Southampton chairman Nicola Cortese is to be in Barcelona with the team for the next two days, potentially to oversee some new signing?

Believable9 Unbelievable3

That would be very nice, but because barcelona is such a big team it would be expensive to even pick up a youngster

Agree3 Disagree3

Who said it has to be Barcelona player? Espayol are based in Barcelona to you know !

Agree3 Disagree2

MP has already stated clearly that he will not be buying any Espanyol players as he has too much respect for his former club.

Agree2 Disagree2

I don't know how many times Pochettino has to come out and say he won't be signing Espanyol players before you people actually listen.

Agree4 Disagree1

Cortese being in Barca with the squad doesn't mean the signing will be from a Barca club, just means they'd meet up with the squad while they are off training in Barca.

Sly Italia reporting that an Inter representative is in Southampton to work out a deal for Coutinho after Moratti said he wanted 13m euros.

Believable7 Unbelievable5

I heard that the deal was in the wage negotiation stage as Southampton had met the asking price at 12 million Euros. 13 million Euros would be another step up and I think Cortese would say Inter are being ridiculous and pull out if they asked for another million having already gone up from 10 to 12.

Agree4 Disagree3

Coutinho is not worth 13 million. He's good, but he's still just a kid who hasn't really done much to prove himself. Reality is, Inter need the money in order to make other purchases.

Agree5 Disagree3

Why is an Inter rep in Southampton whilst the team and the Chairman are in Spain?

Agree3 Disagree4

The bloke sounds like a right pain in the back side. Which makes me think he's more suited to Liverpool. Let him go there and move on...

Agree8 Disagree1

I didn't realise that you could still be classed as a kid at the age of 26! Coutinho has said he wants to focus on helping keep Caligari in Serie A this season, and is ignoring any transfer talk.

Agree1 Disagree3

Er...i think you're referring to Astori

Agree2 Disagree2

Aaas astori. The deal that had been completed a thousand times. What DID happen to him?

Agree2 Disagree0

If your not refering to Astori then who the hell are you talking about because it defo ain't Coutinho

Southampton have offerd lee Barnard to bournemouth for free as the look to offload the striker

Believable8 Unbelievable11

Doubt NC would let his mother have free Saints tickets let alone "give" our baby brothers a free player.

Agree5 Disagree2

He could well be going to do this, although I think this is part of another deal to take a youth squad player. We are apparently not wanting to pay compensation so are offering Barnard (what I heard anyway).

Ed, some reports are sayi our bid for Coutinho has been accepted, whilst other are saying Liverpools representatives are flying over there to get the deal done?!?! What's happening? {Ed001's Note - both are correct. Southampton have had a bid accepted, Liverpool are trying to get a deal done too.}

Believable6 Unbelievable6

Ed, you guys seem to have a few more sources then the rest of us, who does it look more likely Coutinho will go to at present?

- TJ {Ed001's Note - unless something has changed in the last few hours (I was out for a meal with my daughter so not looked at anything), Southampton are in pole position as the only team to agree a fee with Inter.}

Agree1 Disagree4

Where are these stories coming from? {Ed001's Note - from Inter Milan.}

Agree1 Disagree1

Why is it always Southampton and Liverpool who want the same player? And to be honest this one is really close for both it seems. Got no idea where this kid will wind up on February 1st.

Agree3 Disagree1

Our bid of 10.2 million has been accepted by Inter so he will now discuss terms with us. However, according to italian sources he isn't keen on a move to St Marys so could refuse us. Liverpool are prepared to up their offer but not as high as 10 million. They still believe he will join them because Inter will accept their offer of around 8 million if he refuses to join Southampton. i'm hoping the fact Pocchettino has managed him before will convince him its the right move but i'm not too confident. However, if we fail to get him then a move for Biglia is likely and he is also a class act!

Agree6 Disagree2

Yeah, I'm worried about Liverpool! But reports claim that the saints offer has been accepted ;)

Agree1 Disagree4

Which is 'top-trumps' - Club accepts the deal but player doesn't or Player accepts the deal but Club doesn't?

So, if Liverpool have a lower bid, but Coutinho wants to go there rather than higher bidding Saints - who wins?

Block34

Agree1 Disagree1

Update: have stopped taking bets on coutinho to join saints.

Agree3 Disagree2

Who has stopped this and surely that would imply they don't think it's going to happen? If they thought it was a sure thing the odds would go to evens (1/1). {Ed001's Note - all it means is that a lot of money has been placed on one particular outcome.}

Agree1 Disagree2

There are that many people who gamble?? (Then again that just might be my moral compass speaking but hey).

I have been speaking with a friend here in Denmark who works as a scout here, and there could well be another Scabdy on his way to Southampton.

Danish international Jores Okore originally born in Ivory Coast he is 20 years old and plays for F.C. Nordsjælland in the Danish League.

He has 4 caps for Denmark to date and is an exceptional young talent and leader for his age

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Another Saint in Denmark? Not in Cph?

As for Okore, I think he'd actually be a good signing for us. He's been linked to massive teams over here, but can't imagine him getting playing time at the bigger clubs, so maybe we have a chance. Then Hooiveld must go...

Agree3 Disagree2

If that is true, then that would be great. I too live in DK and he is one od DK's brightest talents.

Agree1 Disagree2

Another link to a football manager gem.. will he be arriving along with Destro, Verratti, Dede and Fierro? Haha in all seriousness I've heard he's a great talent though.

Agree3 Disagree1

Im Australian but living in Denmark right now, been a saints fan since I was about 14 in 1997-98 season.
I just heard it off my friend who said that a few premier league clubs had asked about him, but its probably not going to happen though but I can't see why we are not looking at players like this as he will be an exceptional talent. Its the right time to buy this type of player though when they are not known that well as you can get them at a decent price

Agree2 Disagree1

4 caps for Norway at 21 years old. I'm sorry but he sounds league 1 standard tbh.

Agree1 Disagree7

Firstly, Denmark Norway. Secondly, he was recommended by Schmeichel to Man. Utd. He is a real talent.

Daily Mail rekons we've had a 10.2 mill bid accepted for Coutinho. Hope so but have my doubts.

Daves Boy

Believable13 Unbelievable2

Daves Boy, the offer of £10.2m is a substatiated reported bid.
Your subsequent negative comment has no foundation and and is totally unsubstantiated... so why bother us other fans with your baseless negativity??

St Ripper

Agree3 Disagree7

I think he's right. Have seen absolutely nothing to suggest there is anything substantial to the rumour.

Personal thought agent trying to get more money out of Liverpool.
Think there was interest in the summer mind. Just not now

Agree2 Disagree2

Hey St Ripper, Daves Boy was making a point. This isn't communist China so the guy has a right to express his own thoughts. Maybe you anger would be best used elsewhere

Agree6 Disagree0

St ripper. No negativity from my part. Just have my doubts if transfer will happen because the player has said he wants to fight for his place at Inter. Think you'll find this is considered substantiated! It's also an OPINION in which I hope I'm proved wrong.
Davey Boy.

Agree7 Disagree0

Reports on Twitter that Coutinho on the way to Liverpool for a medical.Done deal

Agree3 Disagree2

As if the Daily Mail would just tell lies... They never do that... Oh... Wait...

- TJ

Agree5 Disagree2

Davey Boy, the comment about wanting to fight for his place does indeed substantiate your view. I withdraw my assertion. Although after the numbner of times now that we have been surprised by our own success in the transfer market, I do wonder why so much credence is givingh to negative factors rather than positive ones?
Inter have accepted our offer, not Liverpool's so I would be very surprised if he is going to Liverpool without them matching our offer?!?

By the way, whoever never had the bravery to give their name in referring to communist china, it would appear that it is you that prefers the anonymous communist way and are full of contained anger
