Southampton are apparently ready and prepared to sell Mayuka. According to a source: "He's not ready for the EPL physically & mentally. " Mayuka's agent had spoken out that he is happy enough at the football club, and want to probe quality but internal staff within the club do not believe he has the potential to make it in the Premier League.

I think he's been quite good for us, just hadn't had enough of an opportunity.

Agree19 Disagree14

Good in what way? He hasn't done anything!

Agree15 Disagree16

I'd can't judge as I don't see him in training day in day out but he hasn't even had any starts has he? remember Jay Rod the half of the season? Only came good after playing a dozen or so games

Agree14 Disagree5

Well in his first opportunity he won us a penalty against Aston Villa, his second chance came several games later against Spurs where even they were stunned a bit by his pace and he was almost enough to level us to 2-2. Then against Swansea he almost scored again. His runs are very good and he has had some good efforts on goal I'm sure once he got one in he'd be a serious threat to any defence. Just a shame he's barely seen action but when he has, he's been damaging.

To be honest I think we're in a win-win situation. If we keep him, he could come good if we give him a chance, if we sell him then we have extra funds available. Worst case scenario is he stays and does nothing.

Personally though I'd like to see him given more of a chance as, like Rodriguez, maybe he just needs some match experience.

So its not win win at all, because he could stay and do nothing. haha

Agree10 Disagree13

A big thing were missing at Southampton is some real pace and he gives us another dimension to play

Agree11 Disagree5

Jay-Rod is full of pace.

Agree10 Disagree6

Hes still very young and has plenty of time to improve by playing more. Saying that, he has looked full of purpose when he has played

Agree6 Disagree2

Mayuka is young and might come good, he needs a chance first. I'm not going to judge a player that I've hardly seen play.

Sir Rickie isn't going to last for ever, so I hope Mayuka and J-Rod do come good.

I still think we need a goal poacher like Hernandez to seal games we should have won but didn't!

Billy Sharp?

Billy sharp is not premiership quality do not know why every one keeps bringing him up he's got excellent ball control but other than that nothing I think he would be good in the championship maybe

I think mayuka should be given a chance, but his official age is unknown and rumoured to be about 24. not that young really - I wouldn't use it as an argument in his favour.

What he has looked like is a player who runs at the opposition with purpose, isn't afraid to have a go, has decent ball control and pace. Plus he does actually look up for a cross. Given time I think he could be good.

Agree1 Disagree1

Believe he is 22. the Saints site had it up couple of months ago

Agree0 Disagree0

This premiership quality tag really makes me laugh, goal poachers do exactly that, poach, sharp will score goals in any league
