Just putting it out there, Ben Foster could be seen as a possible signing. A couple of reasons why. 1) West Brom are unlikely to sign him after Roy is with England.
2) Birmingham are still in the championship
3) From hearing what there manager and chairman are saying they are going places.
Before the anti Southampton crowd start moaning as they are jealous i believe some big signings could be made
A West Brom fan

Don't know about this one. Ben foster is quality but we have a decent keeper already in Davis (been in team of the season last 3 seasons running).

Can see us going younger than Foster and developing them.

Davis deserves to be our number 1, so were get a young keeper as a under study, ben foster would want to be guaranteed 1st team football and rightly so, he's been brilliant all season

Agree3 Disagree0

Seriously people, you would want Davis over foster? Yes Davis has had a good season but foster has has been one of the best keepers in the prem for the last couple of season and I believe still quite young for a keeper, if he wanted to come to saints I would welcome him Davis number 2 with also coaching role in youth teams.

However 9 youth team players have been offer proffecional contracts, with 4 joining in with the first team:
James Ward-Prowse
Callum Chambers
Luke Shaw
Jack Stephens

Bevis Mugabi
Joe Curtis
Matt Young
Chris Johns
And U16's captain Jason McCarthy

Should have offered j.dovey a professional contract in my opinion. we should have 3 gk and then tried to have signed a 23-25 yo 3/4s experienced gk to replace bialkowski, but as NA says TAO so i respect his decision.

if there are any southampton fans writing ridiculous rumours and starting petty arguments with other established premiership clubs, stop! cos you'll give us bad rep before the season has even started, unless we make a few signings we will struggle next season, its not rocket science to figure that out, so respect the opposition. then we have nothing to worry about, if we go into this thinking we're the best team in the prem, we are going to be bitterly dissapointed if it doesn't turn out how we all want it, so dont expect a lot, then we wont be dissapointed.

Is it just me supprised by jack doveys exit? Not seen johns anyone seen him play? Hope we get rid of forecast

Agree8 Disagree0

I would have kept Dovey on. He's a Saints fan aswell :/

Tommy Forcast has 1 year left on his contract. So he'll be gone this time next year

Agree7 Disagree0

Id pay off forecasts contract myself he must only be on less or equal to £1000 a week and even thats too much, hes getting paid for sitting at home, its a joke, when all the backroom staff spoke highly of dovey. feel sorry for the lad we should start a trend on the social networks to bring him back, he deserves a chance.

Agree11 Disagree0

Actually Forcast has been payed to sit on the bench in the conference south :L

Not much difference then is there?

I have been hearing from a good source(although
still keeping his card to his chest), southampton have
been showing interest in bringing in Kasper
Schmeichel to feed into first team football with
Kelvin sharing the duties.

also spurs will be doing alot of business this year
so Harry looks to be making room, there is talk
of a possible (loan or perm) move for Defoe.

Believable20 Unbelievable9

I genuinely think this post is good, Kasper is linked with QPR but i his dad has advised Kasper that it would be a bad choice because how the club is run.

Defoe would be superb and i think if some big name transfers are completed soon to show ambition why wouldn't he fancy feeding off Lambert. match made in heaven i would say.... spurs fan btw

Agree18 Disagree5

Can't agree with either of those. Particularly Defoe, massive ego who isn't a team player. We already have an excellent finisher in Sharpe, so he wouldn't add anything. Except an inflated wage
Schmeichel is a good keeper, but again, more focussed on his own career path and would jostle for a move the moment a bigger club showed interest

"Southampton manager Nigel Adkins has made enquiries into the possibility of signing Bolton Wanderers winger Chung-Yong Lee. Adkins apparently sees Lee as the answer to his problem right midfield position, and the player could be available for around £2 million following Bolton's relegation."

Believable18 Unbelievable4

I'm a saints fan and would love for this to happen, brilliant player really underrated but could face competition from other prem clubs
