Falco - Spurs
clyne - palace
coutious - chelsea (keeper)

Believable1 Unbelievable13

Wrong place. and spelling on Courtois.

Agree2 Disagree7

To comment above: Courtois is from chelsea. He's on loan at Atletico.
And this isn't a foreign name spelling group, so pipe down grammar police.

To the original post:
Can see Clyne happening, but it will be a hard signature to get - very sought after.

Falcao is decent prospect but not proven. We need something more substantial for the prem for now. We will be getting most of our young talent from our academy so won't be branching out for young players now who won't cut it.

Courtois is decent but can't see Chelsea selling him yet, he is a hot prospect still for them.

Agree4 Disagree1

I assume you mean Falco back to spurs

Agree5 Disagree0

Falque wont join. Only just joined spurs and would only do a job similar to Guly. If Nigel really rated him, he would have had more then the 1 appearance last season.

Agree5 Disagree0

Oh and clyne? the young rightback at palace that Nigel identified as the chink in their armour? he wont sign. Expect a foreign rightback to sign.

Agree2 Disagree0

Falque back to spurs?

Agree2 Disagree1

Do you perhaps mean Iago Falque??

All the talk I am hearing is that we are chasing Liam Trotter. Not really worth chasing, I think. He is a fine player to sign if you could pick him up on the cheap.

Believable6 Unbelievable6

I dont Rate Trotter and really dont think that is the sort of player we need coming into the Prem.
Im wondering if theres any truth in the M Owen and Adam Johnson rumors myself. Thats the sort of player we should be looking at, a player thats less likly to come and harder to get. Thats a sign of players we need.

Now that micheal owen has been released by man utd, southampton should make there move now.
owen is still one of the best finishers in the leauge. yes he has injury problems, but a free transfer , surely its a good thing

Believable16 Unbelievable13

Get over it he's passed his best a big gamble with his fitness not worth the risk with the wages he would want. Pass

Agree8 Disagree4

His wages are stupidly high though.

Agree8 Disagree1

^^ lol he wont go to southampton

Agree3 Disagree8

Hasn't played in I do not know how long, much like the Bridge rumours, this would be a player on high wages who has no match sharpness anymore, 2 or more years out of a team does not make for good footballers

Agree5 Disagree2

Someone will have to take a gamble, and no big club would, owen will have to get over it and realise hes past his best, i can see him coming southampton if no one else offers him anything. or will he end up in MLS ? {Ed001's Note - would he leave his horses behind?}

Agree1 Disagree1

Neither will he move south away from his horses nor do we want him at Saints!

Agree4 Disagree3

Horses won't be a problem. He can deal with those from wherever he is in the UK, it's not a big country. He will go wherever offers him Prem football.

From a Saints point of view I wouldn't put down what he has achieved and his talent. 32 isn't THAT young for a player now a days, especially on a free. Provided we could cut his wages down significantly (doubt it) then I would love to have his experience here, for the other players if nothing else. And as previously mentioned he is one of the best finishers in the prem on his day - can't turn down that for free, provided the wage is reasonable.

Agree3 Disagree0

If he came to saints he might even get some advice on the GeeGees from Mick Channon!

Seriously though Owen doesnt fit the saints purchase policy. High wages and no sell on value = dead money.

Agree4 Disagree0

Thanks to above comment, im glad someone has finally agreed with me that owen is worth a shot, how many one on ones has owen ever put wide ? not many, natural finisher, and if he stays fit, then he will cause so many problems in the prem

Agree1 Disagree2

The wages wont be an issue. End of the day he would need to a vast cut where ever he goes, he needs to understand its a pay cut or no club, therefore no pay at all.
I think he must be in it for the football now anyway and not the money, otherwise he would quit all together and just work with the horses.

Agree0 Disagree1

Don't want him, too injury prone, and Sharp is a goal poacher who is young, keen and ready to prove himself!
I'd rather go for someone younger than Owen, with more pace, to compliment Lambert ... Owen doesn't fit the bill for me!

There was rumours going around St Mary's today saying that Lallana was going to join Manchester City for a fee of around 20 Million pounds. I have been told that Lallana wants to stay loyal; but with a wage of £100,000...It's hard to decline. {Ed037's Note - I wouldn't say he's worth 20 million mate, maybe 5}

Believable2 Unbelievable18

£5M ed? You clearly havn't watched him ply very often.
If Ox-Chamberlain was worth £12M and in the same team at the same time Lallana was the better player... {Ed001's Note - you are deluded if you think Ox is not a better player than Lallana. Even your own coaches all said Ox was better. Lallana is excellent too, but not quite in that class. I do think he is worth more than 5m though.}

Agree9 Disagree3

No chance

Agree5 Disagree0

Ed your wrong. he is worth more than 5 million. he is still young and good luck to anyone trying to buy him for 5 million. i agree, 20 is a lot, and city wouldnt be interested. but 5 is way way too low. {Ed001's Note - I would say anything over 10m, if it was me.}

Agree5 Disagree2

I don't believe that post either Ed037. But I think your comment is way off the mark too you cheeky git.

Agree6 Disagree0

100,000 to sit on the reserves nicely done

Agree7 Disagree1

Where do you people get this bollox from

Agree4 Disagree0

They can have him... £10 million + richards, and adebayor on loan for the season with city paying his wages like they did when he was at spurs last season.. theres the offer man city , take it or leave it . lol

Agree3 Disagree3

No way is chamberlain better than lallana

Agree7 Disagree3

I'm a saints fan and he's right lallana isn't worth more then 10million he's good but he's not the value or the potential of chamberlain lallana is key to are team and I would put it about 7-8 million but we won't sell him unless he asks to leave and like chamberlain we wouldn't let him go cheaply I think 8million is a fair estimate

Agree5 Disagree3

Saints fan here,

We over value Lallana unfortunately. He is quality and a loyal local lad. But lacks pace, and is yet to be proven in the premiership.
Realistically I'd value him at around the £5-7million mark. But I know Southampton wouldn't sell him for less than £10million because we don't need to sell and he is special to the club in it's future ambitions to keep its academy talent.

Therefore everyone above is technically right...

External value around £5million
Actual value due to southampton's opinion is probably around the £10million mark.

Agree8 Disagree0

Lallana , will in time be a fantastic player, not just killsfull but has a great football brain.

The Value thing is irrelevant. Its the same with Lambert. Any club would have to pay ridiculously over the odds for him because of Saints reluctance to sell.

Has anyone heard of Andy Carol?

Agree1 Disagree1

Chamberlain has the raw attributes to be great with pace, strength and 2 feet but the brain of a typical greedy winger. He will be great under Wenger if his ego doesn't inflate. But I seriously doubt Southampton would have been promoted this season had he remained. Yes he's exciting and gets goals, but he's not a team player yet and has a lot to learn. Lallana was streets ahead when they were in the same team. No point arguing who is better now or will be better, they are different kinds of players. It's like arguing over John Barnes or Le Tissier.

The sad thing is that Joe Public doesn't recognize a good player unless he's in a top team. I'm sure if Chamberlain was in a saints shirt Ed037 would be saying he's not worth more than £5m.

You lot are forgetting that Lallana has been widely regarded as the best player in league 1 and only behind Lambert this season in the Championship. He also won players player ahead of Lambert so they obviously realize his quality. He is still very young, will undoubtedly improve still and I'm confident he will prove this coming season that he is one of the hottest prospects in England. I can't think of another England midfielder his age that has his quality. He will be in the England squad for 2014. Lambert and Lallana are priceless for us right now and with a strong spine in the team I'm confident we will be mid-table. COYR!

Agree2 Disagree1

Lallana is better then Oxlade-Chamberlain. No doubt.

Agree2 Disagree3

I agree that lallana is a great player for Saints. He has one important floor which is the reason why no Prem club has come in for him.....Pace,he just has'nt got it.

Agree0 Disagree1

A player's value is determined by what other clubs are willing to pay, not what the selling club want for him.
I'm a Saints fan through and through, but I think Lallana would interest clubs at a fee of around £7 mill at the moment.
Once he's proven in the Prem, which he will, just watch his valuation rocket!

Agree1 Disagree0

Not suggesting there's a likeness between the two but Van Der Vaart has no pace whatsoever and he has been pivotal in Spurs' team this season! Lallana's got the quality and skill to be great without pace! If I was given the choice between Lallana and Oxo last summer I'd have taken Lallana any day!

Agree1 Disagree0

Clever players dont need pace.like to see him more central.behind front two

Agree2 Disagree0

Prob behind front 1 cos no prem teams nowadays play 2 centre forwards

Agree0 Disagree2

Ask yourself, behind the scenes, how many bids has Corteze knocked back? We've probably already knocked back £10m+.
