Butters off.. wont happen now, he was back in training with vittese today - chris

Agree4 Disagree4

Its still on actually, hes hes not been included in their new squad photo so he is off, weather its to saints or not know whos, but i would have thought talks were still on going, also on his facebook he updated his intrested to southampton and this was yesterday

JustASaint

Agree10 Disagree2

He isn't coming here.

Agree4 Disagree5

I didnt say he was, i just said hes not staying at his current club, and saints are obvs main contenders. check his FB if you want, but only time will tell

JustASaint

Agree6 Disagree2

He will join saints, just you wait and see.
Summers.

Agree7 Disagree3

Butner deal has fallen through. Fact

Agree3 Disagree4

No buttner deal hasnt fallen through FACT! Otherwise it would be all over the Internet
Summers

Agree2 Disagree1

Havn't seen a single thing to suggest thats fact. anywhere.

Agree5 Disagree0

Buttner not playing for Vitesse in Europa cup match today so would assume he is going to another team at some stage.

teejaysaint.

Agree7 Disagree1

Butter isn't in vitesse squad training and isn't listed on their player profiles on their official site. Doesn't mean he is still coming to us but he supposed to still be their player!

Agree4 Disagree0

Buttner is coming to saints, he is even more cooler than Danny fox
Summers

Agree2 Disagree4

Clyne also now. OHH YEAHH...

Transfer time frustrating isn't it

i reported that the Clyne deal was pretty much sorted over the weekend and Pic's had been taken, my understanding is punch has been offered as part of the Zaha deal not the Clyne deal, could also see richardson go aswell?

chalkie

Believable7 Unbelievable8

I don't think Richardson is going anywhere. We need him. Rotation option for right back.

The Buttner deal may not go through because Aktins has found another potential suitor in Bryan Oviedo.

Perhaps even better than Buttner and has all the same qualities

Believable8 Unbelievable3

I seen on his facebook page in the last day he has changed his interests to southampton fc is this an indication to signing for us thoughts anyone

Agree7 Disagree1

Oviedo is quite good, although not much of a defender. so my guess is any deal for oviedo would be for cover on the left wing rather than in defence. i've watched him here for fc kobenhavn and he'll be a good player, thats for sure, so would be a good signing for us
-icesaint

Agree4 Disagree0

Hmmm, not sure whether either truly suit us. Why left sided attacking players? We need a right winger surely?

Lenny

Agree5 Disagree1

They are both attacking LB's

Agree3 Disagree0

We must be planning to overlap our attacks down the left wing. Fox gets forward and scores goals, so you need a left midfielder capable of covering his forays. Even better if both left sided players are threatening.
Am not so sure we need a right winger if we swap Lallana to the right. Could work well with De Ridder?

Agree1 Disagree1

Fox score? More like Fox get forward all the time and rarely puts in a half decent ball but frequently found out of position for defence. Fox nearly cost us promotion. Don't like him.

Agree3 Disagree8

How can you not like fox!? He was one of our best players, if anything if say he helped get us promotion, who set up a ton of goals forward last season, fox. Who held his own in defence and tracks back really well seeing as he goes forward alot, fox. You see players like Glenn Johnson doing thr same but not getting back, at least fox works hard.

JustASaint

Agree8 Disagree5

Fox was out of position so many times last season, he also gave them SO MUCH time and space to cut inside or get the ball in the box. If you disagree clearly you dident go to St.Marys many times last season..

Agree5 Disagree5

You dont like Fox? Wasnt he the 6th highest assist provider in the Championship last season? Fox was excellent for us last season. The only surprise was how much Harding raised his game to compete for that place.
mssaint

Agree6 Disagree4

I went home and away many times last season. Fox cost us a lot of goals and wasted many good chances by blasting crosses out of play or simply making bad decisions. He's also a dirty git who will be a liability in the Premiership. As for scoring, you clearly don't know what you're talking about. Benali was a bigger threat. Fox got most of his assists from corners and again, most of them were awful. When you have a good passing side with talented forwards and you're always bombing forward yourself and taking 10+ corners a game, you should get bags of goals and assists... but Fox hurt the team more than helped. Harding was much more reliable and solid. We need a better LB. Glad we have Clyne as I thought we needed a better RB too whereas everyone seems to be panicking about CB. Jos and Fonte will be fine, just want more back-up. A classy winger should be next signing.

Agree3 Disagree4

We each have our own opinion, and so do many others, lets just see what NA does.

JustASaint

Agree3 Disagree0

There's no difference in signing a left or right sided winger because Lallana can play on both sides. He has been playing on the left pretty much all season so if I were NA i'd be looking at a left sided winger in order to allow Lallana to play on his natural side.

Dave

Agree0 Disagree0

All have opinions, yes, but anyone claiming to have seen a lot of Saints games that doesn't rate Fox wasn't watching the game.
He is the quickest player we have at the back, is excellent with a dead ball and quite often it was only because of him covering for our pace challenged centre backs that we didn't leak more goals.
Easily the best left back in the Championship last year, has learnt a lot since coming to us and will be a transfer target for some of the 'big' clubs next year

Rayo have accepted a bid on £1,57 million for michu from swansea city. looks like that transfer to saints may not happen unless you put a bid in now - chris

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Hmmmmm, with a bid as small as 1.57m I think we should match the offer and let Michu decide.

Lenny

Agree3 Disagree1

Surely he's worth more than that? As the highest scoring player in his position last season, I'm guessing this is just a move by Swansea to see who else is interested.

Agree4 Disagree2

Has a bid really been accepted? It says on the main rumour site it has been rejected. And if this is his price, how good is he?
Besides, how many bids were "accepted" for the Icelandic guy, from various clubs, before it was decided where he would go?

We will see, but there is this other factor of meeting the new 25 player requirement, and with extra berths needed for GK, CB etc. it is going to get tight!

Saint Martin

Agree2 Disagree0

Hes worth alot more than that, but because rayo are in a financial problem, they are offloading players on the cheap. his market value is only £3.5 mill. which is still cheap, but i think saints should say theres £2 mill - chris

Agree1 Disagree1

We dont need him now.

Trev

Agree2 Disagree2

Saints would have to out bid Swansea cause given the choice I think he would rather plan for but u never worth a punt rather have him than buttner

Agree0 Disagree4

Michu would be great for us, we need a creative player who makes runs from center midfield who makes things happen.

Agree3 Disagree1

Swansea already ahead in deal cause of michus close relationship with laudrup. Don't think fans realize how weird laudrup managing Swansea is. Like maradona managing Brighton!

Agree1 Disagree0

Rumour in Everton that Rodwell has handed in a transfer request, so maybe we are looking at other options?

Saint Martin

Agree1 Disagree2

Were not going to get rodwell, hes way to much money and we now have davis, cork and schneiderlin, also with buttner coming i can see lallana moving more into a middle role

Agree0 Disagree1

We wont get Rodwell, hes far to expensive for us and we now have davis, cork and schneiderlin, if buttner coming i can also see lallana move into a more central role

Agree0 Disagree0

We will bit for Michu at that price if we are actually interested in him. We can easily afford that and any lack of movement on our part shows we don't care and have therefore not missed out.

Lost

Agree2 Disagree0

Agree we need an attacking Central Midfielder and someone to create space for us, but if Zaha is the other option, which sounds like it might be, I'd probably rather go for him.
Always a risk buying mediterranean players as you don't get much time on the ball and they struggle to deal with the pace of the English game.
Not sure what the fuss is over Rodwell. He may be a future great Central Midfielder ala Brian Robson (?) but his development so far seems to have indicated that he is an injury liability.

I hope we sign Clyne too ;)

Summers

Good ol' Clyde.

Lenny

Agree3 Disagree0

Lol hope bonnie is coming with 'clyde'

Agree3 Disagree1

1.75 m and we get Bonnie as well. It'd be great for them to link up going forward on the wing, all guns blazing.

Agree1 Disagree1

Dont get too excited. we all thought this about buttner , fingers crossed that this will be our 2nd transfer this summer without any problems lol- chris

Agree1 Disagree1

You took a 'right turn Clyde'.

Sorry

Agree0 Disagree0

I actually can't believe Clyde is coming to Saints, what a capture, all this talk about Clyne joining and the press had it wrong

Agree2 Disagree0

Sorry! Meant clyne (autocorrect) ;)

Jonathan Forte still on Torquay Utd's wishlist although they're pushing it as he's a decent striker, also because Crawley Town, Notts County, Chesterfield, Leyton Orient, Barnsley and Crewe are all after him. Also Dickson looks set to drop to league 1 and join newly promoted Swindon Town.

Puncheon is going knowhere thats why hes travelled to france. barnard, forte and dickson havnt travelled cuz they are going.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Really depends on who we bring in. If you start doing the maths, it could become an issue as to who can fit into a 25 man squad, and there could be some unexpected "outs". I would not read too much into who has travelled to France. The management will be working on the basis of the squad currently signed, and not on the squad as it might be in afew weeks time. Certainly, those who have not travelled (and are fit) then that is a different signal.

Saint Martin

Agree1 Disagree1

I agree Puncheon will be playing in a Saints shirt next season. He is one of the few in our squad and starting eleven come to think of it that has Priemership experience. Be it only briefly but I think he could be a key player for us this season all seems well now with him and I just hope we can see the talent he has would be foolish to let him go.
