"Southampton are close to sealing a deal for Derby County forward Steven Davies. The striker, who can also play on the left wing, has been told by County boss Nigel Clough that he's free to look for a new club, and Southampton are willing to take a punt on him for a fee believed to be in the region of £650,000 with add ons."

The signing is just as close as my nan is, signing for saints.. we dont need a player whos championship standard

Why would we want him if a poor championship club don't even want him anymore?

Derby did want to keep him he's leaving on personal reasons. would be a good squad player in my opinion

Other than kelvin, the only davis i think would be good for saints is rangers captain steven davis

Would rather have the snooker player

Gary Hooper has spoken himself regarding the speculation surrounding his future.

He has stated quite clearly he will see out the remaining 2 years of his contract at Celtic before moving to the English Premier League.

However as he is not one of the high earners at Celtic it is believed he will sign a new 4 year deal to bring himself into line with the other high earners at the club, the trade off being there will be a release clause after 2 years where he can leave for an agreed fee.

Hope this puts an end to the speculation once and for all, getting boring now!

That has resolved nothing of the matter he is contracted to the club so won't say he wants to leave hes saying he will see out his two years but that's all meaning he won't sign a contract. Meaning he will either move on for more money this window or carry on at Celtic. This IMO makes me think he is moving this widow? What does everyone else think on this?

He's on his way.
At his age, and a wish for international honours he is not going to progress into the England squad playing for Celtic.

Only hooper knows the truth.. just wait and see, only time will tell
