Heard from a friend who's works as a steward at st marys that he's heard murmurings that there may be some truth in the Adam Johnson rumour. We've certainly had bids in that amount, 6.5-8m being banded about, for other players knocked back in the last 12 months. Man city reportedly pay him 50k so he'd only take a small pay cut to come under the revised premier league pay cap (45k?). Great signing if he'll come.

We have a wage block of £20k per week. so couldnt afford to pay him £45k. and i only know this becuase im friends with a 1st team player

Just saying that as everyone seems to say they know stewards ..i cant see it happening . theres rumors still going around about lallana to man city , so we'll see in july

Think that wage-cap will not exist now were in the Prem, were guaranteed at least 40m this saeason. 45 k a week equals 2.3 mill per year, so well within our means !

Wage cap will rise with prem status, truth is no one will know what it is outside the club.

Not the same as question above but I know for a fact that Dean Hammond went up to 20-22k a week and that was after promotion and I doubt he is on of the highest earners at the club so I reckon that our wage cap would be nearer the 35k mark but who knows?

Yep wage cap was around £25k per week in the championship - thinking back to NC's interview he said that he would pay Prem wages £35k - £50k depending on who and the deal

Some are speaking about the possibility of a season long loan deal-could make some sense for both parties.

I know a steward but he never has any inside information they never bloody do so how can people be stupid enough to use that as an inside source

Adam Johnson is on 70k a week and that's a fact, and even 50k a week only gets you an average prem player these days.

Yeah, lets all listen to STEWARD (not connect to club exept for sitting on there back sides on a match day) who may or may of heard from someone on the touch line (WHO DISCUSSES TRANSFERS ON THE TOUCH LINE) utters BS tbh!!

Im a security steward at the club, a high up one, with special access due to my SIA level. Im not a match day event steward, I am at the stadium 4 days a week and every match day. I even sometimes stand the gate at Staplewood. I have meetings with the police and stadium security on match days, most of these meetings are with Adkins popping in and out the room.
Im on first name terms with Nigel Adkins and nodding terms with everyone else from Matt le God to NC.
I can tell you now that I know nothing about transfers, management, tactics or the inner workings of the club and neither does any steward or part time match day staff.
Also everyone in the world is a name dropper, so no one will start a conversation talking about a friend that is a 'first team player'. Anyone in that situation would give names, as i have done,lol, its just human nature.
Some things on this site hold a degree of truth, but stewards and friends of players are not worth listening to.

Ha. How can the above statement be disagreed with.So the person that disagreed thinks that knowing a steward or a player is the best way to know how a club is run and the people that are coming and going..
Even if you do know someone, that doesnt mean they know anything..lol..

And Drenthe was only on loan at Everton, Real Madrid is his parent club. But Everton didn't play him often because he has a crxp attitude, so don't think Adkins would want him

I heard Joe Hart fancied being near the sout coast, Casillas wants to play in the premiership but only for a team ending OUTHAMPTON, and with saints the only team ending in that it looks like a likely deal. Lloris and Mandanda also looking to move for the weather. All of these are plausible

Lewis Holtby will not be going to Southampton a ridiculous rumour that is, he's valued at 15million at least so he is simply out of Southampton's league.
