Jordy Clasie of Feyernoord has handed in a transfer request to push for a move to Southampton. We have contacted Feyernoord in the last few hours.

Which is it then or are both guesses

Man U manager said on Sky no more signings need to give existing lads a chance to shine. Cassette to us no doubt about it

Fingers crossed. Would, as others have said, be a cracking statement of intent.
Fingers crossed there could be a few this week.

Agree7 Disagree0

So where does it say he's handed a request in?

Also guys more positive news, Jordy Clasie has handed in a transfer request at Feyenoord today. Was Roko's captain! He looks absolute class and I would rather sign him regardless of whether the crying Morgan stays or goes!

Clasie would be an amazing signing What a week it could be if we signed Rojo Clasie and Zaha (oh and why not through Danny Ings into the dream mix)
That would be eating humble pie after all I've said about the board

Agree5 Disagree0

Mmm humble pie. the sweetest pie of all. I hope so.

Taider deal confirmed done by RoKo

Believable15 Unbelievable9

Obviously we have been linked for a long time but as the deal looks more and more likely, what is he actually like as a player? Does anyone know?

Agree4 Disagree4

Inter fans are gutted :)

Agree3 Disagree4

Apparently the player has himself confirmed on his twitter account.

With regards to Ezequiel Schelotto I have to admit I don't know much about him so I have done the standard youtube check! I hate to say it but this guy looks turd!

Normally on youtube you find a compilation of said players best bits! this guys compilation makes interesting watching, you might think its a compilation of his worst buts! unfortunately it is not!

If I have this wrong please let me know but i'm hoping we don't get this guy! thoughts?

Agree7 Disagree3

Very adept at picking the ball up from deep and linking the midfield with attack. Similar style to wild here but with more pace/power.

Agree1 Disagree3

To saint_ben_basingstoke, Schelotto was seen as a hot prospect in Italy, but like Taider (the other guy we're getting on loan) they made the move to Inter too early in their careers. Schelotto went on loan to Parma and according to Parma fans, he was very good. Hopefully we get the Parma version of Schelotto and he is a fast winger so he gives us depth in a position we lack.

Agree5 Disagree5

What do you mean 'wild'

Agree3 Disagree1

Jonathan Biabiany looks a much better option in my opinion

Agree6 Disagree1

I agree, apparently West Brom have submitted a 5m bid already.

Agree3 Disagree0

Sorry was supposed to say wilshere.

Agree3 Disagree1

Saintsfan25: ok well if we get him let's hope he lights the premiership up

Agree3 Disagree1

I would rather get Biabiany over Taider or Schelotto. Our centre mid options are good already and a winger is what we lack. Biabiany has raw pace and good dribbling, would bring a different dimension to the team

Agree2 Disagree0

@Seattle Saint:

Taïder is quite mentally/tactically astute, he sees the pass before others and tackles with the right amount of aggression. He is also good at controlling the play and being apart of both slow & quick build up plays.
His only downside is his attitude, he can lose momentum.

However, I see him as a very Koeman-esque sort of player, very similar to Clasie but he plays a little further upfield so is not quite as defensive. If he is a big part of Koeman's plans (a starter in the squad) then I see this as very efficient transfer with Osvaldo going the other way.

Agree2 Disagree0

Nothing on the player's twitter account

Ron Vlaar is having a talk with Paul Lambert at Villa today to discuss his future, contract and wage offer etc. Villa are in a financial mess and I don't expect them to be able to offer him the deal that we can by some way. Roko knows him well as you know and I expect him to be a Southampton player by Monday. I might be wrong but that is my gut feeling and I think he would bring the experience and stability to the defence that we so many times lacked last season. I know we had a good season but if you look at the second half of the season we were quite average defensively. I think most teams worked out our way of playing high and adapted their game to suit and as you know MoPo had no Plan B. We conceded so many over the top of midfield goals last season and if RoKo is planning to play the high pressing game as he has said he likes, someone like Ron Vlaar as the rock at the back is essential.

Agree5 Disagree6

Hope so Rojo would be amazing

Agree8 Disagree2

Rojo is a distinct possibility and would be a major statement of intent. Negotiations are ongoing this weekend.

The Board is doing the right thing in not paying over the odds.

Still too many naive fans out there. Some of whom think we should get the deal done before other clubs pounce.

Doesn't work that way. Rojo will know from his agent which clubs are genuinely interested. If Saints meet the asking price, that doesn't conclude the deal. This is when any decent agent will broadcast the agreement to other interested parties.

Even if Southampton offer 16 million, the deal might go elsewhere anyway.

It does me amuse me the way fans are so keen to spend other people's money.

The Rojo deal will cost the club over 30 million over the full term of his contract. And yes, the club needs to know that the money is there. Otherwise you turn into Portsmouth.

Keeping the price down will free up money that can be spent elsewhere.

Just read that we may be offered Ezequiel Schelloto or Campagnaro in exchange for Osvaldo as Taider doesn't really want to take a drop in salary if he was to join us. Schelloto is a good player but another midfielder and Campagnaro is 34 years old but vastly experienced. Seems to me we can't get rid of Osvaldo that easily after one of the biggest signing cock-ups ever ( thank you Mr Cortese ). Probably think that NC was pushed and asked to resign rather than the other way round. Just another thought during our times of peril, I don't know if you have noticed it but it seems the squad seem very relaxed and let's face it the pre-season has been very encouraging. I wonder whether they are secretly happy that the would be prima donnas have left the club. I think they might you know.

Agree6 Disagree7

I feel rojo may end up at Chelsea, they could do with a lb and they have showed interest. Don't hold your breath

Agree5 Disagree4

{Ed005's Note - Chelsea has brought in Filipe Luis already.}

If RK adopts a high backline we'll need someone quicker than Vlaar for the balls over the top. I agree he would be solid and I'd love it if he signed but Van Dijke/Rojo are pretty nifty and would probably be quicker in those situations. I'm greedy though so Les just sign all 3 please!

Agree5 Disagree7

I agree, not expecting him to sprint back. I think he would play as an old fashioned sweeper and hold the ball until the defensive midfielders got back into position.

Agree2 Disagree2

He is primarily a CB not a LB, you can see this as he was played there all last season for Sporting

Agree5 Disagree2

Osvaldo was a MoPo signing.

Agree6 Disagree1

And I've not heard one inter fan schelloto. they have been comparing him leaving to christmas.

Agree4 Disagree2

*praise

Cortese offered his resignation for the second time to liebherr and this time she accepted

A couple of paper story's today.
Daily telegraph are reporting that Bayern Munich are wanting arthr boruc, with the club looking for a back up to Manuel neuer, but saints are still in negotiations with Celtic over Forster.

Osvaldo is get to complete his loan move to inter, with a permanent deal expected in the future.

Also saints are considering making a £15 million move to javier Hernandez (I say just get him)

Saints are willing to dig their heels in to prevent Morgan leaving for spurs

Believable10 Unbelievable3

I would like to see a loan move for Hernandez with a view to buy for £15m. Buying him outright I feel is a risk.

I thought Hernandez rejected a move to Southampton as part of the Shaw deal. so I doubt that.

Why would Hernandez reject a move as part of the shaw deal. That don't sound right,

there was talk he wanted to go to a bigger club as
saints were a step backwards

Agree4 Disagree3

Why does everyone love Hernandez so much, personally I think that he would think he's to good for us anyway, yes he scores goals but he doesn't have the link up play that we would want in a striker, I'd rather get someone younger with more potential

Agree6 Disagree4

It is right. we asked about having hernandez as part of the deal but he feels he is to good for us. jog on.

Agree5 Disagree3

Hernandez would be sick playing him with 2 upfront with someone like pelle, and a born finisher something we lacked last season. However I doubt he would be much cop playing upfront on his own.

Sadly I also thought he made a comment on twitter about Southampton being to small a club for him so doubt its on the cards.

Fingers crossed though

Agree4 Disagree1

Hernandez is not as good as he thinks he is!
