According to the DAILY MIRROR Southampton want Spurs to include Harry Kane and Andros Townsend in any deal for Jay Rodriguez. I personally would take this plus £5 million, two great Young players plus their wages for the next couple of years.

Now I might be wrong, but I thought that you can't have 2 loaned players from the same club. If we were to get Salah on loan, then wouldn't we have to cancel the bertrand loan. This clearly doesn't make much sense.

Unless we buy Bertrand?. No, idea of the validity. But a whole bunch of people from Egypt think he is on his way to us.

Saintsfan25 we have loaned Swindon Jack Stephens and Jordan Turnbull. As far as I am aware there is a limit of 4 players from any one club (but I could be wrong).

Thought Nat Clyne played really well last night and a bit worried that somebody is going to go after him soon. Rickie had the last 10 minutes last night and he still has a lot to offer football, his reading of the game and his touches are still some of the best around. It must be so frustrating for him being in the England set up but not even playing any real football, he should have stayed at Saints. However if he did and JRod gets fit and we still bought Pelle he might not have got a game here either, just seems a shame. Surely he would be better off going to a top Championship club and play his career out at a level that can still use his great talents.

Just for people's awareness a team can only sign one player on loan from a club in the same league. Teams can have a max of two players on loan from two different clubs in the same league.
In terms of loans from other leagues I'm not sure (but I remember Watford having loads a couple of years back)

We would have to sign Bertrand permanently for this to happen

Well maybe we will sign RB permanently in jan. I don't think we would want salah though, unless we do lose spiderman

Bruno Martins Indi, Dyabla, Redmond, Kavlac all linked already with a January move! As well as permanant moves being rumoured for Alderwerield and Bertrand! Wouldn't mind a return for Sam Byram either, could mean we'll push on again in January even though it's against our usual transfer policy and really go for top 4 finish :O COYR!!!!

Not bad for a club that DOESN'T sign players in January is it!

I was wondering whether this season might be different, since were in the chase of a top four spot, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

If as we now believe that football is predominantly about money I was just wondering something. It just may be that it could be worth spending loads of money on top quality players in January to force our way in to a Champions League place. The financial benefits of qualifying are immense but I am unsure whether we could handle it at the moment, stadium size and local infrastructure would be a downside. I suppose it depends where we are on January 1st position wise so who knows. All I will say is if this happened be prepared people and get yourself a season ticket now because if you don't you may very well not be able to visit St. Marys again due to demand. I know this is all a little far fetched but so was being 2nd in Premier League at the beginning of December just four months ago.

I think there are teams smaller than ours in the champions league

Not for long though and only because of the leagues they play in. We are in the best league in the world so our participation would be expected to produce results that at least give us a chance of progressing. I thought most of you would have understood what I meant.
