Source who works at metro sports blog believes that saints are in talk this afternoon with bologna completing the last small details before announcement this evening or tomorrow.

Southampton doctors in Bologna. Ramirez going through medical tests in a private centre. It's a race against the clock before the deadline.

A medical takes half a day maximum - plenty of time. Should all be ready to go too... it's not like this is shocking news! We've had the last couple of weeks to prepare everything for medicla/contract signings. Can't imagine there will be any hold ups.

It's usually a race against the clock if the medical takes place on the final day (tomorrow). Today gives us plenty of time!

Is it ACTUALLY a race against the clock!? My understanding is that medicals are pretty much the last step, after all terms have been agreed and permits secured etc.

The confusion with liverpool and the late bid is a mix up in translation. bologna have tried to sign a player and had the bid rejected and liverpool have gone after that player. thats what the italian report said anyway

How do Liverpool make a bid for a player when their manager is quoted TODAY that they need to sell before they can bring anyone else in? And even if they sold someone today funds would be unlikely to be available until after the deadline.

What research? Fact is that if the medical is done today it wouldn't be a 'race against the clock'. That's all I have said! Which is 100% correct, lots of players do medicals on the penultimate day and sign with plenty of time to spare. FACT.

I think you've been smoking too much of your own product if you think Fonte will ever be up to the pace of the EPL. We absolutely need another CB signing. Otherwise, two people injured/unavailable and we have to play Dan Seaborne in the first team. Are you comfortable with that?!
