Heard saints want Caulker off of Tottenham. Sounds like they are willing to go to over £8 million to get him. Would be a brilliant signing for them. Can't imagine Tottenham would be happy to let him go but to me 8 million would sound more than reasonable.

I do believe the signing of Gaston showed there are some great players outside of the UK who are not only better "buys" than UK based players but also bring extra into a team. I suspect Saints January additions may follow this route.

Caulker will be a world class player in the future and if spurs sold him they would be stupid. As much as I'd love this to happen it won't.

Caulker has played alot for Tottenham this season and just made his England debut. They won't sell a young, solid English prospect, who has featured regularly. Also why would he come to us when he is playing in a team challenging for Europe!

To whoever posted about ramirez i think hes quality but i dont get how people can decide hes incredible when hes had one good performance for us against newcastle ?

The guy is still recovering from a serious injury, is still adapting to English football and still very young.
If he builds his fitness, and stays injury free I think you will see what I mean, post Christmas.

fantastic performance today completely dominated newcastle in all aspects. Alright qpr and newcastle were not at their best but thats the bit of luck that we missed out on at the start of the year, really proud of the boys though that was a silky display. Big thumbs up to Gazza, didn't have too much to do but made a couple of potential match changing saves (and i put a post up the other day for Kelv to be put back in goals woops) punch, gaston and lallana were brilliant as well and shneids and nath and ricky... If you cant tell im over the moon and cant wait for next week. GO THE SAINTS...

Yes, great performance and good signs there is a lot more to come from this team. I have been saying for a few weeks that the improvement coming after Cork returned has a lot to do with him and Morgan having played so long together that they know what each other is going to do.
I still think this is a big factor. In the Premier League the pace and speed of thought required are very important. We should not forget the number of changes to Saints 1st 11. eg.The GK+back 4 now contains 4 new faces compared to last season. The settling down of these changes takes a time and I think it may be into 2013 before we see the team reaching its full potential, but then we will be a match for anyone.

Next two matches are really important, providing two very different challenges. Let's hope we avoid disruption from injuries and can maintain the growing confidence.

2 lucky breaks, QPR, most teams come away with something and Newcastle are not exactly the team they were last season, they will do well to stay up themselvs this season, So don't start getting to excited, Norwich next, unbeaten in 7 and they don't stop till the final whistle ask Everton

Quite agree, two good testing games next, but if you are a Saints fan, try to be a little more glass half full. Saints not only beat Newcastle comprehensively but even the Newcastle fans were saying afterwards it could have easily been by 6 or 7.
There were passages of the game when Saints tore them to shreds and yet I believe there is a lot more to come from the squad. The next two games will be a real test, but then, the opening games of the season were pretty challenging in other ways This is a very young team which means they need to learn quickly, but equally, it means there is a heck of a lot more to come.

Saints we're unlucky not to win by 4 or 5, we deserved the win, bery much doubt Newcastle will be relegated due to the quality of player they have, but Norwich will be good game and one I think we can win.

The bitter skates keep popping...

Fact is, saints are really showing their class now. We should have had much more points in previous games, but the odd mistake has been harshly punished every time. Now we appear to have got that out of our system, just sit back, watch in awe and learn by the only team in Hampshire

Watch in awe ,lol , you're funny
