Following Nedum Onuoha's signing, QPR are looking to lighten theie defensive load by offloading Danny Shittu on loan to Southampton FC. Shittu will be joining Saints on Friday in time to be considered for their FA Cup game against Millwall.

Sounds very feasible, especially with Fonte, Jaidi, Seaborne and Hooiveld all injured.

That gets rid of one forward. Actually centre forwards now are Lee, Lambart, Barnard (injured) and Connolly (injury prone). Does this mean A.N.Other is coming in?

Basically he is an attacking midfielder who can play up front but is better in midfield. In the hole normally.

If southampton dont succeed in agreeing a deal with celtic over the signing of gary hooper in the next couple of days, nigel adkins will turn his attention to the loan market with possible intrest in bringing either arsenals Ryo Miyaichi (whos just finished a loan at feyenoord and is close friends to new signing lee) or manchester uniteds england under 21 international will keane

Seems the next few days will be very interesting for us - poss signing today watch out!
speaking to a few of my sources last night, my understanding is we have placed offers in many areas with many clubs to which SFC will be chasing some decisons from these within the next 48 hours
NC doesn't want to do business on Tuesday as this will only pump up prices, so will be looking by Monday latest for signings

Keith Andrews - strong rumours on this - Free (blackburn cancelled contract) - good addition got goals in him

Gary Hooper - understand that saints will chuck a last chance to celtic thought to be around 8m

i'm hearing a Dutch Centre back (trying to get name) but they are keeping this one very secret

Celtic have gone in for a bid for a striker in europe for �5mil, i know they arent poor, but seems alot for a team that can win the "treble with what they have" as some celtic fans say....so maybe Hooper is on the verge of leaving..not saying its to us though..

Charity dinner last night - Cortese himself said he is expecting a phone call about a transfer today and that many bids have been accepted in January but the player's wage demands have be too high and he won't break the club's current structure. I am paraphrasing from another forum and do not know this for 100% or have ever spoken to the man. It sounds right though. After all you can buy relative success and then end up like P**pey....

I do feel as though there is few more signings to come in before tuesday deadline,..the Leicester game may have been a blessing as it would have shown everyone including adkins and cortese that our squad is a long way off being good enough for promotion once we start to lose players due to suspension and injuries, maybe just maybe they are a little more interested in stretching the purse strings now ;) lets hope for an exciting end to the transfer window..COYR
