What is your thoughts people on this latest gossip?

KL to sell the saints this summer with cortese said to be involved on behalf of an as yet unnamed buyer.
I have heard this 3rd hand but this rumour has been verified by an unknown who has a relative within the club.
I know most of you out there will say " load of crud " but watch this space.

Cortese has definitely been 'spreading rumours' the club is for sale since his departure, they could be true or could be a just disgruntled ex employee? Speculation re Poch could well be true or more rubbish, but who knows?
We are certainly in for aj interesting few months.

Wait, this again? This'll get very tedious if it keeps coming up.

If KL is planning to sell in the summer, why would the new appointments to the team even take the roles knowing it is only for a few months? Money?

Can pretty much rule out Southampton moving for Lukaku or Hernandez. Both earn way too much money and Lukaku is thought to have an attitude problem.

Top of the real wanted list is Michy Batshuayi. don't know much about him but Saints have scouted him several times this season. Other clubs want him as well but Saints are well placed.

Shaw has indicated that he wants to leave this summer. Well known interest from Utd and Chelsea. About 20 million over 2 years is the figure being bandied about.

There is going to be a step change with the owners very very keen to reclaw some money from the club, so expect to see a couple of other players leaving but that won't stop Saints investing but will continue to be further reliance on the youth team

Ed both of us know what this guy is chatting is a bunch of rubbish. Shaw won't leave as said by club yesterday, neither will MoPo and neither will anyone else. Lukaku isn't out the question but he most defiantly isn't out of our reach. and if shaw did leave it would be for the £30 miolion everyone has mentioned. we willnvest in the summer and continue forward in club progress! nbo idea why some saints fans are so depressing

{Ed002's Note - He is in respect of Lukaku having an attitude problem. There is a lot of interest in Lukaku, but none from SFC.}

I have no idea where you got this from as pochettino has stated that all the players want to stay at southampton and have no intention in leaving.

Agree5 Disagree1

Shaw has not indicated he wants to go. There is no evidence to suggest that he has at any point. All anyone has heard is saints are not selling (which may or may not prove the case come summer we will wait and see) and players are willing to stay.

Therefore I have struggle believing this post, not convinced how much is based on knowledge and how much is based on the kind of media speculation we've come to expect from lazy journalists in tabloid newpapers.

Agree2 Disagree0

Ok. Shaw HAS indicated that he wants to leave. That is pretty much well known to everyone. But he won't ask for a transfer. And NO, it won't be for £30 million. Hernandez and Lukaku are well out of out Saints wages budget but do we really care?

This is going to be an interesting summer. Southampton will be selling players to get money in for the owners but the club is determined to reinvest.

Forget what the manager says: it's all media spin, just like every club. No way would a manager say Shaw is for sale, even though he is.

A lot of faith in young players like young Sammy G. A lot to be optimistic about

^^ unnamed poster:

You are completely wrong.

Shaw doesn't want to leave and so is not for sale, but if he was to leave in the future it would likely be for a huge sum, probably above 20 million.

Pochettino, Krueger and Katherina are in control of the club and have no other ambition that to take the club forward - meaning that they will stick to their word and no player will leave unless Pochettino says so.

Agree5 Disagree1

He hasn't! Shaw has said nothing to indicate he wants to leave. In fact, Shaw has barely said anything on the topic probably because he's tired of speculation ignoring anything he says anyway.

Newspapers have lazily claimed his unwillingness to squash rumours is a sign he wants to go, but he has said "I want to say" before and it increased their speculation of his departure rather than reducing it! He is not an person and he is just keeping his head down on the matter from now on.

No such indication exists, whether or not he wants to go is unknown in reality. But I believe no rumours which start with anything about him indicating his opinion because he is not willing to.

Agree4 Disagree1

Not being funny if spurs and Manchester United and pretty much every one wants shaw, he had made no indication we should value him like 75million and if they don't wanna buy that them leave it. We can afford to allow players to leave cheaply or even at all we don't have a large squad and not good depth

hearing that juventus want osvaldo for 7mil, well it could be bumped up to 10m juve! at least! come on!

Believable7 Unbelievable1

There's a French press interview with Spiderman who says that the transfer fee played on Osvaldo's mind, he never settled in Southampton or the Premiership, his training was far less intensive than the rest of his teammates (suggests that maybe Roma's / Serie A training wasn't as hi-intensity as Saints / Premiership) but that he was a good finisher. Problems in his head the more he didn't settle due to above listed 'problems' and therefore tried too hard to do 'clever' things rather than the simple ball each time.

Agree8 Disagree1

Excuses, he's not worth what we paid or even half of it. Bad buy especially when the manager had history with him. Should have known better. Our recent "big buys" simply haven't been good value while the academy players and less money purchases have all done brilliantly.
Fact not fiction.
