CONFIRMED on OS Caulker has signed on LOAN

Hopefully he is the replacement for Gardos not Toby and we are still searching for Toby's replacement

I would like another more in personally. Another DM and a winger, what are others preferences?

Cover for Gardos I trust. We still need VVD and a winger. I wonder if there is an option to buy?

RK should give Ramirez a chance as a playmaker, the talent is there, just needs game time IMO

I reckon we need a playmaker. If we play 4-4-1-1. that's ok we don't need anyone in that position but if we play 4-2-3-1. We need a central attacking midfielder because our options aren't good enough. And considering we will need to play both formations this season. I feel a central attacking midfielder is a must.

I think it's a great signing. Fits the same mould as both Alderweireld and Lovren whose careers had stalled before joining us, and he's only 23 so has a lot to prove. Van Dijk is still very much on the radar apparently.

Koeman has just stated he is "unsure" on the future of Gaston because he "has had a lot of injuries in the last two years". During preseason "after one week he was injured again". Furthermore he didn't travel to Austria or Netherlands due to the injuries. We all want him to do well, but looks like he can't cope with the premier league's long,harsh, physical season.

Just need a CAM and VVD and all done!

MilkySaint - We need a CAM. Tadic plays best on the wing, he's got a bit of a free role on the wing, but he's never played through the miiddle. I reckon we probably need to get a back up striker as well. That and VVD.

We need back up for Pelle. J-rod can play there but is more of a wider front man.
VVD would be fantastic. His stats are great and he looked on top form last night.
I think we have enough cover in midfield.
I would like to see Tadic play through the middle in that role. Bit late now but could have been worth a try in the friendlies.

Oh and that back up striker for me would be SRL. Cheap money and will do a job for a season at least until Sam Gallagher is ready.

i think most people are convinced that VVD is the best CD around at the moment but I have my doubts . When Vlaar was bandied around a lot were saying well if he is that good why is nobody else seriously after him . Well I'll say the same about Virgil , if he is the top CB like you all say he is why is there not a queue of clubs lining up for him . I think the reason is that he is unproven at this level and is known to be a bit of a cavalier on the field . He may work out to be a great buy but still seems to me to be a bit risky especially considering the shed loads of money he is going to cost. If Vlaar gets fit he would fit the bill for a couple of seasons with the back up we have and that will allow us time to find a top class replacement for our tremendous captain Jose Fonte who will unfortunately lose his legs by then . Just my opinion and awaiting a hammering over this!

Ramirez needs or needed a full pre season. I think he was given the benefit of the doubt for the last two years as he was always playing catch-up through not having a full pre season. This one he started well but got injured, so once again he is playing catch-up and that hasn't worked out well for him since he joined. If there are takers, I think Koeman will let him go. He has undeniable talent but is too flakey.

Not sure he ever got started Esso but on the other hand he has as much skill and talent if not more than anybody else we have on our books . So frustrating but agree we will probably move him on unless something remarkable happens . Another of Cortese's great purchases so the picture is beginning to emerge that he got too involved with purchasing of players when he should have left it to the people that knew . Unfortunately NA was the manager at the time and he was just a tea boy when it came to decision making at that time . If RK had been there at the time we would never have signed him or the clown Osvaldo saving us many , many millions which could have been used more wisely. Probably best to clear all the dead wood even though we have had to take huge losses and start again. Still think that Gaston has it all ( apart from fitness ) and that is a great shame. Trouble is one good game from him could change everything but I doubt it will happen.

Pacy winger on loan. not sure on his wages but what about cuadrado from Chelsea? He wouldn't be able to play against his parent club, but could surely do some damage to their rivals if we had him. Plus would give him another year and some game time to get accustomed to the English game. Bit hopeful and unlikely nbut If we could sort out wages he'd be a fantastic signing

I think winger/second striker is the one area we are pretty well covered in, Mane, Long, Jay Rod, Tadic, Juanmi, Isgrove, McQueen and possibly Ramirez will all be competing for those attacking positions in the first team this year.
