Dejan Loren deal to Tottenham will be announced tomorrow (Saturday) - reliable source. Really unhappy about this.

Believable13 Unbelievable38

I have also been told this, not very happy about it at all.

we were told no players would be sold prior to a new manager being appointed. Are you kidding me?

Agree15 Disagree6

FFs hope not

Agree3 Disagree6

I know montecristo, i'm thinking the same. Nice to see done fans still have hope but I'm defo losing mine. Bit annoyed Krueger has been talking out of ass though. Saying transparency is healthy but not letting on to any of the deals before the press get hold of it

Agree4 Disagree2

if any saints players are sold to spurs
then liebherr krueger and reed are really taking the mickey out of the saints fans
but don't hold your breath
i think krueger was brought in to sell our best assets despite what he has said
forestsaint

Agree5 Disagree6

Krueger was brought in to be the face of southampton, he does the PR and live interviews, he has nothing to do with anything footballing wise

Agree7 Disagree5

By the way, I really hope the source is wrong on this. It's somebody who works with the youth set up, so it may be that they are wrong. Just passing on what I was told by his Mrs.

To me, Lovren is more important to keep than Shaw.

krueger is pulling the purse strings
beleive it 4 million for ricky lambert plus 2 million from pochettino deal that's 6 million and counting

Well its 6.30 and nothing has happened so unless that changes in a few hours your source is unreliable

After the Lambert deal the next will be Morgan to Arsenal. Should be finalised end of next week. No player exchange but 9.5 million plus extra's is the rumoured amount. Personally I think we will miss him more than Lambert.

Believable12 Unbelievable18

Not true / lovren to spurs going to come out this weekend

Agree7 Disagree15

You've missed a 2 off've that transfer fee, absolutely no way he'd go for less than the Shaw and Lallana offers

Agree5 Disagree10

I don't think any one else will leave us now. I think we will keep the rest of our players as there is no need to sell them

Agree9 Disagree13

Well my optimism has well and truly dwindled. But I'm still left with question marks why? Have we large debts to cover? Is she planning on selling up? Still haven't seen any valid reason on here why selling our best players makes sense. On or off the field

Agree10 Disagree1

Ronald Koeman is now odds on to be the next Southampton manager and he has stated that he wants the job.

This would be a great move for Southampton.

Naysayers who say that because we've sold SRL please stop.
Even if Shaw goes, it will only be for £30M+
Same for Lallana.

With Koeman's connections, as long as this is reinvested in the club then we can move to the next level.

You lot are too eager to think the worst.

Believable12 Unbelievable14

Forget it you will getting a swiss manager!

Agree5 Disagree8

30 May 2014 18:10:35
I'd take Yashin, Koeman or Laudrup.

30 May 2014 18:16:43
Yakin is strongly linked with Sparta plaque I believe?

Agree9 Disagree4

I agree IRW couldn't believe Koeman interest was real but any of those 3 would be fine, once new manager is announced we ca move on. Don't worry about people leaving as long as we get big fees invest well, in Bale and Shaw we have created two world class left sided players in less than a decade who else is managing that in England

Agree3 Disagree3

I would really like yakin hopefully we can still get him, koeman has quite a jaded past

Pochettino hoping to beat liverpool to the signings of Lovren and Lallana, soton already in talks with Liverpool for Lallana.

Believable15 Unbelievable27

30 May 2014 14:25:17
Lallana will very likely end up at Liverpool, Shaw to his boyhood and beloved Chelsea while Lambert too will get his wish.

Agree14 Disagree13

I agree with Magic, aside from Shaw who will go to Manchester United not Chelsea. I hope we will hang on to Lovren, but suspect Schneiderlin will get a move to Arsenal.

Personally, I would prefer De Boer or Yakin over Koeman. I hope the rumour I heard about Lennon is rubbish.

Lambert to Liverpool done. Believed to be 4mil plus add-ons. Les Reed okayed this one. not being left to the new manager. It was considered too good an opportunity for Rickie to pass up.

Shame but if anyone deserves his shot at big club in the last few years of his career then its Rickie Lambert. He has been a legend for us and I wish him all the success in the world.

onwards and upwards. COYR!

Believable27 Unbelievable6

How can this be all but done the transfer window doesn't open until June 9th

Agree7 Disagree5

I feel this is start of an exodus - as a Saints fan since 1979 I was full of optimism when we finished 8th. But what message does selling our better players send to any prospective managers, we're less likely to attract that high-calibre manager when we have the sold are best assets.

The board have contradicted their recent statements and greater transparency and respect is needed to be shown to Saints fans

Agree15 Disagree6

I don't think anyone can begrudge Rickie a chance to play for his boyhood club and earn one last big paycheck and play in the CL, I wish him the best of luck and my thanks for his massive part in our rebirth. the #7 shirt is now up for grabs I hope that the next player to wear it can achieve the same legendary status as its previous owners.

Agree20 Disagree2

@Tommo - Players can sign for other teams at any time, they just don't become official until the window opens

@willsa - The board haven't contradicted anything, they said no bids have been accepted, yet, but it's likely they will be, on Southampton's terms. They've also released a official statement through Krueger once a month since he came in as well as TV/Radio interviews, there's no lack of transparency

Losing Lambert isn't the end of the world, he's on his way out (probably just had his last good season), it gives us space in the squad and a bit of extra money to get someone younger (Hoping we're in for Bony) and if the quoted figures are right it's good business from Southampton

Agree6 Disagree2

I don't want to stop Lamberts move and at the reported 9 million I would say fair play! but i'm hearing its only 4 million? that can't be right for an england international and one of only a handful of strikers in europe to get more than ten goals and ten assists last season? does anyone else think 4 million is not enough for our leg end?

Agree15 Disagree1

Saintysaintsaint in Kreugers ssn statement he said no transfers would happen until a new manager was appointed. that's contradiction. Ed 1 pointed out that Ricky has pushed this through and personally I wish him well but Krueger should know better than to make those kind of comments if this was going to be allowed to happen.

Agree5 Disagree0

Also, I agree with SaintySaintSaint. The club has never contradicted themselves, the fee will have been on Reed's terms. As for Lambert himself, this would be the greatest moment of his life, if any other club had made a bid like this it would've been rejected but Liverpool really mean something to him.

Agree3 Disagree1

He said they wanted to wait until they knew MoPo was staying or not, nothing about the new manager

Agree1 Disagree0

Read it again mate
"Any transfers that take place will be under our terms. We will decide the terms to potential transfers in and out of the club.

"We will involve the manager. That is important for everybody to know. That's why we have been able to not agree to any transfers to date, because we have control of the situation, and anybody who is saying anything else doesn't understand that we are in a strong position with the Saints. "

Agree6 Disagree1

Maybe I read a badly quoted one somewhere then haha but it said something along the lines of 'we wanted to know the manager situation before reviewing bids'

maybe that means we've sorted a manager though?

Agree1 Disagree0

It's a contradiction, plain and simple.
If it can't be substantiated or backed up with action then by definition it's a contradiction, double standards call it what you want. Selling our best players now does not send out a positive message, nor will it attract the high-calibre manager. We need to sustain what we have and build on that. I'm just wondering what the impact of RL's sale on the rest of the squad will be; hopefully not a domino effect

Agree5 Disagree0

30 May 2014 10:04:18
As I mentioned when I was shot down last week for being rubbish KL and RK are planning to sell stars. The reason they are denying this is because they want the best price. The players will be replaced by youth and a mix of signings to try and stay in the premier league so that the club will still be of value. I am gutted as that was before I knew for sure MP was going and now SRL. latest I have heard is that the new manager will be be some one with prem exp and out of a job. Mackay - please no!

Believable6 Unbelievable8

30 May 2014 12:24:46
the sooner liehberr sells the better we soon won't have any players left
forestsaint

Agree9 Disagree5

Let's not overreact. I love SRL but he has probably played his best for us and would be unhappy if he stayed.
This team grew together and the spirit was what pulled them through sometimes but every team needs to develop and there is nothing to say that we can't rebuild successfully. What I would say is that it has to be done quickly. A new manager will staedy the ship and the first big signing will get everyone buzzing again.
Why people keep harping on about asset stripping to sell the club I can't understand.
It's not the board who want to leave the club and it's them who have the difficult task of keeping us on course.
I think that is is a great dis-service to KL to keep slagging her when she has does nothing to deserve it.
We need to back the board and give them the time they need to react to quickly changing circumstances.
We can come out of this stronger but we need to show unity.

Agree6 Disagree3

I was far from slagging them off. This is news I have heard from inside the club. Let's see over the summer. If you are right I will be delighted.

Agree2 Disagree2

All they had to do to keep us on course was to leave cortese alone simple.

Hey ed002 I saw that u stopped posting on this page due to abuse i'm really sorry to hear that. i'm annoyed a few people would stoop so low when a lot of us are very greatful for your input.

Have you any news on southampton at all? Maybe top manager targets or updates on transfers. i'm expecting lambert lallana shaw to leave for silly money but are we going to be short changed by the board or could it be a very interesting summer for us.

Hope you reply any input into are bleak month would be good either way.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - I got kicked out for mentioning Pochettino, Shaw, Lovren, Lallana and Schneiderlin wopuld be subject of decent bids. I will not give you too much as it will attract abuse. Get over the next 10 days and hopefully it will settle.}

30 May 2014 07:33:07
Disgusting behaviour from some people.

Fans have got to grip reality.

I wasn't the only person to warn this would be a turbulent summer.

Now Lambert is going to Liverpool for £4 million plus add on , increasing to £9 million eventually.

Lallana will likely leave, Shaw told the club ages ago that he wants to go (fact, live with it).

Expect interest in Chambers, Jay, Morgan Schneiderlin and Lovren as well.

Entirely likely that Southampton will receive over £100 million this summer but will spend less than half on replacements

Agree5 Disagree3

I am one that is behind Kruger. I think our club is in a terrific position. Arguably the best position we have ever been in. Why would poch want to leave? Why shaw? Spider lovren etc etc
But the more time goes on, the more I question les reed and kreugers honesty.
Something isn't right. I bet most saints fans and Liverpool fans don't understand the lambert deal.
I will just be waiting to see what "high calibre" mAnager will still want to come here, if what the papers continue to report are true. But wag are we happens, I will still be a saints fan. Just wish we could make sense of it all.
And why, if KL was interested in making slot of money fast, would she attend the games?
Abd eds, I think you need to have thicker skin, I didn't witness any abuse myself, but I think it's perfectly normal for fans going through what have happened of the past couple of months, to question some of your knowledge. Hope this all gets resolved soon so we can look forward to next season

Agree6 Disagree7

{Ed001's Note - abuse gets deleted but we still have to read it. As for telling us to have thicker skin, perhaps you should grow up and stop defending knobheads. Ed002 does this for free and for some little turd to start giving out insults for something given to them for free is beyond idiocy to even defend like you are. Perhaps we should just none of us bother giving any input and you can insult each other as much as you like?}

Ed - he doesn't speak for all of us but I honestly don't think offence was meant by this guy, just frustrated. I have some inside knowledge and tried to share but you just get grief so I understand. Rest assured most sd fans appreciate the work you guys do. I tried warning everyone last week that the club are looking to cash in on about 80 million last week so gutted yes surprised no. This is the reason NC and then MP are not here. MP was not interested in spurs initially until he understood the next part of the project. Put simply the players are furious and the proposal for going forward as some joined because of a vision that is no longer there.

Agree5 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - I deleted most of the grief you were given, but I understand what you are saying. I was just trying to make a point. We are trying to keep the site friendly, not filled with abuse, so that other people with information to share are not going to just keep it to themselves to avoid attracting abuse. No one should have to accept abuse and get a 'thicker skin', people just need to start trying to show some respect to others, even those they dislike.}

Spot on! Well some will bury their head in the sand but the real fans who are realistic know that the statement from saints was to get as much for the stars as possible. KL view is that we can use players from the academy we hear so much about. I doubt there will be an apology however. Maybe if we say we are signing messi and ronaldo they will be pleased despite being bs

Agree0 Disagree2

30 May 2014 12:56:28
Why would they need to apologise? It's their business, they owe £27m on transfers, and the club spends more on wages than it earns from ticket revenue.

It's a shame to see excellent players leave but hardly a surprise. You wouldn't stay in your job if you were offered more money to work in more favourable conditions.

The question is: can new players be sourced to keep the club clear of relegation next season. Until then, speculation about relegation is pointless.

Agree3 Disagree3

I was talking about an apology from the mindless persons that slate eds and others for telling them about inside info that they don't like not the owners. However as you brought it up coming out and making various promises like we did all we could to make MP stay is lying. As for the players shaw alone would be enough to cover the amount you specify. KL may own the club but surely you can see that the executable sale of lallana shaw and lamber plus potentially clyne, wanyama jayrod and others then replacing them with youth is not the forward. ESP after the we are aiming for Europe statement.

Welcome back ed. please ignore the dickheads! Hopefully that's a hint manager be named in 10 says then :)

30 May 2014 07:46:45
Shame some people have ruined it for the rest of us. Totally understand of course we will be getting bids are players are brilliant and been underrated for some time if we accept the main concern.

No manager info atm then

Agree0 Disagree0

Lambert will be off just hope we only sell him and we get a decent fee, who coykd be his replacement ED and who's likely to be the next boss? Coyr we need to keep our players and sign some decent players soon and get a decent boss

Agree1 Disagree1

Thanks for input Ed002. Can I ask if there is anything in the Koeman rumour I just find it hard to believe.

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - I understand that Koeman would be interested.}

I don't know about abuse as such, ED002. I see lately there was a lot of incessant monotonous questioning from the same peanut brained people. I would like to pass on my thanks for your efforts and apologies for the grief you've suffered from the minority. I hope to see you back on here.

Agree2 Disagree0

No offence intended, but ........................

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - Fine, it was clearly me. You sort it out from now on because I am not going to.}

That's because "the abuse was deleted". You are unlikely to see abuse that's been deleted regardless of having a big or peanut brain. Posts are dismissed because they are spelling out the direction the club is going. Regretfully we are moving very quickly to using the academy more - as opposed to allowing the to slowly med into the first team. This does not mean no new signings but we will be underwhelmed.

Agree0 Disagree1

Clearly one of the knobheads mentioned above!

Agree3 Disagree0

Hi we need to egg koeman in the next few days Coyr get a decent manager and onky sell osvaldo snf sign 4/5 players and let's stay up

Agree0 Disagree0

You could say that's a form of abuse Greg? Above is my first ever deleted post, and by no means was abusive.

Agree1 Disagree2

A form of abuse - I assume you mean "peanut brain" which was used in reference to another post from someone else. Get a refund on your dictionary because the definition of abuse is clearly wrong

Agree1 Disagree0

29 May 2014 23:45:19
something i've heard (not from twitter btw) but supposedly we've approached Eto'o as a replacement for Lambert

Believable7 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Why would SFC want a 40 year old?}

Too much on wages for a player who would retire after a year.

Agree2 Disagree0

Right now I think we should take who we can get. who is going to want to come here now.4 mill for Lambert is laughable (addons mean nothing) why sell before the world cup. We already need Two new strikers at the club so what do we do. sell the only fit one we've got. Just as well we enjoyed it the Championship we are going to have a nother go soon. My advice to KL is to sell to someone who cares about the club my advice to Kreuger is go back to hockey my plea to reed is stop making stupid decisions. And all of you tell us the truth.

Agree1 Disagree3

4 million is laughable, just remember how many penalties he has taken and scored to date (34) I believe = 100% for Saints. He will be sorely missed, his goals are just the start. He has a great assists tally and good pass rate.4 million for me doesn't even come close.
