Osvaldo to be swapped on loan with inter midfielder Saphir Taider. With a view to perm deal.

Believable8 Unbelievable4

I saw this too, fairly good player and I'd like to see osy leave. I've also seen there is a CB in the deal too.

Plays for Valencia, stats don't look great is available for 3 million euros

Didnt play tonite against Pontypridd. It was all the youth team players. Valencian number 2 looked ok. Need to get a few more done ASAP but no need to panic just yet

Yeah, Les Reed spineless 'yes man' or the worst kind of fifth columnist? I always suspected it was the dark hand of LR and not NC that pushed NA just as he seemed to be turning things around.

a club source is stating that both spider and rodriguez are going nowhere despite the interest from spuds and liverhampton. we are also aiming for a GK a CB and an Attacker by the end of this week. ralph kreuger will be making a statement at 4. 00pm.

Believable10 Unbelievable6

29 Jul 2014 16:13:01
Yep. Confirmed on sky sports. Jay and morgan are not for sale and they are looking long term at the club with da do ron ron at the helm.

Proofs in the pudding but not selling these two is a big step for us. Now we need the new players

Agree12 Disagree5

Kruger, does any one believe a word he is saying?? him and reed said we would not sell anyone??

Does anyone seriously believe this statement?

Agree9 Disagree7

It was a positive statement from kreuger. I've said this a hundred times over spider should be given the arm band and is the most vital cog in us playing attractive attacking football. over the last 2 seasons no one has more tackles and interceptions in the PL. hopefully we can get forster and van dijk in by the end of the week for 18m. This season is the first in a new 5 year plan and will be a rebuilding process. we are not being sold.

Agree9 Disagree3

Krueger has announced they WILL be leaving this summer.

Agree4 Disagree15

It's ok saying they are not for sale, but nor were our other top players. I have also seen eds and others post on other pages saying if we don't sell then they will force a move. Given our track record, if spider hands in a transfer request he is going. I would like to see him commit his future, to show that he is behind the owners going forward.

Agree3 Disagree4

Freddy also said we've reached our tipping point so stop flapping your gums, they're staying. for now. I thought it was a very honest interview both on TS and Solent. Adam Blackmore asked some great questions and I thought Wreck-It-Ralph's answers were very encouraging. There is only so much he can say from a business point of view and it seemed to me he was being very honest. I'm no mug and believe they have ultimately done the best they could for our long term future. with the exception of Calum. Chambers but that little bitch wants to sit on the bench for a year or two next to the other bit part Brits.

Agree10 Disagree3

Eckyecky why are you talking rubbish? He has said they are core to the rebuild of southampton football club. There is a plan as I thought and I'm feeling a lot better as from now. Spider will be captain and j rod will accept new deal. Happy bloody days so all you doom and gloomers go hang your heads in shame

Agree4 Disagree3

Marcos rojo is the defender mentioned not vlaar or van dijk. A bid has been tabled and we are in advanced talks.

29 Jul 2014 16:17:07
Looks like possibly Jonas from Valencia striker, Forster and van dijk from Celtic! Average players at best but at least we've signed someone, it's a start!

Agree1 Disagree6

They said just before the window opened that they wouldn't sell any players! I wouldn't believe them if they told me it's hot outside!

Agree3 Disagree2

Wow I have full confidence in the saints board/owner now phew! so what if they told a few little white lies personally think they are doing a really good job! :) NOT! personally think they are just TRYING to smooth over this mess with a couple of transfers which a lot of saints fans that don't know jack about football will just roll over and accept. Stand up and defend your club SFC till I die!

Agree0 Disagree6

Guys. I am not new to this place, used to comment under a different name, but since registration feel I need to start afresh. As the log in name suggests, HM forces and still a Saints fan. and trust me, I can get more concessionary at a bigger club than that I get at home (remember coming home of tour and not being able to get a ticket as I hadn't been to a game in the last 3 months. NO s***!!), however, please let me comment on my views on how I perceive things so far: The club is selling. why?? Bloody good business! AL gone for stupid PRICE! LS most expensive teenager ever. RL- all the best mucka and good luck, you deserve it for your loyalty, Dejan; excellent business! Now face the next facts. Pelle, replaced RL; Tadic makes AL look well overpriced. Matty T was always going to be given a shot. We still have JC, MS & VW which was never a surprise! Not forgetting Ramirez! FFS, our only downfall was not signing Caulker. never the less, we have 3 young players fighting for a first team team place. Can anyone remember last season when we were Questioning Shaw / Chambers starting?? Bet you can't if you have short term memory loss! KL is NOT looking to sell, why. two reasons. 1. Her dad, 2. You don't make money selling your best assets. FACT as financially club is worth less. I agree, foreign players are not the way forward, but we are no longer a bottom table club, nor are we a top 6. We are a feeder club so accept that (better this than fighting to stay up). I am confident, signings will be made, maybe not in time for Anfield to thrash them, but in time to regroup! Problem is board are not coming forward which worries you (a leader will always explain to an extent, the decision making process, and there is a lack, which provides speculation and this needs to be addressed in future), but if Tadic and Pelle are anything to go by. we are in a good place. Just trust in the system (although they need to learn by mistakes, just like the rest of us) and we will all move forward. There is no way (Contractually) that a manager individual would be given the position without knowing the boards plans (UK Contract Law not European) so. I believe. patience is a virtue (also regardless of opposition), I can't remember friendlies where we have won and kept clean sheets! I love my country, I love my county and I love my club. It will happen

Agree16 Disagree1

Hi ed, what do you make off Ralph. will spurs still and try and get rod and jay

I see morgan is a bit cheesed off he says 6 great years with the club destroyed In 1 hour. goodbye mate!

Agree5 Disagree1

Firm management at last!

Agree0 Disagree2

Listened to the Krueger interview on talk sport, he was adamant that jrod and sneiderlin are not leaving this window. But that was before sneiderlin just tweeted how his 6 year journey has just been ruined in 1hour he doesn't seem very happy and wants to go. wonder if Krueger will now change his mind like we did with lovren

Agree5 Disagree0

Looks like Morgan has thrown his dummy out!! This is why these big spoilt babies need to understand that a contract is a contract, and if they don't like it don't sign it!!

Agree10 Disagree0

Lets all be positive and move on. I cannot wait to see our new team come together, have faith friends.

Agree4 Disagree1

Sly now saying spider and JRod are still going, with spider asking to leave, my worry now is that if saints allow them to go Koeman will pack his bags! It's gone beyond a joke, we are a laughing stock

Agree3 Disagree6

Spider captain? I don't think so mate. Seen his tweets?
You start to realise what a difficult position the board are in. Out of all the players though I thought we could afford to lose spider! We have plenty of cm players.
Just because he said they are staying doesn't mean they want to stay. I say go the whole way and get rid of them if they want out, continue to rebuild and put this saga behind us.
Listening to talk sport and I think they are right when the said saints have proved there is a glass ceiling in the premier league.

Agree3 Disagree0

This has to be the line in the sand! We have managers, so manage, fine the big baby and let him train with the reserves. If ever proper management was needed this is it, particularly after that statement. Stand up and be counted.

Agree10 Disagree0

This is not good very unprofessional of spider to act like this. Agree with above if they don't want to be with the club let them go and rebuild new team. The players staying loyal with the likes of Benali and le tiss are well and truly gone.

Agree5 Disagree0

Totally agree with frank long. Morgan cannot be allowed to get his own way by behaving like this. We have other players capable of performing in his position so unless he apologises and comes into line he should be made to train alone and play for the U21 's. Time for the Club to make a stand.

Agree6 Disagree0

Deffo not getting the armband now ha. I did post about spiders antics when it happened but a lot of my posts don't end up showing. every player has a premium price if that price is not met we have no problems keeping a player that doesn't want to be here - Wreck it ralph.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed003's Note - SG there was loads of posts all repeating the same thing earlier on so a few are put through - sorry if some of yours didn't make it but the site can't be cluttered up with repetitive posts.}

If players want to leave they need to hand in a transfer request.
Doing this will lose them money.
Thats why they are doing interviews in other national papers or tweeting stuff like Spider did.
Its the cheaper option for them

Agree1 Disagree0

Hello Ed, is it still the rule that a player is entitled to 5% of the transfer fee but that is forfeited if he puts in a transfer request?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

Considering Morgans response on twitter I'm guessing he is not happy at not being sold

Agree0 Disagree0

Average players? Better than boruc and lovren IMO.

I am more concerned about spiders twitter comment!

Believable8 Unbelievable9

Agree6 Disagree1

Ed007 any news on this from Celtic's end, are they wrapped up or nearly wrapped up? Sorry to be taking your players but the supposed fees should allow for plenty a signing to replace.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Celtic will do everything in their power to make sure neither of them leave before their CL fate is known and I'd be surprised if either of the players would push for a move before then. If the £9.5 million offer for Forster is true that'll have been accepted IMO but Celtic will also look to keep everything under wraps so as not to derail the CL qualifiers.}

Could be the hand injury to Marshall that has proved ok after a scan could be a smokescreen? Just curious. MS acting exactly like Lovren, get rid and the ridiculous posts of giving him the armband are just farcical. The skipper is supposed to motivate the team, don't think you could pick anybody less suitable.

Asking this more in hope and desperation than expectation. please eds/anyone are there ANY solid rumours about players coming in?!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - I am actually surprised Clasie has not joined yet to be honest, I was told Koeman asked him to join him a while ago. I assume it is because Schneiderlin is there. The club are still trying to get a centre half, so I would expect some movement there now Lovren's deal is completed. I believe Savic is a player that has been earmarked, hence the arrival of Basanta at Fiorentina. So there might hopefully be movement there soon, fingers crossed. I am told that his previous experience in the Prem is why he is seen as the best option.}

Hi ed Savic would be agod signing but I thought he was going to Juventus? What about Vlaar or is he off to Man U? I would take Richards too to be honest as can play right back aswell. Clasie would be great surely he can come in before schneiderlin leaves if he has to leave?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - I don't know about Juve sorry. As far as I am aware Vlaar has not been the subject of any offers yet. I believe Clasie is seen as a direct replacement for Schneiderlin.}

Wow Ed, Clasie and Savic? What a pair of signings those would be. Not necessarily expecting us to be successful in luring them here but great to hear we are seemingly still intent on bringing in high calibre players.

Agree1 Disagree1

I really hope this is not true, savic is not in my opinion a good option. I would rather see money invested in players like rudiger-stuttgard, mendes-marseille, utmitti-lyon.

Am I wrong when thinking back when Markus leibherr passed (god bless his soul) the rumour flying around was that katherina did not want the club. Now I am still hoping for players to sign etc but doubts keep creeping into my mind and this is the latest 1. Have we not all been fooled in believing that she wants to continue forward as her dad would have she couldn't sell at the time because the 5 year plan him and cortese set up along with the money was supposedly in markus' will. Also thinking about it if he knew his daughter would keep the club with its best interests at heart as he had why did he even feel the need to put said plan in his will.

How do you know what was in his will lol

We are in for spuds left back Rose as he is unhappy at the Davies signing. Hope this is not true, would much prefer Rojo?

Also liverhampton are now sniffing around Clyne, after just selling Chambers if we sell Clyne then we are done!

Im not sure but it is seriously starting to look like KL wants out. We are selling everyone, spider and j rod could be gone by the end of today if you believe reports and if clyne was to go you would look in at the club and think we had just been relegated.

I actually don't think you would sell this many of your first team even if we had just been relegated. I have never seen anything like it in football!

What worries me is we don't seem to be fighting to keep the players! the signal I feel we are giving to all our players is simply if you say you want to leave we will let you go!

All the premier league clubs have cottoned on and are bidding for our players and they the spiral effect is going through the whole squad.

Enough all ready! the white flags are flying KL and Reed. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give us a chance!!

Believable9 Unbelievable3

Totally agree Ben, I posted a similar view yesterday, the board are acting as if we have been relegated, and unfortunately that's where we're going, I can't see the funds being reinvested, I can see us playing youth and buying fringe players to fill the holes - a championship squad at best - for me the dream is over

Agree6 Disagree2

Trouble is they want about 18 million for Rojo , don't think he's worth it.

Agree3 Disagree6

29 Jul 2014 10:07:14
At present Saints must be the most profitable arm of the Mali group, the return on investment has been outstanding, why would you sell?
We have been run incredible successfully since the takeover, why would that change?
The way I see it we are going through a transitional phase, necessary in order to progress over the next five years.
Financially we cannot compete with the clubs above us last season, only a stadium move/expansion could put us on equal ground.
With the reinvestment of surplus funds into such a project we can become a European power, but until then we are starting 3 goals down each season. We will never be able to be a stable European club until our finances are tripled.

Of course the sales could be a disaster but why expect one when we have been run so well over the past 5 years?

However should we be struggling next season I'll join the masses in a very vocal protest 😠

Agree4 Disagree3

We need a protest and we need it now. Brighton friendly being opportune

I know things are really bad at the moment and people want the board out and KL to sell up etc. I think much more of the understandable frustration ( I think the Echo didn't help much ) may well be enough push RoKo over the edge. We have had very hard times before but the fantastic support got us through it when we nearly went out of business. We need that again more than ever, I have and always will support the Saints no matter what. We support a CLUB not a team, players come and go but the club is for life. We have the club in our blood that is why there are so many disillusioned people out there including me. Keep the faith we have no choice. Give the club until a week before the season starts we will bring in players but not just buy for the hell of it. Difficult season coming up that's why boycotting or sending your ticket back will backfire on all of us. Darkest days need our total backing regardless of what the situation is.

Agree7 Disagree1

Danny Rose is absolute crap. Saints would be better off saving their pennies and signing no-one. Which they may well do, given that this summer seems all about making money.

Agree4 Disagree4

It amazes me the comments fans put here. It's as if they think the board and the players spend their time trolling through all the forums and papers, looking for tittle tattle.
They are professional business people, trying to do their best in a very unfortunate situation.
Now is not the time for protests! What do you think that will achieve? I can tell you, NOTHING! apart from making yoursleves look like mugs.
Now is the time for patience, to believe have faith.
Southampton are a club with a great history. We have a the nucleus of a great squad, we have a magnificent academy, we have money to spend, we have a highly respected manager/coach. We are being linked to some incredible players. Let's see what happens before January before we start burning flags.

Hi eds any word On the grapevine that saints might be put up for sale? Thanks mikeysfc.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - I wouldn't expect to hear anything myself on that kind of thing, sorry. That would be a totally different group of people from those I speak to involved in a sale.}

29 Jul 2014 09:00:46
So many questions. If there is a sale in the offing loads of people must be aware of it by now.
If Koeman knows something is going on why not walk now or is he waiting for the new owner to come in?
Someone mentioned why Reed would go along with it. pay which would mean he didn't have to work again?. no-one would employ him.
Is Mr. Cortese coming back under a new owner?
Are we just waiting for the club to sell Spider and J.Rod before the sell off?
The answers are out there so when will the truth emerge,,,,,and I've been one of the optimistic ones up to now.

Agree2 Disagree1

IRW, some interesting thoughts there, but could the overspending of Mr Cortese be behind the problems that we see now and the club is having to balance the books. What promises were made to MP and the players and not kept?

Something or someone has certainly stirred the pot that so many players have wanted to leave and interestingly all but 1 was involved in the World Cup. The odd one out, Chambers has been hunted by Arsenal for the past few months.

Now there are possibly 2 more leaving, 1 at the World Cup and the other would have been if it was not for injury.

There is more to this

Agree2 Disagree0

I have said all a long that it's ok saying 7 or so players were leaving, but without a reason why it's hard to accept. It looks like asset stripping with the view of selling up but why would KL attend games?
Is there really a long term plan? If there was it still doesn't make sense as selling ricky, lallana, shaw and lovren would have given us more than enough money to pay off debts and still have money left over for replacements.
Things don't add up and for all we know les reed could have his hands tied as well, and he might feel a fool for thinking saints were prepared to keep some top players.
I'm waiting till the season starts before making up my mind, but I supported saints under Lowe and I'm not just going to stop liking them. Talk of that is from fans jumping on board when we reached the premier league.

Agree2 Disagree1

We had 30m debt after cortese and that was due to staplewood. 30m debt is actually a very good figure in the premier league. United have over 300m debt. blaming cortese for the current boards bs. "we will keep our squad" - sells half. "the money will be re
-invested" - now they're saying the youth academy will fill in the gaps.

Agree2 Disagree1

28 Jul 2014 22:04:17

Believable8 Unbelievable5

29 Jul 2014 08:35:39
I personally would love it to happen.the sooner liebherr sells up the better

Agree6 Disagree4

I am trying to understand about everything going on here. Surely a football club is under the same financial controls as any other business and if the Liebherr family is performing some form of fire sale then the cash cannot disappear through some illegal payment scheme. There has to be an audit of all payments and why. If Liebherr are selling up then the cash and all assets have to remain in place therefore anyone taking over would have the cash at their disposal. Liebherr has to comply with European rules, we are not dealing with a Glazer situation here

Agree4 Disagree2

Doesn'tmake sense does it?

Agree1 Disagree0

Not enough people on here know the business side. There must be a poster on here that knows how the books work. Can she just take the money out of the club?
We at saints just need somebody to take over that would re invest the money. ( KL might do yet. ). We don't need a billionaire owner. Ffp restricts millions being chucked at a club anyway. We will have to remain a selling club to some extent, but this sort of sell off is very strange

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the board could pay out, if the shareholders agree. That would be the stumbling point, as Mike Ashley has found out with Sports Direct. The shareholders keep blocking him from paying himself a bonus.}

Can people stop calling this a fire sale!
I hate the fact that these players are departing but in fairness every single one has gone for or above their market value. The problem is our lack of urgency and seeming inability to replace and reinvest.

Agree4 Disagree0

Ed0001 you are right about the board paying out and the need for shareholder approval. It would be a majority vote of over 50% to get this through.
As Saints are privately owned I would suggest that this wouldn't be a stumbling block.
There are usually clauses in the Mem and Arts of companies which can stop the Majority shareholder from effectively dictating terms but these terms would have to go wholey against the principals of good business.
The players are being sold at above market value which is good business. not in the long term good for the club but nevertheless good business.
Am I right in thinking that the club is owned by a Trust. In which case the beneficiaries of that Trust (KL and any others) would effectively be the full shareholders.
Realistically because the company isn't publicly listed KL can do exactly what she wants.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you are probably right mate, I don't know the ins and outs of the ownership well enough to be able to comment any more than knowing that they need shareholder approval. The worrying thing is the Peter Ridsdale has shown it is possible to take huge sums out of a club and place them in your bank account even when it is about to go into administration. If I remember the correct amount, it was £800k out of Bradford, who were on the verge of folding at the time, so I would imagine the sums that are possible in the case of a fully solvent Southampton would be in the order of millions.}

You can put make up on a pig its still a f****ng pig. we are selling players that do not need to be sold and should not be sold.

Agree2 Disagree1

I will refrain from calling this a 'fire sale' again, but someone or something has fired up these players (and the coach) that they all want to leave? Have some greedy agents been stirring the pot while they were out of the control of the club during the World Cup?

Agree2 Disagree0
