are him knocking the ball past one player or giving it away... I'll stick with Jay Rod, Rickie, Lee and Sharpe thanks.

Agree5 Disagree1

Thats him playing against americans and there crap

Agree1 Disagree1

Can't understand why some of you guys think he is a forward. From his stats. seems he is a mid fielder who can play across the middle, but mainly on the left hand side.
Could be a useful addition to back up Adam, now that Holmes has gone.

Agree2 Disagree1

You are obviously non Saints trying to wind us up.
I suggest you crawl back under the rock from whence you came

Agree0 Disagree0

He plays for the American National Team and is only 22. He can play left-midfield and possibly on the right side of it as well. He would be a great addition as he would fit in with the team's style of play. Would be a brilliant signing!

Agree7 Disagree1

As above spot on!

I have heard that Billy Sharp's agent has been offering him around....

Believable2 Unbelievable20

You don't give up , do you?
Just get back on your own site.

Is there supposed to be some law against Saints having 4 top forwards, like every other club in the Premiership??

Agree10 Disagree0

Well this is my first post and I have it from a board member at a Championship club that his agent is offering him. Not saying I agree with the decision.

Agree0 Disagree5

Not every team in the prem has 4 top forwards, there's a lub called liverpool with none...

Agree11 Disagree0

If so, sounds like a pretty poor agent to me who would offer Sharp the superb opportunity of dropping from the Premiership to the Championship!!

Agree5 Disagree0

Board member my ar$e.

Ryan dickson wont be going back to yeovil town on a permement deal. gary johnson has said in yesterdays loacal paper that he would love for ryan to sign. but now southampton have been promoted he has been priced out of a move.
since the promotion, dickson had a clause in his contract that doubles his wages following promotion

Believable8 Unbelievable1

FC Dallas attacking midfielder Brek Shea set to join for £2.5m, he's going to fly over and have a medical within the next few days.

Believable9 Unbelievable6

How do you know this?

Agree1 Disagree3

He doesn't.

Agree2 Disagree1

Links with the club mate. Don't have to believe me, you'll see it come true soon enough :)

Agree1 Disagree2

Is Brek Shea any good?

I herd we could bet bringing nathaniel clyne to st marys
A crystal palace right back who plays England in under 21s
he's out of contract so free and said he wants to go to a premier league team hopefully we can sighn him

Believable7 Unbelievable4

For the millionth time, he will not be free. A tribunal will set compensation for Palace.

Agree2 Disagree1

Would be fanstastic if we can. It sounds like we're after young players like Clyne judging on most of the rumours with Jay Rodruguez and Jack Butland. This is plausable.

Agree1 Disagree0

This is pretty old "news", perhaps it appeared recently in the Echo!

Clyne is available, and a number of Premiership clubs are looking at him, but although he is now a free agent any club will still have to pay compensation to CP (because of his age). That compensation will either be decided between the buying club and CP, or failing that, by tribunial.

Agree3 Disagree0

It will go to a tribunal because he is under 24, meaning he's not really on a free!!

Agree2 Disagree0

As good as.

Agree0 Disagree0

You can still say he is on a free, calm down. Technically he would be on a free.

Players always have signing on fees, even if they are free... but you still call them free! The point is that we wouldn't have to pay a big, over-priced sum - we would pay minimal compensation.

Agree1 Disagree0

You can say what you want, Clyne won't be joining Southampton - Ever! He's wanted by bigger clubs who have aiming for more than just survival
