Heard Southampton are in for Holger Badstuber who want's to be first choice in the German national team for the World Cup NC want's to bring him in to partner Lovren would be a major signing and NC has pulled off deals like this before

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Alfredo Pedulla of Gazzetta della Sport has reported that Inter and Southampton have agreed a loan deal for Gaston Ramirez with it only being dependent on whether Inter can get Lavezzi.

If true, I wonder if this means that they want him to get experience or if they are preparing to get rid of him? We do need to remove people like Lee Barnard from the books really.

Will January be interesting or boring for Saints fans?

Agree4 Disagree3

Also heard Ben Foster could be on his way too

Agree4 Disagree8

Badstuber out with Cruciate Ligament injury since December 2012. An unlikely signing, assuming he ever recovers properly?

Ramirez not going anywhere.

Agree7 Disagree1

Agree with St Ripper ref Ramirez. He is very unlikely to be going anywhere this january. Just because he isn't a starter week in week out doesn't mean to suggest he is "out of favour". Due to our defensive injuries currently we have required more defensive minded midfielders to protect the fragile back line. GR is a creative midfielder & as such would be a weak link in a defensive option. Not his fault - just the current predicament the club is in. I would imagine he would be an automatic starter for the fa cup games coming up & once all are back from injuries then you will start to see more of him as a 2nd half sub possibly more. Please remember that if we are to progress as a club then we need to build strength in depth which will include benching international players. No disrespect to Swansea or Wigan but just look what playing in europe does to you with a thin squad. Throw in injuries & the whole thing gets embarrassing.

Agree6 Disagree2

Bastubber has ecoverd from his injury its just because bayern av dante boateng, van bueyton that he's struggling to get into the side so cosnidering he has ambition for the german 1st team why not get him as 24 class and experianced and suits are style of play bout time we bought some players from bundsliga and with badstubber would probably be about 12 million maybe, eds you heard anything bout this?

Agree3 Disagree2

Ramirez is not the player we all hoped he would be. he's too lazy for our system, he looks like his confidence is gone and looks like he wants to leave. I'd rather we sell him than lone him out.

Agree3 Disagree9

Reg ramires, I think it's taking him longer to adapt to the English game, and more so to pochs way.6monyhs ago I thought he was going, but a few promising sub appearances and determination to make the World Cup, may bring out the best in ramires.
I also agree with the above poster regarding our defensive injuries.
Saintsmiff

Agree7 Disagree1

Ramirez isn't lazy, he just lacks the confidence to go and win the ball back when he loses it, when he has the ball he looks good with it, it's the same as Lallana was last season, he just needs a few good games (like recently) to get his confidence and he'll gain that extra yard and work harder with the team. 'Fans' booing doesn't help either, if let's say for scaling sake 50? people booed you at work every time you effed up you wouldn't feel all that good about going would you?

Agree6 Disagree1

Personally I've seen a bit of improvement from Ramirez in the last couple of games. While he hasn't had too many minutes, he does seem to be playing a simpler game.

I always got the feeling he was trying to do too much, and getting caught out. For Uruguay he plays far simpler game, and works his way into games.

A huge problem with him is he is nowhere near match fitness - having barely played. I get the feeling that with Poch, if you aren't fit enough you don't play.

Sometimes we forget how young he is. He has had huge personal problems since coming to Saints.

Could it be that he will come good?

Agree8 Disagree0

Watching Ramirez warm up at the Tottingham game was laughable. Gallagher and Reed were bombing up and down the line quick step jogging. Fonte looked, understandably, frustrated, but warmed up in good fashion. Ramirez gently jogged up and down, sometimes walking. Gazing in to mid-distance throughout, didn't look at the game once. The best bit was when Fonte ran to the corner flag, where Ramirez was loitering, and told him he was going on. He pointed at himself in genuine surprise! Good on fifa, but if he doesn't want to be here, I don't want him taking a cut of the money I pay for my ticket.

Agree3 Disagree4

If we could get Badstuber our defence would be formidable. I would love that rumour to have substance to it.

Agree2 Disagree1

Ramirez is clearly going to leave. It's been obvious since the close season that he hasn't settled.

Agree0 Disagree7

Ramirez is going nowhere

Agree6 Disagree0

Pochettino has hinted that Gaston will stay at Saints. My belief is that he won't be leaving in January.

Gaston scored a screamer today, and generally looked like the quality player that we were hoping to get.

As I stated a couple of days ago, I'm seeing signs from Gaston that he is starting to come good. Surely if he remains at Saints this coming January, it's an indication that he is in Pochettino's plans for the future.

I'd certainly rather have an inform Gaston, than a new signing that will need time to settle.

Agree5 Disagree0

I have seen the Badstuber "rumour" posted by the same "person" on another clubs site. Bit sad really.

Saint Martin

Agree4 Disagree0

Just poster that on their Saint Martin because seen as united are in need for a centre back it might get their hopes up

i am hearing now thay Manchester United want adam llalana
whatever does moyes think that 15 000000 can get him on the cheap
hope mr cortese tells him where to get off to
and don't bother coming back
same applies to what other clubs come after any
other players
except fox hooifelt etc

Believable6 Unbelievable1

I noticed a lot lately all the Man United glory hunter supporters are suddenly wanting a player like Lallana.

Well, they can jog on!

I'd like to think Lallana would stay put, but wouldn't hold it against him if he did leave for Manchester United.

Having watched Hull City AFC destroy United today (on telly) I hope we could sign a player of Curtis Davies' ability, he is in ace form.

Great result for Saints, 3-0 away to Cardiff. Sadly it's the kinda mauling that could now cost Mackay his job. Which I won't be happy with, he deserves to stay in his job for as long as he wants.

Anyone see this ssn report this morning? Pochettino answered a question in English!

Saint Etienne.

Agree2 Disagree4

Great first half performance against Cardiff, and a CLEAN sheet - wow - no JOS - possibly a big indication why we were more solid at the back. Good to see Jay in amongst the goals again and super Rickie
WillsaSaint

Agree5 Disagree0

Totally agree with WillsaSaint's comment there. The back four on paper looked so much better, I had confidence with it, and the scoreline and match report suggests proper reason to be happy.

Great as well that our three goals all came from English, and internationals at that, players. While an array of foreign talent watch on from the sidelines/injury table.

Well done to the boys today. Disappointed to read some of our fans at the stadium were chanting "you're getting sacked in the morning" towards Mackay. Hopefully it was misinterpretated. Our fans are usuall, compared to most other clubs, a cut above that sort of thing.

Let's hope we can beat Everton in the next game. Having lost to Sunderland today, it is possible.

Saint Etienne.

Agree2 Disagree2

Like MoPo said in presser the other day, players will have to get used to attention from other clubs. Its only natural that our players will start to get linked with the "bigger" clubs. Surprised that the Scheinderlin to arsenal rumour hasn't resurfaced yet! So far, we have adam to Man u, osvaldo back to italy, gaston to inter, shaw to chelsea, rickie to west ham. Then in addition, we will be linked to just about every single player on planet earth! I will be surprised to see any of the first team players leave this january & will be a true test of which players truly believe in the "project".

Agree6 Disagree0

You only have to listen to Gary Neville in his role of Man U scout on Sky. He purrs about Adam "best player on the pitch". Hi brother now on coaching staff at old trafford no surprise to me that United will try and nick our players.
Big moments coming up if and when they do try, if saints can hang on to them it will show that we mean business with our plans.

I have a feeling now that with the extra money for the prem that moving to a bigger club for £ is not such a big issue anymore. Fingers crossed.

Agree3 Disagree0

I'm sure Man U would want Lallana for &15m. I'd like Messi for £30m.

He's worth much more. At 26 he is two years off his prime and look at his current form and class.

We must accept that every player has their price however.

Jannersaint

Agree3 Disagree2

He's 25. and coming into prime now I would say

Agree3 Disagree1

Lallanas boots cost more than 15 million

Agree2 Disagree0

I wouldn't pay that much for his boots! They'd never fit me

Agree3 Disagree0

He would never leve, saints fan and already going to World Cup end

Agree3 Disagree2

£15 million sounds about right. Paid over 3-5 years would be the norm for any transfer.
But I can't see him leaving now. One day he will move onto a bigger club but I doubt if Manchester United will bid now. It's too early for such a move.

Agree0 Disagree2

Right until last year. Arsenal paid over five years for Oxlade Chamberlain but new rules limit this to a max of 2 years

Ibrahim linked to join from Man City he's young and from Norway. Was said to be like a young Yaya Toure from Norway.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Toure from Norway. Really aha

Agree3 Disagree1

He was born in Somalia but has represented Norway at every level from age 15 to 21.
He is out on loan from Man City as they buy in ready made players.

His contract is up in the summer and he wants to stay in the BPL, so it could just be agent talk again.

Agree1 Disagree1

Speaking of Defensive Midfielders, I'd love to have Romeu from Chelsea in a Saints shirt. been sent to Valencia this season and it doesn't look like Jose want's him there, quality player he is

Agree2 Disagree2

Looked not that great when I saw him play for Chelsea last season. Not up to the English game I predict
