nigel adkins will try to sign rob green from QPR for a fee of 2.5 million
Believable4
Unbelievable29
No, he won't. Southampton already have 2 goalkeepers over 30 both of which are better than Robert Green.

Lambert will be at our club till he retires, he is settled here with his family he won't want a move to anywhere except if Liverpool came calling that would be the only club that will turn his head.
Agree16

Nobodys mentioned Lambert.

QPR got him for free and there are reasons for that. He is an awful keeper. Way past his prime and worse at catching than Boruc was in the first 5 minutes against Arsenal.
Agree10

Liverpool wouldnt come in for lambert anyway, they signed sturridge for 12 mill today
Agree6

Saints will only sign players who will improve what we have got, Rob Green would be 4th choice behind Kelvin, Artur and Paulo.

We might aswell should recall tommy forecast if we are planning to get green

How many more times are people going to copy and paste this from the echo website this is the same old echo crap we get every year.
Also why Gary hooper this comes around every transfer window it's getting boring why would he look at coming to southampton when he has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona. We don't need another striker we have loads, as soon as Adkins starts Rodriguez and leaves guly out the team we will score goals. We need cb and a safe pair of hands and maybe a l/r sided winger for cover we will have a good team
Agree10

I do hope most of these stay rumors, Saints don't need any championship players just need some quality experienced players at the back then that will be satisfactory, anymore players would be dangerous if we don't sell first.

I almost fell off my seat at £6m for Scott Dann!!

Hooper linked with Real Madrid and Barcelona? AHAHA

What about Lovren? Agree with above, please let most of these stay as rumours. I just hope we dont get ahead of ourselves incase of relegation and massive wage bill. We do wanna invest to stay up in order to get big prem royalties, but lets keep it sensible eh! As for Lambert, really cant see why he'd want to go before end of season, nor why we'd want to let him go, dont need the money, need the goals!

Where did you hear Hooper was linked to Real M
Agree4

Hooper couldn't cut the grass at Real Madrid, if Modric can't make it there what chance would he have, he's not good enough for Southampton

He heard that one in Viz not Billy but Hooper the Fish.

Besler signed a new contract 5 weeks ago at kansas . so wont happen

According to todays mirror. saints have rejected an approach for rickie lambert from west ham.

If Spam Wallydyce & the Garnetts really want Mr Lambert, let them talk to him once they have put in an acceptable offer of 35m. Otherwise they can do one
Agree15

We paid 1.2m for lambert a few years back and now age isn't on his side.
I'm a big Lambert fan, but look at the return on investment we've had our use of lambert 2 fold, is he going to be able to cut it at 32 33 in the Prem?
i'm sure he will not be sold in this window as if the worst happens and we go down we will need him. Hence Billy sharp will remain under us but on loan until this season ends
how much is a striker worth at the age of 31 with 7 goals in his first season in the prem??
Agree4

35 mil ^ .

This transfer window his value should any club be asking should be 35m

I would be surprised if Allardyce would have the nerve to waste his time.
I can't see any bid being successful and I can't see Lambert even wanting to leave unless it was a huge club.
I'm shocked any saints fan would contemplate selling Lambert for less than £10m. You talk of Lambert's worth - to us now he is worth £50m. If he goes, we will really struggle to stay up. If we go down, we lose mega bucks. When the team is a stronger unit, Lambert wont be so crucial but will be an excellent player nonetheless. He should stay as I feel he will be a great asset for at least a couple of years to come. When he hangs up his boots, he could be a coach or maybe an ambassador for the club. If we stay up this season, which we should, for me, no player would have done more for the club in such a short space of time with 2 promotions and Premier League survival.
I am so pleased that I get to watch Lambert who I'm sure will be a Southampton Football Club Legend along with the likes of Le Tissier.
Agree11

The most we could ever get for Lambert is £5mil (based on his age and the spending potential of interested clubs) and he is worth significantly more than that to us. So this won't happen.
Lambert is likely to be the difference between staying up and going down, which is priceless to Saints.
Agree8

Haha you have a pop at Celtic fans for valuing Hooper in the £20M bracket when he is a hungry, young, exciting player who's scoring in the Champions League then you go and say Lambert who is 31 and playing in his 1 and only season in the prem is worth £35M
Absolutely laughable

Thats pretty mut h what i was thinking

Lambert may not be worth £35m, but would cost big money to sign a replacement so he will not be sold unless a massive bid comes in.
Agree7

It's called humour you muppets. Lambert for 35m....see Andy Carrott transfer to Lillypond. On a serious not he's worth a fortune to us as far as helping to keep us up is concerned. It's true we haven't learnt to cope without him in this league yet but we will, by which time his market value will be minor. Are you looking forward to school next week?
