Just cropped up on twitter: Wanyama's father Noah Wanyama "My son will make a sober decision. Be patient, he will make a decision in the coming days. "

Source: Saints news and views

Believable13 Unbelievable5

Is the decision between us, Cardiff and somewhere in Europe?

Agree6 Disagree2

Is Wanyama a bit of a drinker then. ?

Agree13 Disagree4

I wouldn't be surprised if he was a problem drinker given how frustrating his agent has been.

Are we still in for Wanyama or has that dried up?

Believable16 Unbelievable3

I've just heard that apparently he's sacked his agent which if it's true I can see us being back in for him, if not then it's dead in the water

Agree6 Disagree5

Thought this one had died out ages ago. Why is it still being mentioned.
We bid, he said no (for whatever reason) we moved on

Agree9 Disagree3

God only knows.

Agree4 Disagree1

He didn't say no, his agent wanted a ridiculous amount so WE pulled out.

Agree4 Disagree2

He's just signed for PSG so that's a load of Pooh!

Agree0 Disagree11

If he sees sense he'll sign for us

Agree2 Disagree1

No he has not joined PSG you person!

Agree5 Disagree0

Dont need him a centre forward and winger much more needed

Agree3 Disagree1

^Actually, yes we do need someone to rotate with cork/spider

Agree2 Disagree1

I'd say we're still talking to him, yeah. It is likely (is it, or am I totally naive?) the news coverage following his/his agent's rebuff of our personal terms made them think twice about what they're asking for. We know he was a real target, I'd find it weird if we just dropped it.

That said, we also know Cardiff have upped their bid and he (apparently) likes their terms, maybe they are content with paying what we consider to be above the odds.

Agree0 Disagree0

Getting fed up with all these stupid rumours the players saints have been linked with are going to be snapped up by big clubs who pay big wages saints should be more realistic and go for players who want to play for the shirt and not the money

Romelu Lukaku to sign for southampton as chelsea will sign Edinson cavani. COYR

Believable13 Unbelievable27

Would love it but I would say its highly doubtful. He will have his pick of teams and will demand high wages. Possibly on loan but I can't see us developing other teams players.

Jannersaint

Agree12 Disagree4

I'd love this to be true!
(Just think on the odd occasion when SRL is ineffective, we'd have Lukaku waiting to step on the pitch!) - The stuff dreams are made of! COYR's

Agree11 Disagree1

Would love this to be true but I really do not believe this.

Agree13 Disagree2

I wish this were true but I doubt it.

Agree14 Disagree1

If chelsea don't want him he'll sing for west brom

Agree6 Disagree12

Does he have a nice voice then?

Agree12 Disagree1

Yeah I heard he has a very good voice. Great singer apparently.

Agree7 Disagree1

Sorry sign for west brom. its been long day lol

Agree4 Disagree7

Would be a great signing he ripped us to shreds in the home game last season, but why are we waiting so long for our new signings, look at swansea they don't hang about

Agree8 Disagree0

Lukaku will not be leaving Chelsea this window

I have heard that Luke Shaw may have a serious illness/condition like Lallana had. not sure how this would effect him signing an new deal or going elswhere?

Would appreciate any confirmation on this?

Believable3 Unbelievable34

There is rumours then there is cruel malicious lies. Don't post things like that. Even if true no place for it on a rumour site.

Agree28 Disagree4

No truth in it at all. Either you have an overactive imagination or someone is having you on

Agree16 Disagree3

So, what part of Portsmouth are you from?

Agree19 Disagree4

The trolls are out today!

So, you won't be wanting to sign him now?

Saint Martin

Agree9 Disagree3

He seems pretty active on his twitter account even mentioning the pre season fitness regime yesterday

Agree8 Disagree1

Yes, for someone who has a serious illness/condition, strange he was at Southampton University doing pre-season fitness tests!

Saint Martin

Agree6 Disagree2

Are you alright in the head?

Agree4 Disagree0

Southampton Solent University*

Please don't mistake the two!

Southampton are attempting to bring Ajax winger Viktor Fischer to St Marys and that they have almost completed deals for Inter Milan's Japanese international full-back Yuto Nagatomo and Napoli striker Lorenzo Insigne.

Believable2 Unbelievable14

I hope Insigne is true. real class with awesome ability on the ball when running at defenders

Agree10 Disagree1

Viktor Fischer is going to be a brilliant player in the future, would be a great signing

Agree9 Disagree0

Whether this is feasible or true, signing these players would definitely put us with the Swansea, WBA and liverpools (if no Suarez ). That being said I doubt insigne is feasible if they lose cavani, nagatomo would feed corteses Japanese fetish and Fischer is up there with eriksson in potential

Agree4 Disagree0

Insigne please, he is insane! and would be a huge sign of intent! I know Southampton are going places and I love it

Agree7 Disagree2

Can't deny how good all of these would be to add to the depth in the main team and squad. Would allow some class to drop to the bench and get decent full back cover.

Agree2 Disagree0

Fischer would be a massive signing!

Agree1 Disagree0

Just wish something would happen soon otherwise we will have a disjointed squad. We need the pre-season to gel for a good start to the season.

Agree2 Disagree0

I think we'll be fine at the beginning of the season, we've improved the defence which was our main problem last season. I think the problem will come when the players start to get tired like they did at the end of last season, that's when we'll need the extra players

Any news on players on the way out?
De Ridder
Guly
Chaplow
Fox
Hoisveld/Fonte
etc

Need to clear to decks to get players in surely or do you think we are buying in before selling.

Believable10 Unbelievable1

I got a chance to speak to De Ridder recently and he said he's holding out for an offer to return home to Belgium.

Agree9 Disagree1

Not Forgetting Barnard and Hammond- who are still on the books. Sharp and Lee too.

Agree5 Disagree0

Such a shame lee didn't really get the chance he needed. Looked like he could have been quite an asset when I first saw him
Then the injury

Then back to Japan.

Taras Stepanenko - Ukrainian plays for Shakhtar Aged 23 Southampton placed bid and Shakhtar have accepted.

Believable5 Unbelievable16

What's your source, mate?

Agree6 Disagree2

From inside the club can't mention names though.

OP

Agree1 Disagree14

We should go for Douglas Costa instead love him would add just what we need.

Agree9 Disagree1

He's got one hell of a karate kick on him!

Agree5 Disagree1

We won't sign a player who has only played 41 times in 3 years in the Ukrainian league. Balderdash

Saints are making a bid for Belgian Strike Jelle Vossen. He is young, full of talent and been in great for in the last few seasons at Genk. I hope this comes off he would fit in perfect at St Marys.

My Parents were in Belgium this weekend and saw this in an article in one of the local papers.

Winston

Believable7 Unbelievable14

If he's Belgian, sign him! He must be amazing. Belgium at this rate will win the World Cup ;)

Agree5 Disagree8

Not sure that follows. De Ridder's from Belgium

Agree8 Disagree2

It was sarcasm!

Agree6 Disagree2

Was Jelle Van Damme Belgian? {Ed031's Note - he was indeed

Agree2 Disagree1

Was john cluade van damme his brother
lol

Agree0 Disagree2

Jelle was a mad one but I would never have told him to his face.

Agree1 Disagree0

Maybe there's a swap in the offing
