inside source tells me that scott sinclair has signed for southampton fc for around 9 million

Believable8 Unbelievable28

What a player can only hope this is true!

Agree4 Disagree17

9 million? Behave. He went to City for around that, will be taking him cut price not at the same price the muppets at City paid! £6mil max or jog on sunshine.

Agree13 Disagree3

£9million sounds a bit much though. Hope if we signed him it's be for a lot less given his apparent health risks at the moment.

Agree8 Disagree2

Who's told you this? I doubt this has happened already, we may have made a bid.

Agree7 Disagree0

He's still recovering from injury! He'll be out of action for another 2 months at least. He has a blood clot in his shoulder and had to have a rib removed, so I highly doubt this is true, and the fee would be no where near £9m for a player who signed a year ago and has only played a handful of games

Mini-Saint

Agree7 Disagree1

With a new boss coming in I think he'll stay at Man City at least for this season.

Agree5 Disagree1

Would be a decent signing but 9 mill is too steep, he's not worth that.

Agree5 Disagree0

9 mill for a player who struggle to make first 11 for man c
shame he jumped ship from Swansea
was doing so good
money aye

Agree4 Disagree1

He cost City about £6-7m didn't he? £9m for a player who hasn't played regularly and is injured?! No thank you.

Agree7 Disagree0

As it currently stands he wouldn't pass a medical so I don't think this rumour is going anywhere

Agree11 Disagree0

I don't know how reliable your inside source is, but all the tabloids have been saying we will be given a chance by Pelligrini.

Lenny

Agree4 Disagree0

How does Sinclair pass a medical at the moment?

Agree3 Disagree0

He cost City £6 mill, and has NOT improved as a player there due to lack of games. He seems like a primadonna, moving to Manchester because his glamour girl thought Swansea was too small for her (and him). I don't rate him. I think the new faces will come from Spain or Italy. I'm not a fan of the SPL either as there is only one decent team there and the players can only really compete in Europe. MP/NC will not sign mediocre players, they wanna bring in class!

james Ward Prowse is off to Bournemouth on a season long loan

Believable13 Unbelievable22

That wouldn't benefit his career or style of play

Agree14 Disagree7

Why wouldn't it?

Agree2 Disagree11

Sounds like a sound idea. Would only warm the bench at Saints 95% of the time. He's after Davis in the pecking order, plus whoever else is brought in by NC/MP

At his age he needs to be playing. He will get plenty of action at Bournemouth, bound to be defending most of the time.

Hope he can help keep them up, and cement their position as the 3rd best team on the South Coast.

Mumbler

Agree11 Disagree2

Playing in a division like that can only make a better more rounded player. As long as we keep a close eye and make sure he stays with us

Agree4 Disagree1

No disrespect to Bournemouth but JWP looked very comfortable when playing in the premier league last season despite being a teenager and will get more chances this time round. He is above that level.

Agree7 Disagree0

He played in what 20 odd games for us this season. play good premier league football, dropping down a league to a lower standard where he will play maybe only another 10 games more. is it really worth it? I don't think so for his development he is better staying at home

Agree7 Disagree4

He played 15 games with 4 starts. He will get less this season if we sign one or two of the names mentioned. He is a year or two from first team and any team in the league down to league 2 is better than under 21s.

Jannersaint

Agree1 Disagree3

He might have 20 appearances, but how much game time did he actually get? Wouldn't be surprised to see this happen.

Agree1 Disagree2

Your saying an extra 10 games? it would end up more, as he was mainly used as a sub last season, but at bournmouth he can get into starting 11

I know it's only the newspaper but they have reported we are losing the battle to sign verdu. Anyone any updates?

Believable7 Unbelievable4

He passed a medical at Olympiakos so I think it's safe to say that ship has sailed.

Agree10 Disagree1

Doubt he'll sign, never fitted in to the type of player saints sign. Young and all that.

Agree11 Disagree1

I don't think there was ever any serious interest. Just linked to us due to Pochettino connection.

Scottish sun reporting that SOUTHAMPTON have kicked off talks with Celtic for a potential record £10million-plus deal for Victor Wanyama. Obviously we face a lot of competition and talks are in early stages ATM, but Wanyama would be an incredible signi IMO

Mini-saint

Believable13 Unbelievable8

Where are you reading this?

Agree6 Disagree2

Bit of a waste in my opinion. Got strong CDMs as it is so spending near-record amounts on another doesn't seem sensible.

Would much rather splash out on a clinical young striker or a creative winger.

Agree10 Disagree6

Search the Scottish Sun Sport and you'll see the article.

Agree9 Disagree2

Be a good signing tbh

Agree6 Disagree1

Schnilderlin and Cork were 2 of the best midfielders last season not to blow our own trumpet or anything. Rather spend 10 million on another area.

Agree10 Disagree3

Just searched it is on there what a signing thatvwould be

Agree7 Disagree1

Would be a great signing! He's had the likes of arsenal Man U and citeh all look at him. He's only 21 too. Bags of potential and will show massive intent on our part if be signs

Agree6 Disagree2

Just imagine a midfield with Cork, Wanyama and schneiderlin! If we get Wanyama, it would allow Morgan to go forward more, and we'll still have that solid midfield pairing! I think it would be an excellent signing personally. He's only going to get better and his strength and size means he's already suited for the physical premier league.

Mini-saint

Agree7 Disagree3

Celtic + Agents have made this public to try to inflate the price. if there is any interest from MauU Arsenal etc then it will now be difficult for Saints as I can't see us forking out over 10m for a position that is not "top priority". Its not that we can't compete on price. just that we won't be held to ransom.

Agree6 Disagree5

Totally agree with "Celtic+Agents"

If we ever had any genuine interest, Cortese would have walked away the moment it became clear everything would go public and reach the ears of the Sun

Agree3 Disagree3

Whos would be the best and the worst for Saints out of these 3:

Banega
Wanyama
Nainngolan

Agree2 Disagree1

Original post by mini saint says its in the Scottish sun and the next posted says where are you reading this. LOL.

I think this lad will be one the the rope box to box midfielders in Europe. Such amazing physical development at 21. I know cork and Spider-Man were good but we don't have enough cover in that area or a high finish. JWP isn't ready and Davies isn't good enough for our aims.

I take st rippers point about secrecy but we are at too high a level to keep secrets now. Easy in league 1 but top players, clubs an agents go public to push a high price even higher.

Jannersaint

Agree5 Disagree1

Disagree with comment about cortese St Ripper. We signed Ramirez and that was all over the news for ages.

Agree2 Disagree0

We all know the sun make up 99% bs.

Agree6 Disagree0

Like we walked away from Ramirez deal is it St Ripper? I do not think it is that clear cut at all. I think if NC really wants a player he will get him. There is strong interest in us for this kenyan lad at the moment, and we have been linked to hooper for the past 3 seasons now. Now smoke without fire.

Agree1 Disagree1

Wanyama would be an excellent signing for us. Cork is a good player and was important for us last season don't get me wrong but I feel like Wanyama will end up being a far superior player.

Agree4 Disagree1

Theirs plenty of smoke without fire when it comes to the press linking us with players. For 3 seasons they have claimed we're going to take Hooper and so far nothing has happened on that front. We have also been linked with with Jesus Gamez and Verdu by the press but so far no sign of them signing either.

Agree3 Disagree0

If we get him in I can see him competing with Cork for the MF role and then if injury or suspension to Clyne happens Cork being used also as cover for the right back slot which when he did last year (and he did it very well) When cork was at RB we were left short on quality in midfield (sorry, davis and JWP aren't good enough yet). Sensible bit of business form NC and MP in my view and means we should have a top CM partnership practically every game picking two out of the three.

Agree1 Disagree0

We have to realise that although we have GOOD midfield premiership players, we don't have TOP CLASS (morgan aside) midfielders. Apart from Morgan, none of our other midfielders are top 5 team players so in order for us to compete for Europe, we need to make these harsh decisions.

If Wanyama would help us get into the top 5 then we need him over cork and davies. End of.
