I would like to follow up the Jack cork rumour. I have now been told not going to happen to villa he was umming and ahhring about decision anyway (hence why I said 50/50) and no personal fee could be agreed.

Believable2 Unbelievable11

'Personal fee?' Do you mean a fee or personal terms?

Agree2 Disagree1

Stupid made up rumor. He was never going to Villa as he's an important part of MP's match day squad, and he will play a big part on the pitch during a long season with lots of games.

Agree4 Disagree0

No. It was never going to happen

Agree3 Disagree0

I'm sure he was always in Pochettino's plans. Wanyama and Schneiderlin can't both play every single game.

Agree2 Disagree1

For all those who say stupid made up rumour you really don't know what your talking about I suggest you get back to playing Fifa ( appologies personal terms is what I meant) I think if I was going to make rumours up it would be more exciting than this. like everyone saying Osvaldo is signing or signed or going to this team that team ZZZ

Agree0 Disagree1

I've heard that Fulham are in for him. Getting on for 90 seconds yesterday after being so pivetal in our midfield last year (not a coincidence that our results picked up early season when Jack was back in the team after injury) might make him reconsider his position at Saints. ?
Jof33

Agree0 Disagree1

Pivotal - damn spill chuck!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol Cork isn't going anywhere, we need 3 midfielders in his position to rotate and keep each fresh, so he got on for 2 mins yesterday, he'll probably play the whole next game. I'm sure he, Morgan and Wanyama all realize that and are happy with that

Osvaldo's signed! - FACT!

Believable6 Unbelievable8

If he has signed but I doubt it but may happen soon, I think it shows what a great job NC and MP are doing. Probably get slaughtered for this but I just think they are trying to clear up some of the mess caused by Nigel Adkins in his final months. God we bought some awful players who we can't even get rid of now. Remember Rickie was bought by Alan Pardew. The main squad was already there. I am in line for major flack but this is what I believe and I think SFC is a far better club now due the very controversial action taken by NC.

Agree3 Disagree2

I have to say this is looking very likely indeed. Loads of movement on the net and some real silence before the storm as well. His agent is in London this evening looking over the contract and it seems the player himself is keen to link, up with ponch having said that's"at times I want to kill him as he works me like a dog, but, he gets the results" and that it was ponch that got him firing first too

Agree1 Disagree0

If I was spurs I would leave him well alone and let him join southampton. {Ed008's Note - Osvaldo is a terrible terrible player I don't understand how he's rated by any manager.

Agree0 Disagree3

^ post up there is spot on, I'll probably get a lot of flack too, but I don't rate nigel at all. Yeah he got us promoted but with the squad we had my nan could have. Most of our squad was signed by Pardew and nigel made some of the worst signings we've seen

Agree1 Disagree0

Clyne, Rodriguez, cork. All signed by Adkins. I could go on. Yeah there were a few bad ones. And don't get me wrong, I'm very happy we've got Poch in charge and do believe that he will take ud to the next level. But Adkins should never be slated! The man loved the club and never done us wrong!
He will always be in the history books as the man who took us back to where we belong!

Agree7 Disagree1

Adkins did make one or two bad signings like taking Fox when other left backs probably would have come. However you must remember he wasn't doing the signings himself, Cortese was heavily involved in all dealings as he always is. Plus Adkins signing of Cork was one of the best deals we pulled off to take quite such a player in the Championship.

Agree0 Disagree2

Roma website still has him to join Spurs, saying he refused Saints.

Agree1 Disagree2

He signed friday night. Saints wanted to get the game out the way & give the boys. 24 hrs of glory before PO steals the lime light. he's on bourd guys. We're covered all over the pitch now. i'm slightly edgy about LB cover but I know clyne can play there

Heres to a good season saints fans!

Agree0 Disagree3

No a fact yet but very close, a fee for the player has been agreed and a club highest wage offered, however terms haven't been agreed atm.

Agree0 Disagree0

what a load off bull! how the hell do you know info like that? oh wait you dont!

Agree1 Disagree0

If we sign Osvaldo we have a starting XI to be a top 8 team comfortably provided we can keep them fit.

For squad depth I'd like another CB and LB though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Latest rumours are saying the personal terms will be finalized this afternoon.

Expect him to complete a medical next week if all goes well.

Agree1 Disagree0

Wasn't slating Nigel, I was just saying that I think the Premier League was too big a step for him in his managerial career. I think you will find the players we signed who were any good were NC's decisions. The likes of Forte, Fox, De Ridder, Lee were Nigels. I'll forgive him for Billy Sharp, good player.

Southampton are stepping up their interest in Derby County midfielder Will Hughes after being priced out of a deal to sign Ever Banega after Valenica increased Banega's valuation from £10m to £15m

Believable2 Unbelievable5

No idea if it's true, but Hughes is a brilliant player in the making.

Agree4 Disagree2

Young and English would love Hughes at St Marys

Agree5 Disagree2

Priced out? We could afford 15mil and still have a load spare. Doubt we're after him, we're going for higher quality these days

Agree1 Disagree0

Derby want £13 mill for him. I say not a chance at that price. £4mill max

Agree2 Disagree0

If it's the bleached blonde haired kid, then I agree. I watched Derby play a few days ago and he really caught the eye. Having said that, I'd age £20m for Ross Barkley at Everton right now. What a star he'll be!

Agree2 Disagree0

This would be great

Agree0 Disagree0

He'd fit our model, and he's going to be a superb player. One for the future, and as a decent sub for now. Not convinced we're in for him but if we signed him for anything around 12m and under it'd be a great investment.

I'm hearing the the Osvaldo signing is done and he's agreed to join Saints.

This evening he's been pulled from the Roma team, and is travelling back to Rome.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

I also have read this. Very interesting. Hope he does sign, we looked like we needed another striker today as lambert worked incredibly hard all game.

Agree2 Disagree2

Well if the rumours were true Saints had given roma a deadline for a decision. Fingers crossed.

Agree1 Disagree1

I'm hearing the same. Fingers crossed that this now can be put to bed.
And, if it does happen, I trust NC/MP that they will have added another player who can take us up another notch. For the doubters, just look at the questions concerning Lovren and the difference he made today.
But then there are still another two weeks and I would expect at least one further addition.

Saint Martin

Agree4 Disagree0

Yep. He has been dropped from Roma team for this weekends game.

Agree2 Disagree0

Where are you getting this from I've scoured the net and found nothing

Agree2 Disagree1

He's left the Roma team apparently due to injury, but further updates are apparently due tomorrow

Agree1 Disagree1

Why are all those people who said that we didn't want him want him now. I have been informed that all those things he is supposed to have said weren't true and were made up for media headlines. He is a fabulous finisher and we need that. If he does sign and don't rule out Banega signing as well we will be the full package. Maybe then the rest of the football world will notice us. MoPo and NC will be the envy of the Premier League. New stadium within 3 years.

Agree2 Disagree2

I haven't seen this anywhere, but anyway don't you all think saints looked solid today?

Agree3 Disagree0

I'm so confused on this. Half the internet's saying he's coming to us the other is saying he's going to Spurs.

Agree3 Disagree0

Spurs are still very much in for Osvaldo

Agree0 Disagree0

We looked solid but really never looked like scoring in open play. Need a top finisher.

Had a good laugh when my colleague told me this one, apparently following our failures with Damiao and Osvaldo our new target is Alexandre Pato of Corinthians. If true Cortese has clearly lost it. Please take note I don't consider this a serious rumour but it's a good laugh.

Believable9 Unbelievable1

It maybe a long shot but for me a good natural forward and a long term replacement for lambert is Le Fondre. Cracking 1st touch and can play for 90mins week in week out! Seriously should be our main forward transfer target

Skippysaint

Agree1 Disagree15

Le Fondre is not a replacement for Lambert, they are very different players. Le Fondre is a good striker but he's a nippy little forward Lambert is a powerhouse striker with a solid finish.

Agree10 Disagree1

More chance of pato than either damiao or osvaldo
pato has been in a champions league club and is now back in his homelands.
damiao has still got to go to a big club
and osvaldo could go to a bigger club

Agree2 Disagree8

We already have 'good' premier League players as it is and we have top quality players coming through for the future. We need great players now, like Lovren and Wanyama, to take us to the next level. That's why we've been looking at players like Osvaldo and Damiao and not at players like Le Fondre

Agree6 Disagree0

The thing with Le fondre he can use his head and both feet quality player imo, we should defo sign him! Could really add another dimension. And in time replace lambert

Agree0 Disagree8

I'd love Pato!!

Agree4 Disagree1

Le Fondre could not even get a full game with Reading last season but was used as a sub. Suddenly he is good enough for Saints? Nice to see you are still active, Mr. Lowe. LOL

Saint Martin

Agree8 Disagree0

We haven't failed with Osvaldo. watch this space

Agree4 Disagree2

I really hope the Lefondre fan is trying to wind everyone up! More for his own sake!

Agree4 Disagree0

Get the natural finisher and top 10 easy. Must have a quality player who only needs one chance and we have cracked it.

Agree3 Disagree0

For all you doom and gloom merchants the odds on Osvaldo signing have shortened since this morning when you were all saying he wasn't coming. Don't believe the media they are just about as good as weather forecasters.

Agree2 Disagree1

Not to get picky here but the weather forecasters have improved significantly with them being mostly accurate nowadays.

Agree2 Disagree3

Tell Michael Fish that!

Agree1 Disagree0

Michael Fish was ages ago. They get it mostly right these days due to better equipment and understanding of weather patterns.
