David Marshall has told cardiff he wants to go to pl. this could mean we have got him?

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Hmm. It's tough because I'd rather have Forster who's younger and who I feel is better. Just my opinion of course

Agree7 Disagree6

No, we will have him once I've agreed terms

Agree5 Disagree4

When the season ended, GK was an obvious potential signing because we were unsure about shaw/lallana/lambert at that point, but GK has always been an improving point. I always wanted Kaspar Schmeichel but now that it won't happen, I really want Forster. He wants PL football and is young and English and fits our philosophy. Also, if he joins, the incentive of him and Wanyama, alongside the nationality link of Koeman may also entice or reaffirm the rumours of Virgil van Dijk possibly joining. Seems like a great prospect who should've made the Dutch wC squad.

Agree4 Disagree5

I like marshall better then forster hopefully this is true!

Agree8 Disagree5

If it's a choice between Forster and Marshall, I'd have Forster every time, as Ruffhead said he's younger and he's played at a higher level

Agree5 Disagree6

Let's have a vote:

agree for Forster
Disagree for Marshall

Agree8 Disagree9

Marshall Is 2x better the forster yes forster maybe younger but marshall plays better and trys harder.

Lifted from what might be a Stoke fan from football-rumours.com
Manchester City will listen to offers for defender Matija Nastasic as they pursue a £32million deal for Porto's Eliaquim Mangala.
Nastasic, signed from Fiorentina for £12m in 2012, had an injury-hit second season at City and the 21-year-old could find himself as the club's fourth-choice centre-back.
With Dedryck Boyata signing a new deal and teenager Karim Rekik returning after an impressive season on loan at PSV Eindhoven, City accept that Nastasic could be surplus to requirements.

Southampton are favourites to sign Nastasic. He will have first team opportunities alongside Dejan Lovren (If he stays) in the centre of defence and the recent signing of Serbian Dusan Tadic will be drawing points for Nastasic.

Believable7 Unbelievable7

Please be true. fantastic player.

Agree9 Disagree4

Read all the bits you've quoted but never saw the Saints mentioned as potential purchasers.

Agree5 Disagree3

Hope this is true, this would be a fantastic signing

Agree5 Disagree3

No chance. He's on a Man City mega-wage. £80k a week at least.

Agree2 Disagree8

Anyone know why Lovren hasn't featured in any of the friendlies yet? bit concerning?

Agree2 Disagree3

Mybe koeman dosent want him to get injured, just a thought

Agree1 Disagree5

Jst got back from holiday after the world cup I heard, think he will still go tho

Agree3 Disagree2

He's too busy watching the Open it's from Royal Liverpool.

Swansea, QPR, Crystal Palace, and West Brom have all shown interest in Jack Cork according to the Daily Fail.

dont think to much to worry about
all of them are smaller clubs than saints
qpr will only last one season in the prem and go back down
forestsaint

Agree13 Disagree3

Did anybody see the brief interview with cork after his fitness test? When asked about whether he wanted to join other freinds in the England squad, he said that his main aim was to play first team football, and came across frustrated at the lack of opportunity at the beginning of last season.

I don't feel jack cork will be 100% happy at saints unless he is playing week in week out. If an offer comes in I think he will want assurances from the club. I really hope we offer him a new contract to warn off other clubs. I think he has the mentality to want to play regularly, rather than just playing for a bigger club. Check it out in the saints YouTube channel and see what I mean

Agree7 Disagree1

I don't think he would want to leave us for one of the mentioned clubs, hope he gets a new deal soon!
COYS!

I personally think he's better than both Wanyama and schneiderlin after last season

Agree5 Disagree8

Under koeman I hope players are selected on merit. Wanyama when fit always seemed mopos preferred choice, even when cork played some superb games. Wanyama I hope will really need to impress to start ahead of cork or spider if he remains at the club

Clement grenier rumours are still going round, he wants to leave his current club and move to the premier league, we are one of 4 clubs interested. He would be an awesome signing.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Would be but we would not spend the reported 25 million needed to sign him!

I don't know why though, not as if we don't have the money.

Also would he want CL?

Agree4 Disagree2

I heard we could get him for 15 million. But as I say there is interest so who knows if he'll come to us.

Agree1 Disagree1

The figure being touted is 15m Euros. If that's true, I'm guessing the competition for his signature will be pretty fierce.

Agree1 Disagree1

Grenier wants Champions League, so as much as he'd be a great signing, I just can't see him joining Saints. It's not as though he needs to go in the shop window to get the chance to step up.

The Livorno president says Saints are one of three clubs in for Brazilian striker Paulinho along with Stoke & West Ham - be interesting to see where we stand.

Sounds very much like our interest in Andy Delort has been stepped up and according to the paper he spoke to he has almost made his mind up. It would seem that we have put in an offer and he is definitely leaving France. Only 22 and could be a bit special.

Agree3 Disagree4

Well they better get him here on a trial first, considering the french premier league is absolute toilet anyway I hope we don't buy a player outright who has only managed to produce for a mid table french championship team unless were talking peanuts for a gamble anyway

Agree3 Disagree3

17 Jul 2014 14:57:16
Don't forget we got JRod from a championship side. If RoKo has checked him out that will do for me.

Agree1 Disagree0

J-rod came to a just promoted team on the back of 2/3 decent seasons, and took a season to settle though ;)

Agree1 Disagree0

Ok agreed, so this guy is 22 if it takes him a season it may be worth it. Koeman is no fool he would know if he has got that special talent.

Agree0 Disagree0

The championship is much stronger than all 2nd div teams in europe by far, not just because they pay stupid wags in half the teams either, the french 2nd div is particularly rubbish as well, having said that i'm all for polishing a rough diamond but don't think france is a very good place to poach a striker, hopefully if we buy him i'm proved wrong tho

Ings in Southampton.
;-)

Believable1 Unbelievable10

He has family in Southampton.

Agree9 Disagree0

Sky Sports says Ings not looking to leave Burnley.

Agree5 Disagree1

He's from Netley

Agree2 Disagree1

Give him a season in the PL if burnley go down then bid.

Rumours coming up again saying were in for ever benega for 6 million

Believable4 Unbelievable4

17 Jul 2014 14:20:00
Newsnow said we are on alert with the toon as he wanted away but I don't know if that's because we were linked with him previously

Agree3 Disagree0

Rubbish that was a pottechino rumour at best

Agree4 Disagree0

He has played under Koeman before so that's the link.

Agree1 Disagree0

Ever benega has been linked to us for about 2 seasons, next up is the damio rumour and the scott sinclair one and we are back to two seasons ago

We have activated Caulker's release fee and he hasn't travelled with his team today. Palace reportedly had a deal for £8m with £42k wages (?) and QPR want to partner him with Ferdinand and have held talks.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Where did you hear that we'd activated his release clause?

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Jul 2014 13:36:03
Just seen that the swindling QPR manager is making an offer for one of my WC top 5 Ron Vlaar. This surely can not be true can it. The paper says 4 million which I don't believe, come on RK we could really do with him and anyway just buy him so that the international crook can't have him. Just off to Staples for some brown paper envelopes I expect.

Agree5 Disagree2

Sky Sports - although a journo has now said that he doesn't think we have (or Palace for that matter) have actually activated his release clause. Sounds like we and Palace have offered less - Caulker hasn't gone on the tour of Austria with the rest of his team. Pictures of him training back in Cardiff.

i have just seen on a website redknapp looking at ron vlaar for 4 million
surely saints could get him in at that price he had a great world cup
go get him saints

We have reportedly activated Steven caulker's release clause. If he signs for us, I would be very happy with this. What do you guys think about this?

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Just don't think he is top quality and think we could spend more and get much better. De Vrij would do for me.

Where has this been reported? I heard SSN but cannot find anything about it on the internet. Would be a good signing with high potential, but maybe not the commanding centre back we will need should Lovren end up leaving. Would like him though!

Agree3 Disagree0

He's only 22 would be a great signing, sell lovren and get de virj aswel.

Agree5 Disagree2

De vrij ha sbeen offered champions league fotball by about 7 teams come on boys get a grip

Agree4 Disagree2

Very over rated player is Caulker

Not massive news but I have heard that Blackpool have made an enquiry about the availability of gazza due to their goal keeping crisis. Although saints are yet to respond it could be a decent level to assess him further.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Needs to be loaned out. would rather see cropper in goal than gazza again.

Agree7 Disagree3

Take him, he's awful.

Agree4 Disagree1

Gazzinga not up to job as was seen last season, I personally panicked when the other team got the ball within 30 yards of him! Not his fault is still young but not premier class. Look at other teams in prem who have experience keepers as their cover in the likes of Chelsea and spuds I would like us to add more depth to squad in the way of experianced pros

Agree7 Disagree0

Agree with all - not good enough but by going on loan he will gain exp and with a run in the team we can assess if he will be good enough for the future. heard today that saints rejected this but can't understand why.

Agree6 Disagree0

I agree he needs more time but please bear in mind, last season he was in goal when most of our back 5 was also injured so a lot of goals were not his fault entirely.

Agree5 Disagree5

I used to panic too but I recon if he was loaned out he would come good as bialkski has now we should have just kept loaning him too
